  1. I hope to God that isn't true. It would open up a whole new can of worms. If true, I'd also hope it isn't Wanless' Sac St, their athletic programs and facilities are BRUTAL.
  2. Come on, think about it......I did your game the other night @ the slop.
  3. They have had them on order for this year, but they hadn't come in the last I was told. Legend334 would know for sure.
  4. Dressler was the Gatorade ND state POY, which awards one award to the best player in every state.
  5. I don't get it. What lower "lower divisions" did UND's signees play in that the Bison's didn't. The level at which you think has to be that of a kindergartener, you need to be banned plain and simple. All you do is poison the atmosphere with your dumb ideas and even dumber assumptions.
  6. Stadnyk did sign with Montana today.
  7. Vince, do you know if there are any more yet to come or if there is any money being saved for guys to sign within the next couple of weeks?
  8. The administrator at Badgerstatepreps.com has posted that Kole Heckendorf is most likely headed to North Dakota unless a last minute offer comes up. This is different then what Vince posted, we'll see tommorrow, it is always an interesting and exciting day.
  9. That, I think, is a question that we all have. Shoot, why not just build it to seat 6000 with options for 500 or so more so that the Betty would be able to handle all basketball functions, could host a dual boys/girls state basketball tournament simultaneously between it and the Ralph. It all goes back the the REA wanting to show off "The World's Greatest Hockey Arena", and lets face it, opposing fans, when they get to GF, have to be much more excited and/or curious about playi8ng in the Ralph. There is nothing wrong with wanting that further exposure from their end, but the atmosphere in the REA isn't the greatest for basketball. I feel bad making a big deal over something that was given to us for free, though. For all we know the Betty may provide an unbelieveable basketball atmosphere, so who knows.
  10. Exactly right. College sports and the NCAA has become far too concerned with money, there is the reason for the splitting u pof the games. Why not have 2 nights of 5000+ tickets instead of one? I don't know if you can exactly blame the universities for doing it, but I also think most fans would rather pay double the price for a one night doubleheader then pay for 2 tickets at one game apiece, seperate nights.
  11. Only if they are mini hot dogs .
  12. Another attendence of barely over 5000 for the womens game. The Sioux passing was absolutely brutal, and probably made young basketball players worse for watching them tonight, as they displayed perhaps the worst passing that I have ever seen. But, let me be the first Sioux fan to apologize to the Bison faithful for the low attendence numbers, because we are probably to blame again tonight .
  13. Gene "The Visionary" Taylor was interviewed at the half. He was asked if he could understand the Sioux not playing because of an uneven playing field. He responded that he can understand this in the long run, but in the short term because UND has so many great athletes he doesn't think there will be much of a disparity. He was then asked what he thinks about people in the NCC blaming SDSU and NDSU for ruining the NCC, he had an interesting response. He said that the NCC is a great conference and will find otehr teams that can maintain its high level, but NDSU needs to do WHAT IS BEST FOR THE INSTITUTION. Fair enough, and I have never heard him make that statement. Not playing NDSU is WHAT IS BEST FOR OUR INSTITUTION at this time as well. How come that response works on the NDSU end but doesn't for UND? A member of the media needs to bring this up to "The Visionary", I'd be interested in his response. It is a 2-way street, and I am glad I heard The Visionary say that, it gives UND's response that much more credibility.
  14. Bisonguy, 2 things. Not that it really is an issue, but the parents section was 7-8 rows and 19 seats in each row, I know simply because I was row 3 and seat 13, and one of the people who came with me was same row seat 19, the very seat next to the student section. That is about 150 right there, and I know of 14 others who were there, so there was at minimum of 165 fans with almost nothing to cheer about. Also, the seating issue has to be an old thing. I forget about it every year, only to be reminded once I arrive at my seat and sit/stand miserably for 2.5-5 hours. Is there any reason this hasn't been addressed, because it has to be so uncomfortable for everyone. It surprises me that no NDSU people have raised this issue before.
  15. I cannot ever remember a time in the last 10 years when either school has ever brought many more then 700 fans on the road with them though, so that really isn't an issue. There will be at least 8000 at the REA next weekend, no more then 500 of which being Bison fans. On top of that, no UND fan claimed that NDSU didn't bring its normal number to the football game that didn't officially sellout this year, so blaming UND fans for a poor attendence total for this game is a total cop-out. Anyway, there was no student bus organized. The poice that work the games have really been pains in the butt for UND students as well, to the point where 2 years ago a cop tried pulling his gun on a student waving a large UND flag and doing nothing else. I have a huge problem with the seating set-up at the BSA. The parents/family section that the school alots is pathetic, and the sight lines even worse. It is right next to the student section, which stood the entire game and I couldn't see a thing on the Sioux's 2nd half basket the entire night as I was 6 seats to the side of the students. Then there is an enormous leg room problem, midgets would be left cramped in the bleachers let alone your average sized 6-0 male. These things have been problems for a long time, and really need to be addressed before the move to DI otherwise they will become even larger issues.
