That's a healthy jump. They just can't put SDSU behind us though, they just can't do it. I think we should be the top ranked 2 loss team, but that might just be me.

Another factor is that NAU is notorious for choking down the stretch like clockwork.

I'm pretty nervous for this game because NAU has the best set of WRs outside of EWU. Butler is a future NFL player with great size. I hope Harris is they type of DB that can give him trouble. Butler isn't a burner so I'm thinking the length of Harris could be effective if he play disciplined. They have a bunch of other good ones though so Hunt better be ready. To me this game is all about us being able to run the ball. They have a fast defense so if we can run right at them it will be a long day for them. They allow about 4 ypc this year. They allowed 4.2 to MSU who can't throw so I think we should be ok. If we can get their QB to rush things we will win. If not it will be a long day.

A playoff bye would end up being more like 3 weeks between games. Sure we would be well rested but we'd run into a team that was sharp enough to win a playoff game the week before. I'd say it's a good thing if we can get a w in that first game because our guys would have the advantage of the extra week of rest over other teams late in the playoffs. It's a true catch 22. Let's just beat NAU.
