And with his father involved now, it's a no brainer. I can't imagine any schools are really wasting any time/effort/money with him although I did say the same thing about Wyatt thinking he was headed to Mich St to join Brooks (which obviously changed). Don't think it will with Joey though.

100% I could see a scenario where he accelerates and plays with Wyatt next year.

Levi Harper (2008, OHL, Saginaw Spirit) commits to Michigan as most expected

Really good get. Really like Harper’s game. Keeps getting better every year.

Schneider is a fine pickup for UMN, but I lol'd when I saw that PuckPreps listed him as a 5-star.
If Schneider is a 5-star, then Fitzhenry must be an 8-star.  ;)

Freddie is high end. Didn’t have quite the start he wanted and eventually tore his achilles once he started finding his groove.  He’s really really good.

Would UND have taken Freddie a week ago? Yes. Would they have room for him (or anyone else) after the Rucks committed? No.

Gopher fans claiming this as a recruiting win against UND is a stretch. Schloss stated on his podcast this week that UND was not after him, at least anymore. Certainly a solid add for the gophers nonetheless. They’ll probably get Willis too.

It was between MN and DU…not too sure  we were ever going to be a 1-2 finalist. We’re always top 3 though :)

Article about Fitzhenry in the Tribune mentions that we are also battling the Gophers for Fred Schneider. I see he follows Chyzyk too.

It’s interesting because I was under the impression we weren’t really in that race anymore. I also think there’s probably no room for him if we land the Rucks, unless he’d be willing to play one more year of juniors.

Regardless, it’s good to see us in the thick of it for all these top names

DU is in on Freddie too I believe

Why would they declare before they have to unless they feared losing the option?  I get why WE would like them to, but why would they put down their cards now?

100% I could be very wrong, however I would be shocked if they committed prior to next summer. There’s really no point to be honest. Maybe behind the scene, but not publicly. I’m hearing rucks are most likely coming to UND if they play ncaa. But again, in this new world it only matters if they actually show up. Things can change so fast.

NCAA accepts hockey's age proposal for 19 after basketball and soccer threw right behind it.

Huge…hockey’s path was so great because it gave late bloomers a chance. I’m fine with removing 25 year olds and guys who’ve already played pro, but cutting kids’ path at 22 (in some cases) was a bit aggressive. Especially for those kids who’ve already started HS and will graduate prior to 18.

    Rudolph to Denver

Minnesota out on DuPont. MSU and Michigan will get visits

Denver is loading late. D core is super fun on paper, they’ll be young though.

NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings has Cooper Williams at #50 and Brayden Klimpke at #74. Williams was the 2nd leading scorer on the Blades, but had more goals.

    Yes, those are facts.

Brayden Klimpke was named MVP of Saskatoon.  Kind of surprised Cooper Williams wasn’t best forward on the team, but would imagine he will really have a great year next year.

Williams wasn’t the best F this year on the Blades. Klimpke is nice, excited for him to come in next year. Should have a great role from the get go.

It's gonna be pretty darn annoying if UMN ends up landing DuPont after their decades of saying how evil Canadian players are in the NCAA.

I think they are…I heard a rumor his gf may be going to Kato? You know how that goes. Also, sounds like his dad and Larson used to play together.

Little interesting in that Tommy Bleyl seems pretty comparable to Daxon Rudolph so a little weird that MSU isn't just bringing in Tommy Bleyl. Wonder if they go that route if they miss out on Rudolph

Bleyl really popped this year, I actually think it’s smart to play another year of juniors. He’s a mid to late first round pick, which is wild he’s not coming in next year but there’s really no rush. Reid is a one and done most likely so he’ll walk into a great role after next year.

It's all a bleepshow and regardless of the change, assuming we get changes, I'm just going in with the thought that most guys (who don't sign earlier) will be 3 year producers. Sure, you might have the occasional 4 year guy (or even rarer 5 year guy), but the majority will be 3 year types. Anyone who comes in too early is likely destined for the transfer portal. This is why the rule changes are dumb, you need extra years of junior to get ready for the NCAA if you aren't a rockstar as a 17 & 18 year old.

Bingo. Everyone will 3 or under. Unicorns won’t stay over 3 and everyone else will only have 3.

From your quote: "The commissioners have countered with a proposal that would start the clock at the time of college enrollment, no later than age 19."

So does that new proposal mean that no players would be allowed to start their college hockey careers after the age of 19, or that the players will have a year deducted from their 5 years of eligibility for each year after their 19th year when they start?

    I’m really hoping this works.

Zero chance we get the ruck twins being full up at forward, right? I'm assuming they're 100% going NCAAs this coming season and not 27-28?