  16. Not a whole lot went the Sioux's way last night. They didn't play good defense, and the Bison didn't cooperate in the 2nd half by missing much of anything. I don't know how Erbes gets his shot off, and taking nothing away from him, but some of his buckets he almost threw up there blindly and they went in. Johnson was way too passive from the outside, passing up wide open jumpers and 3's and instead giving a head fake and trying to get to the hole off the dribble. Jacobsen was nonexistent. Rype was passive as ever and took some terrible shots. The only good thing that came out of the game was Aaron Austin is now hopfully back, as he played great on the offensive end and had some good defensive possessions as well. I hope for a good turnout next week at the REA, as the attendence at the Wooden Bleacher Mecca last night was just over 5000, pretty sad really for a 1st place team in the league against their hated arch rival.
  17. Excellent article on Blake Troen. Note the quotes from the Oak Creek HS coach. Oak Creek has an unbelievable football program that puts out unbelievable talent, with one of the top 5 DE's in the country this year, another LB committed to Wisc, and numerous other players at BCS schools. Journal Times Online
  18. Another thing I hope, and really expect, is another step in the positve direction by Aaron Austin. He apparently played pretty well against the Bunnys, but I was told by someone at the Augie game he didn't look very good at all. His conditioning is getting better, and he got 2 3's to go last week. If he can give 8-10 a night, that makes the Sioux SO much better, and the bench that much more servicable. Hopefully with the seemingly added intensity and scrutiny paced over the Bison games he can show people just what he can do.
  19. You can think they are a good rival, but get real. Their football program is average at best, they have an under .500 overall record for the past 30 someting years. A good rival is a threat to you, and isn't a team that is worse then you every single year, which has been and always will be the case with the SDSU football program. They may have the most dillusional fans of all, thinking that they can compete in football when they haven't competed in the NCC for its existence with their 1 playoff appearance, the same number Morningside had.
  20. I would hope to God that the Bison do come inside. The Bison have been great in conference thus far, but Coefield is the only player who worries me. Lindahl presents perhaps the toughest matchup in the conference for the Bison. They can't have the 6-3 Green guard him for obvious reasons.. They can't have Erbes who is 6-5 guard him because he has the footspeed and leaping ability of a bison. Kelchen cannot guard him for the same reason Erbes cannot, and because he is nothing more then a fat blob who simply puts his body on people. May may end up on him, and he is probably thier best post defender, leaving Erbes, who plays with May a majority of the time, on Rype, which is another profound disadvantage for the Bison. Another thing I like is the matchup we have at SF, with Jacobson on Dobmeier, Witt, and the other Green. Once again, that is a gigantic size advantage in the Sioux's favor. I am going to call Jacobson having another great game on Fri playing in Fargo against his buddy Dobmeier, who is 25+ pounds too heavy. Records don't mean a thing in these games, and I really like the Sioux's chances for at least 1 of 2 because of the huge matchup advantages we have on the inside.
  21. I'll restaste your other idiotic points. 1) Carr Sports Associates are "sucky" and not very good at what they do. 2)Carr Sports Associates don't fully understand NDSU's situation. 3) Carr Sports Associates tells everyone the same thing and withholds information from their clients. 4)NDSU knew what they were going to be told from the Carr Report, yet paid $30,000 for their serves anyway. 5)Gene "The Visionary" Taylor cut and pasted what he wanted from the Carr Report, on disregarded the rest because it was already known/the company his employer paid didn't understand the situation. You clearly have no grasp on the situation. Please inform yourself with the actual events/happenings and the people of which you are talking, then come back and try to converse in a civil manner like everyone else, not interjecting, correcting, and putting slants on things that aren't true and no one cares about.
  22. To even suggest that, and I know you are not saying this star2city, Carr Associates "didn't fully understand" NDSU's situation is absolutely absurd. They are paid to study, get to know, understand and they then come up with their advice/recommendations. I listed some of their past clients. It is a cop-out, plain and simple, to even suggest that they didn't understand and the only person who feels that they did't understand is moron1234, no other Bison fan can possibly be that naive.
  23. You really need to get a life and realize that it isn't "fun" to have you on here correcting, questioning, giving your straight out of leftfield ideas that no one else in the world shares. So NDSU hires Carr Sports Associates, a consulting company that has been hired by the likes of the New York Knicks, Kentucky, Florida State, South Florida, George Mason, Troy State, Wichita St, Florida International, Montana State, Harvard, Clemson, Iowa State, and Tennessee to name a few, to STUDY their situation for a minimum of 6 months (and I think more), and they don't fully understand NDSU's situation, yet have been trusted to complete similar tasks, coaching searches, AD searches, and other administrative consultations for the who's who of American universities, and they didn't "fully understand what was going on"? Then what was their purpose, and why aren't North Dakota residents and NDSU fans alike outraged at the fact that NDSU wasted $30,000 of their money?
