  1. Ryder Betzold to ASU. No idea if we were in on him.

He is a really good player but the Twitter scouts seem to have overrated him from my angle. Puck preps has him as a 5 star. A bit aggressive. Time will solve it though.

  2. Watched the NTDP vs Elite League all stars earlier today. Takeaways- we really need Lindberg, very impressed by him. I don’t think missing out on Potter will be that big of a deal…because I believe there is a big chance he never plays college hockey at all. Best player I’ve seen in a while. O’Neil was solid, Kuene looks solid. Wasn’t hugely impressed with Schultz…could have been an off game .

Shattuck is playing in MNHS elite league right now, so good players but not exactly structured as opponents.

On that note, I saw something about NTDP U-17 having a game this weekend against the elite league all stars, is this new? Any chance of Zellers and Schultz playing in it? @scpa0305 this is your field of expertise.

the u17 NTDP squad came last year too. I know the played shattuck while also playing those elite league all stars. I don’t see a matchup on the schedule between shattuck and the ntdp…which is very odd. I believe shattuck won last year.

Not sure which thread is best to post this question, but... Does anyone have a list of the top 20ish 06 and 07 recruits?

(I know there is Schlossman's list, but I understand that to be a mix a high-end talent, players UND will be pursuing, and more local names.  I am wondering if there is more objective (to the extent possible) list of the top recruits out there).

Puck Preps does the best job from my end.

I suppose you are always going to get guys that follow the money, but maybe a lot of the elite players won't be as concerned about the short term gain, and want to train and develop in a pro-type atmosphere that UND has to offer.   As long as we get our fair share of guys that are of the 2-3 year college route elite players we should be fine. Will be interesting to see if the NCAA makes some major tweaks to NIL.

Completely agree and hockey is a tough game, meaning it’s a late bloomer sport. You can always backfill with overagers to be competitive.

But I’ve seen the landscape change over the past 5-7 years. I was fairly confident the Big10 would beef up extremely quick…and they have. From a recruiting perspective. Just something to consider when blue chips commit. Currently it looks like we have 1-2 of them (emery and Boisvert).

I wouldn’t get too giddy at Minnesota’s misfortune because if NIL continues to play a big role, they are better positioned with all the major companies and money floating around than we are.  We can only hope that Schlossman is right and that the NCAA will be forced to take a closer look at NIL to prevent college sports from being a farce.  Personally, I prefer the academic rewards slant that UND is taking.

Worried about this too. We wouldn’t be able to compete with the big schools. Especially with the transfer rules the way they are…perfect storm to lose commits and players. Not sure I like where all this is going.

Gruba showed as uncommitted on a Fargo line sheet. Not exactly high end but that could be who they meant.

Gruba is really solid. More of a late bloomer…could end up a really good college player. Taking the slower route. MN?

I think with Moore there’s some chatter about him ending up in the OHL also.

Not sure why you would go to the NTDP…only to go back to junior. I noticed he hasn’t played a game yet. Maybe injury?

I’d also be curious to know who would be next in line after Mooney as far as forwards go.

Simpson. Moore is huge too…5 star. But he has to be Lea big towards one of the Michigan schools.

UND with twice as many as the next highest.    Sure, small sample, but .  . .

That list is only from the initial Schloss listing. There’s a ton of high enders missing from that list. But….I love the guys we’ve gotten so far.
