Actually quite a bit. Also, Edina kids make up BSM, St Thomas academy, Blake, AHA, and a bunch of other schools. It's actually quite impressive.
Edina's JV team could be 2-3 in ND. I watched them last week and was blown away.
Yeah agreed. I honestly think GF should create one Tier 1 team to keep competition high. It worked for bantams and it will work for HS aged kids. You keep the HS teams the same as the kids who don't make the Tier 1 team will still probably win the state tourney. They will also compete with the Sioux Falls Power....who will start plucking GF/Fargo kids left and right (they already have taken top talent). Keep kids under 18 at home.
There aren’t very many good programs in nd. And... gf schools have lost a decent amount of players to juniors and other programs (shattuck, Sioux Falls power, etc)
Agreed. But he dominated last year so playing against bigger kids should challenge him more (just my opinion on development). Also, he plays all spring/summer so the reduced games aren’t that big of a deal. Seasons have flip flopped. Games all summer long train in the winter
Yeah, his positioning in the lineup is very interesting. 3 pts in 3 games is not that great given the amount of goals they have scored and his talent level. He should move up here soon. Not sure if it's the coach keeping him down because of his age or not.
More likely than not, the best players play in the ushl. It’s by far and away the toughest junior A league in NA. Obviously there are high end players in the BC and other Canadian leagues too. But from a depth perspective, it’s the ushl and nothing is really that close.
Ya, if not for all those pps we lost. If the calls were reversed we lose like the night before. We have too many reasonably skilled guys for the pp to be that bad.
We’ve been losing recruiting battles for a little while now. We do have some nice ones in the pipeline. But we’ve lost a bunch too, to schools we typically don’t lose them to. Things need to turn around here soon.
