Very true. I'm biased but there isn't a better d-corp in the nation and Wilcox is a stud. The Gophers are very tough to score on.

Right now the Gophers are looking like the best team in the country which is what I thought they were before the season started. It's tough to picture them getting swept at home but I guess it's possible. Should be a great series and I predict a split.

The location is excellent as there are TONS of eating and drinking options within just two blocks of the arena. The arena just wasn't designed for hockey though. That said, I've seen plenty of hockey games there and I personally don't think its that bad.

Should be a fun game, looking forward to seeing Lucia play for the first time(in person). If Wilcox plays like he has been it's tough to see the gophers losing this game.

Probably shouldn't have counted but I'm not sure Millner ever had control of the puck either. Like you said, probably didnt effect the outcome of the game much.

Because so many nice things were said on this site about Miller and Matteau after they de-committed? I have news for you people. GPL and Siouxsports are nearly identical message boards, with identical opinions, simply different fan bases. I know Gopher fans like to think they're different(better) than Sioux fans and Sioux fans like to think they're different(better) than Gopher fans but in reality the fan bases are more similar than not.

Which will change once we play BC and Notre Dame. Its not the Gophers fault that Michigan State and Vermont are down this year. The schedules are made years in advance.

Actually if you look at their RPI you'll see they've played one of the toughest schedules in the conference.

First of all it's not the BTHC, its the Big Ten. And this is just a snapshot of the teams now. Michigan, Michigan State, and Wisconsin are all historically much better than Miami, Western Mich, UNO, and SCSU who are currently ranked. Those top programs wont stay down for long.

Exactly, you can't get em all. The Gophers recruiting lately has been off the charts which helps soften this blow. Obvioulsy though I was still hoping, and expecting him to be a Gopher.

I didnt realize we were only talking the last ten years but that would include 2 NCAA Titles for Minnesota so explain how UND with zero in that same time frame should be ranked higher.

Are you aware that Minnesota is 157-87 all time against UW? That is total domination throughout the history of the two programs. And you would rank UW higher simply because they have one more title in a quirky single elimination format?

All those categories you mentioned need to be taken into account. I would add NCAA tourney wins and the all time wins in the history of the sport as well.

It's funny that you think its that simple. If you actually look back at the history of Minnesota, UW, and DU there is no argument that the Gophers are far ahead of those two programs all time. BTW, Minnesota has a winning record against all 6 programs you just listed except BU where it is .500

I have to ask, how old are you? The last ten years is not the entire history of college hockey. Minnesota is EASILY a top 3 program all time if not #1.

Right now BC is clearly the best but not historically. Minnesota, UND, and Michigan in any order are the three best programs of all time IMO.
