They've been starting an injured goalie for several weeks and then when he got a record finally got pulled for time to heal?

The next question, then, is "How injured?"

If it was just a nagging thing, that didn't affect much, then so be it.  But if it was an issue that caused him to play in a manner to get pulled... SMH

Cool....Is that good or bad? If the puck is by the net it is very exciting, but if not it seems all you can do to see is watch the screen. I'm not a fan of that when I have a choice. If it was the only tickets available I would take them though..

At least we're not competing for seats ;)

I like to sit at the end and watch the play develop.  I also like to sit up high enough to look over, instead of through, the glass (unless I can be in the first couple rows).  If I'm not at the end, I like to be about goal line deep on the side.  Kind of interesting how everyone develops their own "where I want to be" preferences.

I was at the game as well.  After talking with others and observing Boeser closely, it appears he most likely has an undisclosed lower body injury.  While at times he showed flashes of last year's player he was then at times immediately afterward checking out an ankle or knee on his way to the bench.  Something is just not right.  His wrist may not be 100% yet either as his shot is not as quick as last year.

For those screaming for Tomek, I doubt that you will see him.  He did not look good on Friday night in the period that he played.  He just is not tracking the puck well at all or handling it cleanly.  And from what I heard in the Springs, he is not doing well in practice either.  In fact, I was told he may potentially be the fourth best goalie on the team.  Draft spot means absolutely nothing most times when it comes to actual play.  Draft spot indicates possible potential.

CC played an entirely different game on Saturday from Friday.  Defensely they absolutely collapsed and packed it in at the front of the net.  It was extremely tough to get in front of the net or to get shots through to the net.  Their one goal was a fluke off a UND player past Rinks.  UND hit steel five times.  Just an inch the other side on any of them and there would have been a goal.  The effort was there Saturday night, just not the results.  The freshmen are really beginning to shine and hopefully their hustle will be infectious to the whole team.  Wilkie was very noticeable with his effort on Saturday night.  Saturday night was disappointing from a results perspective, but not from a team effort perspective.  They dominated the game and deserved better.

What he said ^^^ (except I wasn't in CO)

Thanks for doing all my typing for me :D

I see Heisenberg's site doesn't have Evers committed anymore. Anyone know anything about that?

No commitment listed on the line chart for his games this weekend in Fargo.  Guessing he's no longer Forks bound.

  5. The west regional in that scenario - setting up us vs. Denver, just like last year's semi...  That's got the makings of an instant classic!  One where you walk out of the arena, shaking and wide-eyed, fully aware that you just saw something special.

Kind of how I left the arena in Tampa last spring ;)

I didn't notice any but they did add the screeching hawk noise after touchdowns. It's getting more and more common in those sports.

    HATED the hawk noise  :(

But dug the hawk eying the field goal attempts ;)

It will take quite a while before the name and logo really grows.

Watching the women's BB game last night on Midco, and you could hear "Let's Go Hawks" chants from the crowd.  The chants kinda took me off guard.  At football, the new logo was much more accepted/prominent, but there were never really any "LGH" chants... at least none that I remember.

....or just eliminate the game all together.

I'm sick of the Blackhawks playing outdoor every year, too, but I have to admit I had an absolute blast at the Wild outdoor game and would go back for another one in a heartbeat.  Wild games at the X are fun, but this was way over the top!  The entire weekend was fun - from not being able to get into Tom Reid's on Friday night because it was closed for a private party (sounds odd, but the players we saw in there...), to the alumni game, to the final buzzer with the Wild beating Chicago.  Admittedly, we had great weather for it, unlike St. Louis.

Let me be clear - I'm not trying to reinstate the previous topic used for discussing Fargo. This is not for discussing crime - just for business topics, like the Grand Forks one.

Anecdotally, it seems like Fargo is in a bit of a downturn. When I lived there, (2014-2016) I was worried about what I perceived as over-building in housing (especially in high end homes) and over-expansion of businesses. My feeling had been that the growth in restaurants/retail was being propped up by temporary demand increases due to the over-construction going on in the housing and retail markets. Once housing slowed, my thought had been the construction workforce would drop and demand for hotels/restaurants/retail along with that.

I've been seeing a number of articles about places closing and the housing market stagnating. Anyone have anything else that's out there with analysis on all this? I haven't been able to find any concrete housing numbers to look at other than the first article below. What other factors do you think are at play here? Oil?

From memory, you can also put in the recent RIP list:
    -King Leo's
    -TGI Fridays
    -Quaker Steak
-Ole & Lena's Pizza (mall location)

I won't speculate on every article on your list, but a lot of those closings were because places weren't worth keeping open.  Examples: the Moorhead Days Inn.  Place was a dump and had been without it's liquor license for some time.  The road construction may have been the final dagger, but it hadn't been a good place in a decade.  Quaker Steak was terrible food, with terrible service, in a high rent area.  I've never been so disappointed to learn a chain was coming to town, and they lived down to the reputation in every way.  Sears and Kmart are as much victims of their corporate headquarters as anything else.  And I could continue to go on one-by-one.  Many closings are actually for good reason (and sometimes good riddance!).  On the flip side, the south side of the metro continues to open new businesses as a high rate.  Just going down Veterns' Boulevard gives you Tru Blu (opening this spring), and just announced addition to the new hotel behind Blarney Stone, new hotel by Cost-co, restaurants like Blvd. and Brutus Brickhouse, a new brewery in Flatland Brewing, and numerous other buildings going up and businesses opening.  Last time I was in south Moorhead I was surprised by the new Hornbachers and other construction on 8th St.  Fargo's 52nd Ave is picking up with lots of new business (and have you seen all the building out by Davies HS?) and a proposed outlet mall now on the table.

I think the area will continue to expand for some time to come.  The diversion plan will potentially draw a boundary to expansion to the southwest, but that will take some time if it happens at all.  Even then, that would potentially (likely?) cause property values to rise, as there's less area to spread into.

Yeah I think WJC games showed the coaching staff a lot. Heavily outmatched Slovakian team and he made some impressive saves.

Maybe @ CC? I honestly think an away game would be better, way less pressure.

    Good point.

Another thing to consider; How close is Cam to the consecutive starts streak?  I don't think you see another goalie start until he owns the new record.
