Soooooo time to move on..... NAU game this week

You guys have been on almost every board talking about this. I do think Bauman is better. But Deonte is a very different back, he's much more smooth and a little faster. Bauman has those rare subtle shakes between jukes that can't be taught and breaks more than just ankles. Both guys are stronger than they appear and have good vision. You can't go wrong with either one but it's still Bauman. Just go on undsports.com and listen to the post game interview with Dom Bennett and he'll tell you how good Bauman is. -
Unfortunately I don't think Mussman commands the respect from the players not only for him as a head coach but the program
-
Last years run defense was phenomenal. Against d1 teams. Sdsu wouldn't have scored as many points but neither would last years team. Same story against Poly and Sac St and NAU. I'm not saying they would've won but the d wouldn't get run over. Pass defense was the same.
-
It wasn't the obvious call. Just because the result wasn't great because Golladay didn't run the route properly doesn't mean it was a bad call. The same could be said about that 4th and 1 call against usd, only it worked out.
-
I noticed him too. He needs to play more. Henson isn't big or strong enough to handle the job in a 3-4.
-
It's becoming very apparent how good that last crop of 'D2' defenders were at tackling and also how clutch Goska was. The guy couldn't throw to save his life for 3 quarters and then the 4th would roll around with the team having their collective backs against the wall and he would always mount a late charge. It wasn't always enough to win (Poly game Bradley dug too deep a hole for him) but more than not it was. He was one of the best leaders I've seen under center at UND even with such a small sample.
-
Pretty big difference from #2, the point is that bad teams inherently increase their strength of schedule by giving their opponents wins. Look at the other teams on the list, for the most part they suck.
-
If the team doesn't go at least 3-1 in these last games this season will have to go down as one of the all time great failures in UND history.
-
That's because most of those ranked teams have won most of their game giving the teams they play a worse recored and in return weakening their strength of schedule. Had we won the Poly and NAU games we would not be number 2.
-
Those numbers would be way better with a good defense too..... The offense is outstanding. Unfortunately the defense is putrid
-
Montana will throw the ball a minimal number of times.....
-
Why not pull that jumbo play action pass on 4th and 1 against usd last year out of the old bag? We won that game on that call
-
It could look alot like the NAU game
-
Actually it was Bubba who built that program and left quite a nice team behind
-
Cal Poly at 14 is a joke, also NAU doesn't move up at all?

Tale of the tape Defense? If you can call it that.... UND Griz 33.4 ppg 27.6 ppg 228 rypg 105 rypg 214 pypg 256 pypg 14 sacks 25 sacks Offense UND Griz 37 ppg 30.4 ppg 173 rypg 239 rypg 266 pypg 196 pypg 11 TO 18 TO 42% 3rd 38% 3rd So it's their power run game vs our patty cake run defense and our passing attack vs their sieve like passing defense.....
-
This game should be the best attended game in years
-
When the protection is good and routes by the WRs are good Hanson is the man. When things are off and protection breaks down Hanson hangs in there til the last possible moment and gets some throws off to guys as he's getting hit and at least under duress. But watching Marcus come in for 30 seconds and run for 27 yards and then pass for a TD to give UND a chance gave us a glimpse of the Marcus from SDSU... the problem is he didn't give us consistency against Sac St, Poly, and EWU. That is why Hanson is now starting. Marcus had a huge opportunity to grab hold of his senior year and force the coaches to start him but he cooled off down the stretch.

To crank it to 11? All it takes is a clockwise motion with the hand, doesn't seem difficult to me. If they need new speakers they should get them, the ones at the Engelstad spontaneously combusted after 10 years of use so they should get on that before theirs go up in flames too -

NDSU had way better timing with the transition than UND -
They are technically sound enough and rally well enough to the ball to account for lack of speed. I know that NDSU has pretty quick LBs and DBs though. I'm just saying we need a few bad dudes, the likes of which you can't find up here consistently.

Not many of the real fans are giving up on this team. We do, though, have very high standards for this program. We're used to winning and will accept nothing other than that. The transition sucked for timing and now that we're clear of that mess it's time to win. For a program with 25 conference titles a national title and two bowl wins from the 70's we are expecting to be elite within the next 5 years. We should be a perennial FCS power by then and consistently at upper part of the Big Sky. There is no reason that we can't have a winning record from here on out with the occasional rebuilding year here and there.
