  1. 2 pts for bast last night (8 pts in 8 playoff games). Kawaguchi shredding, that sauce pass schloss retweeted was a beauty.
  2. Agreed, to make a big impact he should have came back for another year. I thought the same about Nelson. He was awesome, but had he come back and played that junior year he would be cemented. Both great players that left a year early (from a UND perspective).
  3. I noticed he was wearing the C
  4. Fired? What?
  5. I actually like our talent next year (assuming Pogo, Wolanin, and Gersich all stay). Those boys should all get a bit better, some of the other guys should get a bit better, and we have some nice freshman coming in. Mismash (potential first rounder), Adams, and Kawaguchi all have a ton of skill. I think guys like Hoff and JJ (even adding in Yon and Bowen) are really going to improve. I mean, last year Kawaguchi had 83 pts in 56 games. To compare, Bowen had 22 pts in 47 games. This was in the same league and Penticton (Bowen's team) had much more fire power. Also, Kawaguchi is a full year younger. Collin Adams has averaged a point per game in the USHL over the past two years. That's super tough to do. These boys should be ready to go.
  6. Perfect, they're both gone
  7. Completely different league. Adams would have shredded the BCHL. They both should be good though. Top 9 players for sure.
  8. Mismash is going to be a 1st/2nd rounder, he won't be on the 4th. Also, Collin Adams will be good next year, so he'll play. Nick jones should also cut the lineup especially without pogo.
  9. Agreed he struggled his first two years in the USHL....then scored a bunch in his last year.
  10. No he actually didnt. He said UND was one of his favorites IF he went the college route. Seth handled his recruiting very well. He didnt commit and back out at the last second like Miller.
  11. His point (I believe) was that Jost should have came back for another year (where I dont disagree). My point was that Jost was better as a frosh (thus making him closer to NHL ready than Schmaltz).
  12. Jost was a few clicks better than Schmaltz.....comparing their freshman year's.
  13. Come on...let's get positive. We actually have a nice core next year. They'll be good. Other teams are losing players too.
  14. It did for him. And I doubt you were on gersich's level.
  15. Both top 6? Who's moving down? I mean I already thought it was crazy enough having Adams on the 4th. He's better than both those boys right now.
  16. Please don't compare Bowen to Gersich Gersich has had all the accolades since he was 12 years old.
  17. No way. JJ was a point/gm guy in the USHL. He was also hurt for a large part of the season. Of the top 6 I listed, who does Bowen play over?
  18. He skates great, and brings it every time he plays. But he doesnt bring a ton of offense. Having a regular top 6 role (next year) is a large stretch considering the guys we have on the team.
  19. Again first draft. I know bowen will cut the lineup. Just not sure who sits. This is Wilkie's year (if he stays). He can only play a top 6 or 9 role as his D game will never be that great and his shot is lethal. Definitely forgot about Yon (we're going to be very deep at LW....Kawaguchi technically plays LW too, but he also play C). If Pogo doesn't leave (which is slim to none), we are a lot deeper than most think. Remember, kids get better with time.
  20. 1st draft: Gersich - Hoff - Pogo (until he signs im assuming he stays) Mismash - Rhett - Olson JJ - Kawaguchi - Wilkie C. Adams - Simo - Njones - (Yes I know I'm missing Bowen in a 3rd or 4th line role, does he play over Simo? ) Wolanin - Peski Poolman - Shaw Johnson - Bast Cam Tomek
  21. I've never been known for my defensive abilities. On or off the ice
  22. Not a breat comparison, but guys like Brent Burns and Erik Karrlson do much more damage from the back end. I'm not saying Wolanin wouldn't cut it at forward, I'm just saying those fans that complain about his defense and praise his offense need to realize that in most (not all) cases his skillset wouldn't translate as smoothly by shifting positions. Plus going into next year, who is going to drive offense from the back end (which has made our team so good the past few years)? We typically have multiple defensemen who drive possission. I can think of Wolanin and maybe Shaw (assuming he steps it up this year, which I think he will). Peski, Johnson, CPoolman all showed they were ready however we need several mobile dmen....not one.
  23. He's not a forward. He's an offensive defensive. There's a difference :). For developmental reasons, he needs to stay back there and work on defending his own zone. Also, just because he shows offense doesn't mean that would translate by putting him at forward. He's a guy that likes to build a rush (from the back end) because his top speed isn't high end. Kid should have a big year next year, if others pick up their games and give him support. This is an opportunity for some of the boys that struggled last year to get that oppurtunity to put up points.
