  1. I'll predict it'll be a little chilly outside... but not yet cold enough where I can leave the few beers I'm going to have outside and expect it to be cold. Idk if that will continue next week against ewu. I'll have to see how this week goes first.

  2. I wouldn't either, luckily i live in town and not Williston like you...Dakota Dan lives in Williston and I already have enough time convincing him to make the same drive to watch this sad blowouts that are over after 20 Minutes.

If it wasn't for tailgating I might not go either...well that and I keep my mom company.

tailgating is always solid... I feel that watching everyone set up tents and the guy I saw sitting underneath a tree in the rain was the most effort I saw all day, and the Pride of the North band. I'll give them a gold star too for their rainy day efforts.

  3. The paper bag is better than boycotting the program....I sat through both of the Montana games, every last second. And will be there every second of every game the rest of the season too! I might not be enjoying it but I will be there!

Cause when UND is at the top again it will feel that much sweeter.

Wear two for me, because I'm not driving 5 hours for that product anymore.

  4. The fact that an announcement hasn't been made yet is concerning. Extremely long-term fans (30+ years of season tickets) that my family has seats next to are talking about not getting them next year. My dad left a game early in the 4th quarter (Montana) for the first time in 20+ years after being nagged by my mom for half an hour. He then left the MSU game early in the 4th quarter by himself. Permanent damage is being done to the program every week we send Mussman onto the field and put him on tv/radio in front of the fans. If he's not fired after the loss to ISU this weekend, hopefully a crowd of 6,500 for homecoming to watch EWU go up by 40 in the first half will be the last straw.

  5. It will be loud only if people show up, and only if UND can stay competitive in the first half. I'm not optimistic attendance will be good. I'll be there, so I hope I'm wrong. Fan morale is probably at about a 25-year low.

I'm coming from Williston again, despite what may end up being my better judgment.

  6. My prediction:

FCS coordinators looking to be FCS HC in the BSC (with a dome and an ITF to recruit with) will be cold-calling Brian Faison asking when the position will be posted and where to send the curriculum vitae beginning Saturday night.

    IALTO

  7. Even better than that would be if the younger guys earn the spot by not only being a better athlete but by producing better and knowing the scheme just as well or better.

    too true

  8. I think they should just let Kuksa go and start and be baptized by fire. Mackey is still nothing but an end zone escort and he's a 5th year senior. Can't wait for he and Hall to be gone. Too bad Reyes hurt his hand in camp and won't get his shirt pulled this year. I'd also like to see Konolowski out there instead of Hall.

I was just going to ask that. Why not just play younger guys and let him earn their lumps? Are we afraid of shattering confidences? They legitimately can't be worse at a lot of positions. I like the baptize by fire idea, these new recruits are at least supposed to be athletes that belong right?

  9. Before I finished reading this thread, I was wondering what kind of impact this would have on a recruit that may read it. I rarely feel that a coaching change will improve a team, but at the college level it all comes down to recruiting. Every coach looks like a genius when he has better players than the guy across the field from him (i.e.Phil Jackson). If our staff has under performed, it has been in the recruiting process. UND has the facilities, a great campus, tons of tradition in multiple sports and has proven in the past that they can compete at a high level. I don't believe Nick Saben knows anymore about football than his counter parts, but I do believe he and many of the top level programs at any level are extremely good recruiters.

I respectfully disagree. Nick Saban is a defensive wiz (despite what Johnny Manziel did to him). Another example of a coach who probably knew more than this counterparts would be Chip Kelly on offense. I bet the examples are countless. Game management, adjustments, game planning... all are things which separate the cream from the crop as well. Yeah, recruiting is probably the majority of most programs success, but that's not luck. That's a skill, too.
