GVSU was suppost to play them next year. Word was we had penned a home and away series with them. I kinda think they had bit of a Notre Dame complex, thinking that they are too good to get into a conference. Notre Dame has made it work because of their large fan base and are always a draw whereever they go. However, you can't tell me that Notre Dame wouldn't be better off if they got themselves into the Big Ten like they should have had years ago, lots of their other sports teams have suffered by having to play in the Big East conference. Anyways, not every D2 school can afford to help cover a teams travel expensives. New Haven should have gotten into the Northeast-10 conference Yeah, we know its weak with mostly D3 level talent, but it would have given them a lot shorter road trips. And they could have always schedule the one tough non-conference game. Plus, having a team that has played outside of their little pool there in the NE-10 could have been the kick in the ass that the rest of the conference has needed for a long time.

SDSU may hate NDSU, but how much does NDSU hate SDSU?? From what I have gathered from here and from GVFOOTBALL's board when we had a bunch of people from NDSU on there during the NC game week trying to stir up more trouble between GVSU and UND, I'm willing to wager that the UND/NDSU rivalry is a hellava lot bigger than what NDSU/SDSU is on any day of the week. for a good rivalry, the hatred must be equally felt on both sides of the ball when you line em up to go at it.

just a thought here that i have had. perhaps the real reason why all the NDSU fans are all up in UND's grill about how they should step up to the next level is that they want to sweeten the deal with the DI-AA conferences by getting the both of you into the same conference at the same time, using your big rivalry as the main selling point.

well put there TNT. UND beat NDSU, get over it already!! I thought the guys from Sag-Nasty Valley were bad. Bottem line here, at the end of the year, UND was in the championship game. Where was NDSU? Contracting a case of frostbite back home most likely. Besides, ain't they now DI-AA now? Shouldnt they start to go bother some DI-AA schools board now?? And leave all of us poor, pitiful teams that are stuck in the mudhole that is D2 alone? P.S. --I was being sarcastic when refurring to D2 as a mudhole.

going back to the NU firings. seems kinda stupid to me to fire off all the assistants. you should keep 2 or 3 that have a good repore with the players, to help keep the peace if you will. things might be interesting in Lincoln next year, but i wouldn't look for them to win the Big 12 next year. then again, who knows right?? there is a reason why they play the games. well, other than when it comes to picking out a true National Champion.

how exciting would it be when they would drop the gloves and start throwing haymakers. what red blooded male wouldn't enjoy that?

what about talk that the PAC-10 might pull out of the BCS and get together with the other non-BCS confrances, the MAC, C-USA, MWC, WAC and the Sun Belt to set up their own playoff system. rumor has it that the PAC might even get the Rose Bowl to be that system's national championship game. would be herculean effort to pull it off, and the first year or two might have some pretty bad playoff games played. but i think the demand will be there once they get the ball rolling and other confrances will join in pretty fast.

hey, i know its tough losing parts of your coaching staff, but it what happens in college football. hell, if i had a dollar for every time one of the MAC schools have tried to take our Coach Kelly to be their new savior, well, i sure would have a lot less i would have to pay back in student loans. right now the with the realinement going on in D-1A, there is a lot of flux, exspecially with the MAC. and there are some new rules out, that to be D-1A you have to average a certain number of attendence to be eligable. so, there are going to be a few teams droping down to D-1AA, and most of those schools have been trying to get ahold of Kelly. some of them just aren't really the top draw in town anyway. Who would want to go to a Eastern Michigan game when there's a Michigan game going on? we all know at GVSU that Kelly will one day leave, but hopefully it will be for really good job. hope your bubba has some success.

they still should go to a playoff system, something like we have here in D2. while D2 selection and seeding is a little to be desired yet, (see bentley being picked over IUP), at least we can fairly say, that when the dust settles on saturday, that we will have an undisputed national champion. lord knows what kind of mess its going to be in D1a. i was born and raise within shouting distance of the Big House and i was quite excited to hear that they where going to the Rose bowl. know that now i can sit back at home new year's morning, eating my Momma's cookin', watching the rose bowl parade and then go watch michigan wack somebody. but now, i'm kinda torn between cheering for michigan to win, or to see USC win and totally fudge the BCS up. the arguement is that fans dont travel to playoffs. bull schitt!!

we have a club hockey team i believe. working on making it official.

we had a lot of Sag-Nasty fans on our own message board last week talking a lot of trash. even at the game there they attempted to recreate the whiteout that we did to them when they beat us at our place in Oct. with some shirt that said GVS....who?? we had more of our fans pack into their crappy little stadium. and guess who came out the winner this time with the last laugh? so, let's all remember there is a reason why they actually have the playoffs here in D2, and what is said on message boards does little but incite the other side. also, to the North Alabama fans, we would like to mention that we haven't had any home playoff game this year; we had to play at Bentley, who's field was so high school, and im talking a dirt poor high school. Go sioux!! and see you in Bama.

do you have any idea of how many Lakers here would love to see that happen?? still would mean that a lot of their fans would be at the game just to boo you guys. (note that i just said to boo you guys, i'm way too superstitious to say that the lakers are going to win for sure.) Go Sioux!!

hey, i was just wondering where you got those attendence numbers at?? i'm thinking of putting them up on our site for the GVSU lakers. not many people showed up for your game eh?? our game against bentley the stadium was full, but thats not saying much cause i've played at high schools that had a better field and more seating than them. to think we had to drive 15 hours for a game at that place. not to mention how that in the away section, they had some of their fans sitting there. a few of them was trying to bait us into getting into a fight, but we just flipped them off and went back to cheering on our lakers. not that we needed too!! the score was a lot closer than what it should be. word has it that the officals work for the PSAC and that the PSAC have been trying to get the GLIAC moved to the midwest confrance, cause they can't beat most of our top teams strait up. we had 18 flags thrown at us. our guys were almost running around with their arms inside their jersey's to keep from getting some flag. and their big stud qb, probably somewhere in the fetal possition still, trying to find a happy place. oh, and to the guy who had all the homework and stuff? shut up!! i have about the same amount of stuff to do too, but i still went on the Laker roadtrip that took 15 hours just to get there. you had a home game!!! thats at worse, 4 hours out of your day, depending on how much tailgating you want to do. anyways, we got the matchup we all was wanting, the only team to beat us since you guys did, and we are all looking forward to it. good luck with your next game, and the lakers shall see you in Bama!!

hey, i'm a rabid fan of the GVSU Lakers. Its good to hear even you guys are ripping on Bentley and how we gotta go all the way out to freakin' Boston. oh well, a bunch of us are loading up in vans and going anyway. hope to meet you guys in the playoffs.
