  1. That is great news. I really like the look of next year's squad. Judging by the difficulty I had attempting to draw up a lineup chart, that is positive news.
  2. Ok thanks. It's pretty rare for a player to get drafted in their last year of eligibility but he may have a shot. Especially as a 6th-7th round flyer.
  3. Haha that's a good one. Those Canadian junior leagues can be tough to figure out. Good thing with this kid is that he has a nice combo of skill and grit. anyone know if he still has draft eligibility? Currently he isn't drafted however he's put up great numbers in juniors. It can't be all on his size as others are being drafted shorter.
  4. I actually agree with this. I would be shocked if they didn't fight however.....what solid foundation do they have to stand on. There is little revenue creation whatsoever. In full disclosure I never wanted UND to scrap their WH program and still think it's terrible that it happened however, what other solutions did they have? Did they handle is bad? Sure. But unfortunately I havent heard of a solution to balance the shortfall without cutting these expensive programs.
  5. What fundraiser? I think I know where this is going (and I'm actually LOL). But still, what fundraiser?
  6. Yeah I believe so. I think you have to be under 20 as well (during the first year you play <10 NHL games).
  7. Agreed. I was at that game last night. Didn't notice Jost much. He also had trouble with face offs. Only second game though. He looks really small out there. Edit: After looking at his stats from last night they obviously weren't that bad. Didn't have a TO, his FO% was 36% but that isn't that terrible considering it was his second game.
  8. Good old Nigel Dawes, greatest squirt I ever played against.
  9. I agree with you. You just have to remember that some on this forum have to consistently mock players on the team...someone's getting it no matter what. Its one thing to call out a player for making a bonehead play its another to never let off the entire season. Im just hoping both pogo (and the others that have offers) all stay. I really like the look of next year's team.
  10. There must be something going on here that Bubs doesn't like. More than the lack of goal scoring because his production was greater than both yon and Bowen. I'm guessing it's work ethic.
  11. Hold on , law and order is almost over.
  12. Well they have talent, most of it is pretty young but they also have vorecek, giroux, schenn, simmonds, ghost, etc. For whatever reason that can't put it all together. You're right in that they do have some bad contracts, but they definitely underachieved this year.
  13. Actually philly has a ton of talent. Tons more in the pipeline too. He should get next year....but nothing more than that unless they start turning the page.
  14. That's because of the type of kids they can recruit. They all have great hands.
  15. Obviously your sitting Wilkie but who else would you sit(assuming both those guys play)?
  16. Doesn't JJ always play LW?
  17. Yes I get Bowen can play a nice 3rd/4th line role (and that he's not as offensively talented as some of the guys that put up (much) bigger numbers in juniors). I'm just saying that jones will come in as a junior, although he's the same age as a typical overager. In seeing him play, he's much more offensively talented than a guy like Bowen, but he also plays a nice two way game. Which would fit in nicely on our 2nd-4th lines. He's not all offense, he plays the game the right way. He probably just went to OSU a tad too early. We'll soon find out.
  18. Not bad...I still think jones will immediately crack the lineup. Also, I think you're positions are a bit mixed up.
  19. 2 pts for bast last night (8 pts in 8 playoff games). Kawaguchi shredding, that sauce pass schloss retweeted was a beauty.
  20. Agreed, to make a big impact he should have came back for another year. I thought the same about Nelson. He was awesome, but had he come back and played that junior year he would be cemented. Both great players that left a year early (from a UND perspective).
  21. I noticed he was wearing the C
  22. Fired? What?
  23. I actually like our talent next year (assuming Pogo, Wolanin, and Gersich all stay). Those boys should all get a bit better, some of the other guys should get a bit better, and we have some nice freshman coming in. Mismash (potential first rounder), Adams, and Kawaguchi all have a ton of skill. I think guys like Hoff and JJ (even adding in Yon and Bowen) are really going to improve. I mean, last year Kawaguchi had 83 pts in 56 games. To compare, Bowen had 22 pts in 47 games. This was in the same league and Penticton (Bowen's team) had much more fire power. Also, Kawaguchi is a full year younger. Collin Adams has averaged a point per game in the USHL over the past two years. That's super tough to do. These boys should be ready to go.
  24. Perfect, they're both gone
  25. Completely different league. Adams would have shredded the BCHL. They both should be good though. Top 9 players for sure.
