  1. Unfortunately, you won’t get nearly that much agreement on what “essential” means.
  2. It's mildly amusing that people are ratting out their neighbors as 'virus deniers.' Wouldn't the better play be just to let natural selection take over and rid the community of us undesirables while the fearful remain safely tucked in their basements?
  3. How does one order bananas that are "not too many, not too few, not too green, not too yellow, and not too bruised" and not get the rest of their food spat upon (or worse)?
  4. LOL at 4th Wave "burnout." As a healthy, moderate consumer in a low-impact area, this thing has had me charred crispy since mid-March.
  5. For pro, shop.nhl.com would be the safest place to ensure authenticity. Each team typically has a team store with both physical and online stores. You might find some occasional bargains at major retailers, who are generally going to be stocking legit stuff, but don't expect to see significant markdowns for current jerseys. You'll be rolling the dice with online sellers such as eBay and Amazon. If it's really cheap, and seems too good to be true, it's probably counterfeit. For college, you can visit each school's bookstore online (as well as athletic departments that have separate pages), but beware that D1 hockey is not as big of a deal in most places as it is at UND, so some items will be hard to find/non-existent. Conference home pages will also have shopping links in many cases.
  6. And just how is "not imploding" objective, and more importantly, how does your proffered standard inform the relaxation of lockdown and stay at home orders?
  7. I've been saying for weeks that the lack of objective criteria for 'success' has done nothing but reduce "curve flattening" and "social distancing" to non-scientific, medically unsupported, populist drivel.
  8. That's a hybrid bulldozer...runs on a combination of Tesla batteries and skateboarder tears.
  9. A new spin on the old video game "Skate or Die." "Skate and Die."
  10. I'm gonna miss Old Chicago. As chains go, that was a good one. https://www.inforum.com/business/restaurants-and-bars/5260653-Old-Chicago-in-Fargo-permanently-closes
  11. Know what else has long lasting effects on the heart, lungs and kidneys? Living.
  12. ICON closed until AT LEAST July 13th. So much for getting the NHL on local ice. Or, maybe...the city is closing the facility TO THE PUBLIC for that long, because the NHL is a go.
  13. I'm usually already horny when I reach for mine. #toasterotica
  14. You keep adding qualifiers that only serve to prove my point. Please just admit that my original post was accurate, and that you overreacted and overgeneralized.
  15. We're already allowing people in grocery stores, department stores, gas stations, and restaurants to be inches apart. If we see a "significant increase in deaths" I assure you it will have nothing to do with haircuts. Especially if you allow haircuts where both parties wear a mask. In fact, I would put stylists and barbers damn near the top of the list of occupations with strong, acquired immunity.
  16. Did you just purposely ignore the difference between wealth and the ability to accumulate wealth to try to make a point? With that kind of leaping you should be in the Olympics this summer...err, next year in Tokyo.
  17. Tad judgmental this morning? Wealth and income are not exactly synonymous.
  18. Best part about the "stimulus" is that high earners who lost their jobs/livelihood due to the lockdown (and through no absolutely no fault of their own) get NOTHING, that is, until they file next year's taxes and can claim a credit. The income threshold for this "relief" is an absolute joke. If you think $175-200k/year for a household is "wealthy," then you are out of touch. Classism is ugly in both directions.
  19. The extended power trip a handful of elected people are on is boundless. If everything's an emergency, then nothing is an emergency. At what point can our slightly more representative form of government (state legislature, city council, etc.) finally get involved. Don't they owe it to us? As flawed as the state legislature is, at least there could be open debate about the necessity, scope, extent, and duration of restrictions. One size does not fit all.
  20. Naturally. I cross-posted this in the Herald’s death-spiral thread.
  21. Kind of like Clint Eastwood’s Oscar for Pale Rider.
  22. Only tangentially relevant, but still...
  23. Ha. The national media can't even be bothered to get the Herald's name right.
  24. Not to be crass, but in the end were her fears justified? Did she die prematurely from a contracted illness? If not, isn't that the lesson here?
  25. Frankly, I'd respect all of them a lot more if they would simply put out an objective set of criteria for moving forward. But...
