Swankler shouldn't even be playing college hockey to begin with, as much as I disagree with why.
Agreed. Unsigned players should be free to play CHL hockey and then go NCAA if they are unsigned. (Especially since those football players are making major money already)
But rules are rules no matter how stupid. No idea how he got clearance in the first place.

Yeah for sure. Five teams with at least one 1st place vote and UND leads the way with 12 but still finishes #2 in the poll.
I think it'd be hard to ignore the amount of forward talent on this UND team, and the pollsters agree...if the Dmen can gel early and Persson plays up to potential, this team has the skill on paper to compete for some trophies at the end of the season.Last year some things went “off the rails” quickly and the team underachieved significantly. As you noted, hopefully the group gels and they get expected results. Last year they were so unlucky.

Hagen's brothers visited Michigan and Notre Dame recently.
Makes sense. Although Notre Dame has always confused me a bit. If I’m an offensive/skill guy…that’s the last place I’d be going. Michigan seems like a logistical destination for them. The one brother is a one and done anyways.
-
Ryker Lee to Mich State…great commit. Not really a blue chip but I think this kid will be a high end college player. Late bloomer but skill is off the charts. I was hoping we were in on him. Kind of reminds me of Blake.
-
I doubt we were in on him but Shane Vansaghi committed to Mich State. Benefits of hiring for NTDP coach I assume, they’ve had a very solid recruiting year.

Sounds like Lindberg is down to UND and DU for his final two.
Would be nice to get all three of the F/M boys.DU has a track record for letting smaller skill guys play. Makes sense they’re in the running. I’m hoping we get him as well. He’s always been a fun player to watch.

Well that surely puts some swirl into the water.
The assumption was brother James would follow him to the Crimson; now what ...
If I were snarky I'd say ... BU's NIL offer must've hit the number ...
yeah BU, BC, MI, or MN. Would be fun to see them go against the grain though.

Michael Hagens backed out of Harvard commitment…let the fun begin. Package deal.

Wonder if all the other high end talent BU has coming in could cause concern about ice time in certain situations.
That very well could be the case.
-
Sounds like Will Zellers opened back up his recruitment…hopefully we are in on him.
-
Drew Schock to Michigan, another colossal get.

If 10 happens, it's St. Thomas and a likely Summit rebrand with Fenton taking it in. (again synergy) The Summit needs a team sport with other numbers shaky follow Western Illinois departure. I like a LIndenwood addition for both as well as that shores up the Summit on a number of fronts and makes Summit football possible, bringing everything under a single TV package.
100%…nchc is going to need St Thomas. They are going to start running here soon.

Zach Morin to BU. Not sure if we were in on him or not.

Anyone know anything about these guys? A few years ago they'd be getting offers already.
MN kids are all high end.

Making the tourney needs to be a minimum expectation.
Every year. Too many advantages for that not to be the expectation.
I like the chances that that minimum will be met this season.
Color me optimistic.
Depends on how the team gels…how the new faces fit in and perform. Last years team (on paper) should have been very solid. The dcore looked really really solid. They simply underperformed.

His dad was also short, but stocky. Did you ever see his dad Curtis Murphy play? If his son is anything like Curtis Murphy, he will be outstanding. Curtis Murphy is one of the best defenseman to ever play at UND. He was also a great AHL player, but didn't get much of an opportunity in the old NHL where size was considered a must.
Agreed, great post. Had he grown in todays game he would have played in the NHL.

Evan jardine to Harvard. Another good get. How many has Harvard committed so far?

No disrespect to Carter Murphy but I don't feel like a 5'6 prospect is a high-end prospect atm.
He made the 5 nations team…played u16 instead of 15o so he’s clearly a really good player. Albeit tiny.
-
That stinks…I thought he would for sure choose us.
