And sheesh, the attendance in Detroit last night looked to leave something to desire (B1G-ish) for the opening night of the new arena.  Nice job, Wings fans!

That was pretty sad.  I get that it was a mid week game, but you were opening a new arena!?!!

So the Chargers can't sell out a 27,000 seat stadium in LA?

Now THERE is a well-planned franchise move!

They abandoned upset their fan base, moved to a town where people don't care about football, got stuck in a soccer stadium, and yet people everywhere seem surprised by low attendance....

I've been a Charger fan since Dan Fouts was throwing to Charlie Joyner, and I'm not the lease surprised at this outcome.

Don't know the extent of the Reyes injury, but UNDfootball360 seemed to think Reyes was being held out yesterday for precautionary reasons. We'll see this week.

He came out with his arm dangling and iced his elbow for a series or two, returned for one series (I think it was just one), then next appeared without shoulder pads.

We sit right behind the defensive bench, so have a good of view of these things.  Unfortunately, they don't tell us what that view means...

Very true. His plate numbers as a catcher are way more valuable than as a first baseman and propped up his value a decent amount. I don't think it is a surprise he ended up at first base because he wasn't going to play his whole career as a catcher, but the concussions expedited that move by a few seasons. However it is really impressive how good of a defensive first baseman he has become, he has a legit shot to win a Gold Glove there this year.

    Somewhat humorous antidote for you:

So, going back a couple of years, and I was sitting at the rail having a bite to eat at Spitfire in West Fargo.  A couple of typical "sports fans" to my right are arguing about the Twins.  I was feeling a bit mischievous that evening (and I'm sure the Sam Adams didn't hurt that), and so I end up engaged in the conversation with them.  One is losing his **** over the other's statement that Mauer would win a Gold Glove at first base.  Just because the "no he won't" guy was more obnoxious, I took the side that he would win one, arguing that catching was a more difficult defensive position than first, and he just needed a little time being in a new position.  Not even that night, did I think he'd actually pull it off.  Glad to see him improve to the point of at least being in the conversation!

Mauer's contract has done absolutely zero to prevent them from signing players. They've been well below their "self-imposed" salary cap for a long time now.

I never get the Mauer contract argument. People complain the Pohlad's are cheap and don't keep their star players yet people continue to rip the most obvious example of actually paying one of the premier players in baseball anywhere near his market value before he gets to free agency.

I agree with you almost 100%.  I think the one issue is that Mauer got that contract as a catcher. If he has the same numbers from behind the plate, a lot* of these people are complaining about something else.

*Some would still complain about him, but that group is going to be complaining about something at all times.  MN sports fans...   The team could be undefeated and there would be people whining.

I'm sure he was. The Chadders in WVC closed when Five Guys moved in across the street. (And shortly after In N Out sued them)

Animal Style fries are covered in cheese, grilled onions and In N Out's 'secret sauce'

I also get my burger animal style which is mustard coated patties (they're coated in mustard before cooking), pickles, extra sauce and grilled onions

Holy crap.... my arteries hardened just reading that!

  7. 20-17.  Winner decided by the defensive lines.  Could go either way with a turnover.  I'm totally jacked for this game and expect it to be a nail biter!  I'd never wish my life away, but I'm totally ready for it to be Thursday!!!

I will make it a point to try both Crowne and In-N-Out.

If you are ever in Denver look up Park Burger. Best burger I have had out here. No In-N-Out in Colorado so I have to try it because of all of the hype.

I was in the same boat as you, and had to make a point of eating there just because of how the west coast loves them.  My advice with limited experience? Just don't eat the fries.  The burgers are fine - good even - but the fries are the worst I've ever had.  May as well have been cardboard.

Worked some magic, got it.  Buffalo Wild Wings, North Fargo, back room.  (across from Fargo Dome!!  ha ha!!)

Sounds like GF BWW will have it, too.

Sweet!  Save room for the wife and me?  Though, the south BWW is a lot closer to home (cheaper Uber!)

    Haven't received mine yet.

Mine just came Monday - football and hockey.  There was also a note in the envelope about delays for those who have basketball tickets, so maybe that's the issue?  Do you get basketball, too?

How about people selling food/drinks coming down the aisles to the crowd like at a baseball game. Less people wondering around the concourse in line for popcorn, and missing the action.

Also a question for all: how much control does UND have when dealing with GameDay stuff in a building owned by the city?

Sorry, but I hate this idea.  Having people walking up and down the aisles is bad enough, but now you're suggesting they be there all the time?  At least most fans wait for the action to stop, but vendors are always moving, or stopped in front of you selling something, whether the ball is in play or not.  Drives me nuts watching football at other venues who do this (esp NFL. money grubbing stadiums).

Even close the vehicle entry to the tailgate a hour before kickoff. With that if your going to tailgate and then get to your seat before kickoff,  your running short of time.

I like it.  I like it a lot!
