Uh ... you do know that Cass County Sheriff Paul Laney is the back-up site incident commander to the Morton County Sheriff as assigned by the Governor, right?

I do - I live in Cass County and regularly see Paul at Fargo Force games (or did until this mess started, now much less).  I just couldn't resist the dig ;)

As someone who grew up in MN with Hennepin County seemingly trying to rule half the state, ND is no different with Cass County having a huge influence.  Those population centers...

Fun one to watch tonight........Wild vs. Hawks. Lots of UND flavor in the game and 2 really good teams.

Wrong team won, but the right guys scored.  Glass half empty or full?

It was started by Morton County of course. They also caused the weather to snow, and the river to flood. Morton County has more power than Jesus and Moses combined.

Careful what you say, or Imperial Cass will feel disrespected and have to get involved in this, too.

No, once picks are made....they can not be changed.

Yes, even if they are not in the lineup, you are not allowed to change your pick.

    :(

Didn't matter this weekend, but still... I was done in game 1...

Reyes is going to be a senior this season.

I misread - it lists him as a 2018 pick on that slide.  I thought it was a listing of "could go early" still as part of the 2017 listing.  I'll edit my post ;)

  6. Big game tonight, after getting "Leclerc'd" on Tuesday by the Ducks.  Plus, it's always fun to play beat Dallas.

Wife and I made a mid-week call and are headed to the X for Saturday's game against Nashville.  This will be the first Wild game we've attended in 2 years NOT against the Blackhawks - hope MN kicks Pred butt ;)

I'd take Penn St over any 2 seed in the bracket.  Their record is good, but their SOS is very weak.  Haven't really beat anyone.  Bulldog/Hawk regional final with a trip to the FF on the line in the Scheels Center would be insane!!

My chest tightened just thinking about it!

  8. Sad trend in this thread of people not going.  Unfortunately, it continues with us.  We've decided not to go and didn't renew our seats.  No hotel is even booked "just in case we decide to go".  It's just not happening.

I'm not so sure this is true because a lot of UND fans are hockey fans in general. If I still lived in GF and had tickets I would still go to the regional games if UND was not there.

Shoot, we kept our plans and attended the regional at the X last year, even after UND got shipped away.  Love to watch good hockey!

  10. Last night's game was nerve-racking.  Taking that early 3 goal lead, while being outshot, then watching a couple find the net...  Good thing Dub was able to lock it down!

I wonder if we see Kemper tonight vs. Chicago?  Back-to-back with a few travel hours in between could be tough for any goalie.

What you were saying was flipping a team into a band of rankings (from a 3 to a 2) and that I don't see happening.

I'm talking a borderline, and just posing the question.  Say 3 bottom tear teams win their tournaments, and only the top 13 pairwise get in.  Would it be out of the question to treat hockey like every other one of the NCAA sports, and find an excuse to flip the 12 and 13 overall?  Maybe it is - Hockey has been much more mathematical in the decisions than basketball, football, etc., but I just posed it as a "Do you think they would?" type of question.  You definitely answered "No." :D

I'd be pretty surprised to see them flip our seed like that. Has that ever happened? Honestly not being confrontational, but do you remember this ever happening?

Only thing close I can think of is when Wisconsin made the tourney when they were below .500 but hosted the regional at the Kohl Center. We beat them anyway ;) ... Since then they added that under .500 rule.

That's not really the same situation here, I guess.

They'd be a 4 seed, if Duluth is the #1 overall they get the #16 team. This has been broken with the #1 team playing the #15 team

I don't honestly remember the seeding that well, so I have to punt on that question, but according to the next quoted post, it's happened where they did some rearranging.

  13. Let me throw a wrench in the "Pairwise rules all matchups" scenario:  Say there's a couple of schools that win their conference tournament and get in, but wouldn't be in otherwise.  If UND is within 1 - 2 spots of a 3 seed, but PW says should be a 4, I'm thinking they may get assigned a 3 seed, just so UMD can get put in Fargo while avoiding a round 1 matchup.  No proof, but I wouldn't be surprised.
