I did the same....that weather was nasty.

Exactly....there are always outliers. However the USHL is getting so good that in many cases the top point producers tend to produce at the college level. Clearly Wilkie has struggled so far however hopefully he puts this past him and continues to stay positive and come back strong for his junior year. You always have the guys that do well in juniors but struggle when they get to college, it's most likely due to foot speed, vision, or strength. However, rarely does someone do nothing in juniors and shine when they get to college (yes, I know what Jonny B. did for SCSU and that was a huge outlier).

I wouldn't go that far. Hoff had similar numbers to Adams. I honestly thought Hoff would be more dangerous this year, next year could be his year. He's not the only one struggling to meet expectations this year. Also, I think Yon will turn out to be a pretty nice scorer in a couple years. Let him figure out the college game a bit. He also needs a good passer on his line. I have no clue what Bowen will turnout to be. He's a phenomenal skater with nice energy. Purely looking at prior statistics, he's not a proven point producer (if you can't score in the BCHL that raises some red flags). However, that could change in his upper-class years with more development.

Hoff has a higher offensive ceiling than Bowen, Smith, and Yon. I would pin Bowen and Smith as third/fourth liners until maybe their seniors seasons. I'm not too sure what Yon will bring. His junior numbers aren't eye popping other than his goal scoring rate. He has an unreal shot. If he can continue to work on his vision/playmaking he could become an offensive threat by the time he's an upperclassman.

Yeah, they have "eyes in the sky". When a player takes head contact or looks off they pull them to the side to analyze. NHL obviously has more resources (funding) for those types of actions but in theory it should work better. I feel that has less to do with diving and more to do with the concussion lawsuits that will start occurring more and more. But it should deter a play to "act" more hurt than they are if they are trying to draw a penalty. Now this would only work for the high end players...lower end players would gladly sit for some time to get their team a PP.

That's a touchy subject because sometimes it's more of a bruise....and after a few minutes you start feeling better. The pain is there but it's very short term. You can't punish that.

Hopefully Bast can convince Jost to hang around for another year.
-
No, he was staying.

Agree with the tucker comment. I do think he'll play some AHL at some point but not long. Jost needs another college year and so does boeser. Forwards that are "NHL players" while in college absolutely dominate. As I always say, it's not a knock on them whatsoever, college hockey is tough. But another year would suite both of them well from a development standpoint. College teams with multiple NHL ready guys dominate.

Yeah...all those shook me pretty good as well

I could definitely see this scenario happening.

NORTH DAKOTA vs. UNO - SATURDAY Gameday ********

Hahaha. We have a young team I'm hoping the guys continue to develop. Rarely do guys "stay the same" from year to year. Yes, I realize most of our boys (other than Gersich) flatlined this season however I would expect a bounce back year. Other than Ausmus, I would assume T. Poolman, Boeser, and Pogo leave. Jost probably leaves too but I'm really hoping he doesn't. There could always be a wildcard departure too. -
Yeah, there was a ton of tweets firing out that he'd commuted to UNH

We used to beat the brakes off of wahpeton.

I don't I'm responding to the folks posting the same sarcastic comments 10 times over. Either way it is what it is. On to next weekend. -

I never said they shouldn't check their effort levels. I'm saying the seasons not over. Posting the same posts over and over won't change anything. They are either going to figure it out here soon or they're not. This isn't a talent problem it's an effort problem. -

Yeah, there's something just not right in that locker room. It doesn't look like they're having fun. No sense of urgency (which should have kicked in a long time ago). Seasons not over but it's looking iffy. If they get bounced so be it. On to next year. -

Haha some of you guys stay so negative. Seasons not over yet. It's not looking great but it's not over. I'm thinking we'll need to get into the NCHC tourney and win it. Anything can happen. im more frustrated with the lack of effort these boys are playing with. -

Hat trick huh? He had a good opportunity Saturday too but that's the only time I noticed him. I actually didn't notice that line much last night. Which should never happen. -

I still think boeser and jost need to be split up. It's fine to load up a few times during the game but when they are together gersich is a big time third wheel who rarely sees the puck. He was much more productive when it was just he and jost in a line. -

It's all talk. clearly they were uninspired during the first two periods and got it going in the third. Again, inconsistency is the theme however I attribute it more to laziness.
