There's no reason to not compete. The teams we're playing aren't that good. Sac St is not good, we need to win that game no matter who is playing.

He needs to empty the chocolate milk fridge after every workout. At least 6 if not 8 milks every workout. 5 large meals a day. Extra lifts in his spare time. When Rattelle came in he was 230 and didn’t look like he had room for another ounce of muscle. He left UND at about 255. And he got faster. Rastas and a bunch of his teammates need to commit to that lifestyle, it sucks but it’s worth it.

Judging by how skinny he is, Rastas could put on 30 lbs and get around 220. He would be faster and have a little more burst with that added strength. I hope he can get it done because I like his heart.

He’s our leading tackler now. He gets better each game. If he can even gain 20 lbs this winter that would be huge.

When I read his comment I was thinking national championships. Not sure if he meant it that way.

We won a lot of games in spite of our offense against a collection of teams with average defenses at best. The offense was painful last year at times. The d bailed them out with turnovers again and again.

Zim is our most efficient qb according to the stats.

You’re thinking of Blake Williams from Winnipeg I think. Rashad, Beck, and Camy weren’t D1 players. Slaight never showed up. Those 5 are on recruiting. Adams, they took a flyer on him but his knee wasn’t able to get where it needed to be. Can’t coach a knee. Same with Francis, and Merz. Injuries forced them out. Taylor was apparently an idiot. Grady had his issues and life responsibilities. Can’t really put any of these on a coach. But what about Dan Bell, Matt Cox Brandon Miller, Adam Steiner, and Blair? All underachieving. Have to put that on the coach.

Usually a position groups success and failure is attributed to the position coach.

Because the upperclassman can’t hang after 3 years of his coaching.

One thing that really bothers me about Rudy's playcalling is the jet sweep action. Not so much that it exists because it can be a great tool if used properly but how he uses it. Firstly, he often has one of our slow plodding WR's attempt it. That's never going to work. 6'3"-6'4" slow WR's are not the jet sweep body type, maybe Randy Moss, but not our guys. Running it with Izzy is a better option as we saw on Saturday. Secondly, the use of the jet sweep action followed by smashing the RB right up the middle blows my mind. All that does is bring another body into the already stacked box. It just doesn't make sense. No team respects our jet sweeps. They don't need to. Maybe next year with Izzy, Griebel, and McKinney it will be more successful, especially if it's a different OC.

They could bring in Mussman to coach the OL and it would be a huge upgrade.

Our second line should be written in stone for the foreseeable future. They had nice chemistry and made stuff happen. Gersich seemed off last night. Maybe trying to hard to prove something. You could tell the gophers weren’t used to that level of physicality. I think it’s a shame that game was put out of reach with the major. I would have liked to see how things would have played out 5v5 in a tight game.

You have to know a guy to get one.

I’m not about to give up on him. Yet.

For starters how about an offense that is relatively easy to learn. Then one that is plastic each week and can exploit the opponent’s weaknesses. Too much to ask?
