I had a conversation at the game with a parent of a player about the slow starts. I guesses that it could have something to do with Bubbas demeanor. I'm not sure he's the type of coach, like my HS coach Berg, who could light an absolute inferno under your ass and get your ready to run through a brick wall head first from the first whistle. If that is true that means the coordinators or captains need to fill that void. There is always someone who can get up and command attention and light that fire. Mussman, I know I know, was really good at it some games. Other games not so much. I also think that the tempo/culture of the offense makes the guys a little flat. It's great if we can get 5 yards a pop on the ground and impose our will. That will get the team fired up. But if we're not capable of that this year we need to try something different, kinda like that long pass on the first play against USD. Unfortunately that was a one play deal and that mo died out real quick. There is no definite answer because multiple things could work for different reasons.

It's a must that Reed and Mercer get going in the offense. We need to get a mix of skill sets out there at WR. I love what our tall white boys have been doing but we need some separation on different types of routes. Seibel coming back at some point should help but in the mean time other guys need to step it up.

They're ahead of us..... http://bobcatnation.com/bobcatbb/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=38568&view=unread#unread the team effort won us a game in dramatic fashion last week. Let's work on a blowout. @MafiaMan still looking at you. http://www.msubobcats.com/roster.aspx?path=football do your worst

Since the strategy to get students to the game is to devalue the product they need to be damn sure the establish some entertainment value when they do come. They were a few min too late on Saturday. Plus that stretch of ineptitude didn't help.

I thought it was Central Michigan?

Rodgers and Lawrence are studs. They looked really good on Saturday and the first two games as well. Wanzek and Toivonen have also proven to be the real deal. Hunt has made plays and looks sharper each game. Bennet has been disruptive when he's in there and has a noticeable burst. Cloyd got his first action and I hope they make the most of it because he is a beast. That's a lot of true and RS FR making major contributions.

What kind of dad would get his kid a pretzel when there are dip n dots?

Big picture there are things sports teach you like stick-to-itiveness when facing adversity, learning how much investment is required to be great at something, and working in a team towards a common goal. Sports are very very important. There are stats on top of stats that show at the very least an undeniably strong correlation that athletes are better students and more successful later in life.

What's the reason for lack of participation by the students at the game? That's one of the best parts about a good student section. Slapping the seats on third is great but I didn't really see anything else other than booing the new nickname and some sioux chant at the beginning.

Thanks for stopping by. I'm sure we all have a bunch of questions for you since there has been such a change in your program. Can you fill us in on the basics? Scheme and tendencies and if there are any new contributors not named john Walker or the two QBs you mentioned. Expectations for the season and for this matchup. Thanks.

Hopefully Cloyd getting in last game is a sign that they will increase the looks to the TEs. I also think we should throw more back shoulder stuff to our WRs. They are tall and reliable and ate USD alive on back shoulder throws.

The edge that Aplin plays with could be contagious for that unit. I'm very open to the coaches trying some new combos out.
-
Not sure. They need to try something different with the OL. They are holding the offense back in every way possible.

Easy beer and bathroom access. Everyone is rowdy. Best view in the while place. And I don't like sitting in general, I'd rather lean on the rail.
-
The south catwalk was rowdy as usual.

They played 'Til I Collapse' a few times yesterday. That's progress in my book.

I noticed Tyus was without his shoulder pads on the sideline. Hope he is ok. I assume that's why Hunt played so much after that jackass move to get a taunting penalty that changed the game.

There was tons of Hawks stuff at the game yesterday. It was also the best tailgate I've seen in a LONG time. Best crowd in 7 years was great but the fans weren't all that great at making noise until the end. Not that they had a lot to cheer for when we had 6 consecutive three and outs on offense. But still.

Yea it was. My mistake. Hunt made some really good plays. I thought he had that pick in OT.
