I'm the only UND fan that goes to those boards...wish you guys would help me out. I think it's fun talking to the opposing team fans, especially Weber. They have some good guys on there; would be nice to get a few more Sioux fans to represent.

Not sure, but I went to the wiki site and it showed approx. 20 teams that have already accepted invites....didn't see UND yet.

NAU's announcer is the best I've heard this year....he was all over Huff, as he should have been. Good W UND! Beat Weber!

Yeah, it's pretty sad...considering ESPN is the world's premier sports site.

Lakes can be easily ignored...there are plenty of others that like to engage in good conversation. But I will admit that it depends on what team you're playing. The board for KSU was awesome, except that it was all KSU fans doing the talking. Although, I will say that the board for the San Diego State football game was pretty cool. Their fans were giving us all kinds of props and there were even Bison fans on there cheering for us.

I like coming to this site and catching up on the latest UND sports news, but I was wondering why there's never anyone on ESPN during the games? I understand that there are a few Bison idiots that talk smack, but that's part of the game. There are plenty of opposing fans (Weber/ Montana) who are willing to have intelligent conversations. Most of the world has no clue about this site, but everyone knows about ESPN and it would be nice to represent on there just a bit.

Not impressive....our student section has been a barren wasteland all year (except for Montana/ Montana St.).

Maybe they're waiting to officially become members of the BSC first...

I completely agree with what you guys are saying; there are a lot of good ideas floating around on this thread. They definitely need to get rid of the videos where the players are doing the funky chicken. I get embarrassed and I'm watching the game by myself on UND Insider...they're the worst. I'm very optimistic that we're going to see a resurgence in the football program's fan support and I think evidence comes from the spring game's attendance. And as long as UND can stay in the BSC, it can start developing rivalries and there won't be a need for bulletin boards; the students will be out in force. It also won't hurt that every game means something because we're now fighting for a PLAYOFF position. I think we need to give this some time to develop and play out, but campus advertisement will certainly help the short term. One more thought...I really think the students need to feed off of themselves for this to be successful by keeping themselves entertained. You see all the hockey tradition that has been passed down to the students for years. Someone needs to step it up and start organizing chants and what not for football (and all other sports). Wouldn't it be nice if the students would come out regularly, like they did for UND/ NDSU basketball this past year? What a fantastic atmosphere; it would have been great to be a part of that game.

I thought our threads got heated, but these Vandal fans are holding nothing back. I don't blame them given the position they're in right now. I was reading on the Vandal.net link and found one topic to be of particular interest: Montana and Montana State. Does UND already have a future goal of making the leap to the top tier of college football or is this guy just speculating? libertylakevandal Vandal Fan 478 posts this site RE: Montana and Montana St. that may be true, but they (MSU and UM) have the football facilities to move up. We don't and if we go to the Big Sky, we never will. We will end up with EWU, ISU, PSU as our big rivals. Lucky to get 10k for those teams. UM and MSU will eventually move up, probably when North Dakota does. 5 to 10 years.

Has anyone read any threads where the Idaho fans are weighing in on the football program's current situation? Just curious as to what their opinions are....I suppose they don't want to see the Vandals go back to FCS, but might be better than being an independent.

What ever happened with Bamba? If I remember correctly, he was dismissed from the team but I can't recall why.

People will find anything to argue about! Who cares?! That's the style now....leave it at that. Plus, the students are the ones who have to play in them, not you. Why argue something that is so trivial?

This is a huge year for UND....Win the Big Sky and into the NCAA tournament? Maybe wishful thinking, but I'm very optimistic that we'll make some noise in our new home...GO SIOUX!
