  1. Penn St has been absolutely pathetic at basketball, but yet excels at volleyball and, maybe, hockey. The attendance for those two are among national leaders. Hockey fills a winning niche in Happy Valley in the winter.
  2. Even the Michigan's, with their huge endowments, steer clear of WIH. The B1G certainly doesn't want it for its TV value, as it would be a zero on the B1G Network. Think WIH is dead to the B1G thinking, except to Minnie, Wisconsin and PSU.
  3. This team should roll through the Big Sky. You will significantly increase Montana vball attendance, as they hardly draw flies. Montana St draws for vball though.
  4. Never understood why NDSU doesn't at least play some games in their new BSA instead of that old gym. Maybe the attendance will force them to get competitive in recruiting - after all two of our stars are from Imperial Cass.
  5. Will be interesting if Tillman Fertitta, who bought the Houston Rockets and the Toyota Center arena for 2.2 Biĺlion, will push for an NHL expansion team now. He can schedule the Toyota Center anyway he wants now and owns a large sea food restaurant chain, Landry's, and Las Vegas casinos. Any Seattle arena won't be open for years and the NHL wants 32 teams with balanced divisions. Seattle and Quebec City would probably be the 33rd and 34th teams much later.
  6. Great average attendance means something special for recruiting. That's part of the reason that non-P5 schools like Creighton, Wichita St and UNI can challenge Big10 and Big 12 schools
  7. The sad thing is NDSU is rated way higher than the three weekend opponents. Next week against Cal Poly and Green Bay will be immensely better challenges.
  8. Denver is getting formidable in the Summit, as they seem to plow money into it like all their sports.
  9. If Navy adds DI hockey, have been expecting Liberty to add it too. Liberty has made major improvement to its rink, like something bigger is happening. Liberty has plenty of money and would relish playing Navy and AHA schools just for their academic credibility. Delaware seems like it has a lesser chance, as it's facilities seem to need an improvement and I see it wanting FBS before hockey. An outside chance could be West Chester St in PA, a DII school, that would have a lot to gain in the Philly area by going DI in hockey. Six schools on the east coast have made club hockey a major deal with the ESCHL and suspect each of them have eventual DI plans. Those six schools are Delaware, West Chester, Rutgers, Liberty, Stony Brook and URI, but each of them have different ideas on when they are going DI.
  10. This team deserves a sell out crowd on Wednesday. Set an attendance record.
  11. Moved up to #44 on Massey.
  12. Interesting that Massey says UND is a major underdog in only two remaining games: vs Cal Poly in Green Bay at Iowa State It's a slight underdog in two more: at Green Bay at Portland St Four more games could give us problems: vs UNM at El Paso @ Sac St @ N Col vs N Ariz
  13. UND wins second set, 25-20.
  14. 17-12 now in the 2nd, UND.
  15. UND probably lost any chance of being ranked when they lost to Ga Tech. We don't play enough P5 teams. Looks like we could have played UCLA but Pryor chose to play in the UTEP tournament instead.
  16. Lead YSU 1-0 in sets. Tied at 10 in the 2nd.
  17. Und wins 4th set, 25-15. On to El Paso, where they face Youngstown St , UNM and UTEP. Ashley Brueggeman seemed to come into an offensive rhythm this game, so it's nice to have a varied offensive game.
  18. UND looses service 3, 25-22. A series of errors gave UNLV a six pt lead, 20-14, and UND couldn't recover.
  19. Wins the second service by the same score, 25-16.
  20. UND finally had a good first set over UNLV, 25-16. But had a lot of serving errors that need to be cleaned up.
  21. Pummel the zoobs next week, Utes! And win at least 10 games.
  22. UND wins the 5th set 15-10. Great grit and comeback against a 0-2 set deficit. The game was important as NMSU was getting votes in the mid major poll.
  23. UND wins set 4, 25-21. Great job at coming back. The home crowd is probably sparse, as NMSU fb is playing Ariz St right now.
  24. UND trying to come back against NMSU. Got shelled in the second set 25-8 but won the 3rd 25-21 but still trailing 2-1 in sets. Currently leading 12-11 in the 4th.
  25. ASU's Ray Anderson was just quoted two weeks ago that he strongly thinks an arena will be operational for hockey within two years. Arizona St is not dropping hockey.
