College playoffs are weird, one and done’s are tough. Look, I get as pissed as anyone when we get knocked out early. That shouldn’t happen with the teams we put together. But the entire group has to come together…and you need a good amount of luck unless you have a BC like squad (we don’t…and they still lost too). We’ve had some good teams recently but had some bad luck. We need to turn things around this year. I’d love another natty, but let’s start with an NCAA win first

If we are still in that upper echelon of programs…absolutely. If we start being competitive in the NCAAs, absolutely. We need to figure out a way to compete in some recruiting battles with blue chips. The landscape is changing quickly. But…Bubs is a great coach. Ive heard from advisors, scouts, etc. Berry is very respected in the hockey world.

Again, Berry hasn’t had Hak’s success. But I do think he’s a great coach. He’s a keeper.

Way more with less? Hakstol had wagons. Not sure if he was the primary recruiter for all those guys but his teams were stacked! Berry has had some nice seasons with success…just not the same success as Hak. The natty was awesome though!

I’m not taking it that far. But definitely a head scratcher. You’re not supposed to get beat up first exhibition of the year by a team like augustana. You’re supposed to put on a show for the fans.

Augustana was going really hard, we weren’t. Boys were playing like it was a men’s league game.

Recap- offense was absolutely no where. Defense was leaky all game…13 could use a film session. 7 was the bright spot for me. Really noticeable.

They need to blow these lines up

From what I can see, he lets his skill guys be skill guys. He allows mistakes. He knows when to tighten things up by the end of the year.

Looks like Vig’s younger boy is playing NTDP tonight. Big boy 6’3”

The hockey will be much better…but I do agree. It’s going to be much harder for most US kids to play college hockey. Especially in the short term. Many kids will be playing the full 3 yrs of NAHL/USHL hockey.

Goalies are so hard to recruit because the game changes so much from HS, to juniors, to college. You get the best 16 year old and they end up getting shelled in juniors. It’s tough to figure out.

Tanner Walos decommited from Wisco…he’s pretty good. Has an ‘08 younger brother that’s very good. Something to keep an eye on.

Obviously…boy that sucks. NTDP being in Plymouth, DC getting the WJC last year (and this year). Nice little advantage.
