  1. CBS would cut away to commersal, or will get the audio from a differnent part of the stadium where they can pick up the game sounds without all the chanting. *just like they did in those insidents with the Tit and the Streaker, who, bless his heart, got no attention after Janet and even got Terry Tated for his trouble.* In the stadium it wouldn't sound a lot to have a small section of people chanting with swears, but get one of them big funky microphones pointed that way and people watching the game at home ear's would start bleeding. Michigan makes way too much money for lots of people. A few of their players are known to get really good lease deals on SUV's, if y'all know what I mean.
  2. Jav Fan must be looking to stir up trouble i guess. *Not that there's anything wrong with that!* He posted the same list at GVFootball. anyways, here's my 2 cents. 1. GVSU - Like I'm going to put anybody else here 2. North Dakota - A close second 3. North Alabama - Don't think they ain't pissed off about last year?? They'll have an ax to grind. 4. TAMUK - They got Whooped on by GVSU at their house. They could be a team with a big chip on their shoulders next year. 5. Catawba 6. Pittsburg State - Gorillaz in the mist? 7. SVSU - and it pains me to put Saggy there!! 8. Tarleton State 9. Mesa State - A dark horse pick. 10. IUP - The Beast of the new Northeast!! *snicker!!*
  3. The NCAA is kidding themselves if they think they could ever effect student behavior at sporting events. I live near Ann Arbor and have intimate knowledge of the carnival atmosphere that is a Michigan football tailgater. I've seen guys out on their porches at 8 o'clock in the morning, with a sign out in front that says "You honk, we Drink." There is very little they could do to curb student behavior short having the 1 to 5 ratio of cops to students. And then thats just to control the students, not to mention all the other sceratiy they need at the game. Its just not cost effective. And there is no way they could toss that many people out of michigan stadium without having a riot on their hands. Its going to hurt little Timmy a lot less if he hears a little cussin, than if he gets caught up in a riot.

    Harry Carey

This Thursday, Feb. 26, The Harry Carey foundation is having their 6th annual, Toast to Harry for charity. Their goal is to raise one million dollars for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Following the Toast, they will distroy the Cursed Ball that Bartman deflected from the glove of Alou. Here's to Harry
  5. Somehow i doubt that number, but even that number is close, then where are you getting all the Homo Hate from UND from? Some random acticle about how UND isn't giving out same sex benifits?? Big whoopi-Doo Igor!!
  6. Looks like whatever that was keeping Bisonfan1234 somewhat calm lately has warn off again. He is trash-talking and being hateful, without any evidence to back it up. Time for Igor to take his medicine!! Igor!!!!
  7. Ok, this might set off a fire storm here, but i'll ask the question anyways. Is there any NCAA rule that says that you cannot have a football game during the spring against another college team that wouldn't count towards the playoffs in the fall?? If there isn't UND and NDSU could easily have a game there, call it the Nickel Bowl if you want to and can get a sponser for it. Just a thought anyways.
  8. *Ah man, I'm so tempted to spout off here about GVSU winning the "Road Trip from Hell" but i just can't bring myself to do it here.* Anyways, I wouldn't feel too cocky about my team chances in the playoffs if they didn't at least win one or two tough road games in the regular season. It takes a certain kind of attatude to be able to go into somebody's house, hit them right in the teeth, and walk on out of there with a win. Getting a taste of that, Ladies and Gents, is how Champions are made.
  9. holy *shibby*!! for once, Bisonfan1234 has had a pretty intellegent post for once. i don't quite see it being a 2 division, scholorship or non-scholoship. I think it would break down more like five divisions for football. first off, the top division would be from the BCS schools, once they get off the damn bowls and do a real playoff system!! The second division would be the non-BCS DI-A schools, like those from the MAC, plus some of the better DI-AA teams. Third would be the lesser DI-AA schools, plus the cream of the cream D2 schools. Fourth would be the rest of D2 with a couple of the D3 heavyweights. And fifth would be whoever is left, D3, NAIA, and JUCO's. Max scholorships would go to the big boys at the top and would decrease as you go down. The strength of scheduling would be fixed so that a team isn't hurt as much for playing a team thats a division up than playing a team thats a division down.
  10. NDSU fans are beating a dead horse. It's not going to happen no matter how many Bison cry about it. And about the only thing the ND legislature can really do to try to get UND and NDSU to play is to treaten to slash state funding to the schools if they don't play. So, unless you can get that to happen or an Act of God, NDSU and UND won't play together next year.
  11. AFL 101 - RULES Are you so sure about that man?? Or have you been smoking the funky Astroturf again Igor?
  12. Last time I checked, we don't need much of an excuse to go drinking. the only thing we need to go drinking is the alcohol!! Yeah, NBC has been hurting from not having NFL. Lot of that has to do with that failed XFL if you guys can reach back into your memory's and remember that.
  13. hey, all they have to do for it to count as a swimsuit shot, is to at least have the swimsuit somewhere within the picture.
  14. Thats just all you guys need after that so interesting story SI did on North Dakota in that Sports in America segment they have on Curling. Not that there is anything wrong with curling, but I could have just imagine the collective groan that would have came out of your state's tourism office about it. They could have attoned for past grievances against you by doing a good story about the UND/NDSU rivalry, or maybe something about the UND hockey team perhaps. *At least you guys stood a good chance of getting that kind of story, for Michigan, it was going to be either Michigan-Michigan St. or Michigan-Ohio St.* So, if this legislation does get tagged as the Sign of the Apocalypse, you're hockey team should refuse to grant any interviews to out of state media until SI does one of those swimsuit issue shoots involving your state. Or more exactly, Heidi Klum with nothing but a hockey stick, skates, and a thong at center ice in the REA. oh, and just for kicks, here's some more whining about SI and how they treat programs that ain't a bigtime football or basketball program. Snubbed by SI
  15. You know, you would think after enuff verbal punishment, Bisonfan1234 would sooner or later get bored and stop coming here to keep taking more abuse. But I'm beinging to think that he's one of those S&M freaks that gets off on pain and misery. And not just gentle spanking, i'm talking about that S&M that you need a dungon for. He probably even has a whole collection of Peeing Porn and German Schei
  16. Thanks for pointing that out for the rest of us. Lord knows a lot of crazy things happen in the stands during games that can get well out of hand. Lord knows i've have heard a few things said in the stands by GVSU fans that would make a combat tested Marine blush! Heck, I've seen fights almost break out right next to me. There was this one girl student a few rows back of me during the NC game that was in a shouting match with an older couple because she was sitting there smoking right there in the stands, and blowing smoke right in their faces. She wasn't all that nice at all about it. *not to mention that only an IDIOT smokes anyways!! * Then there was my personal favorate, a charactor I met when a bunch of us GVSU fans did the 15 hour roadtrip out to Boston to see the Bentley game. We are still kicking ourselves for not getting a picture of him, so that we could us it as some sort of Tshirt or something. Anyways, this gentlemen, who we refer to as Doogie, had the shear gall to sit right next to us, with maybe 2 or 3 friends of his, and to rip on us, our cheers, how we drove 15 hours to get to their rinky-dink HS field, our team, and how Bentley was going to stomp GVSU. This guy could have singlehandedly give some of the more intellectually challenged Bison fans a run for their money for shear stupidity. Even at the end of the game, he was still there, trying to pick a fight with us. And when he finally left, he left us with this parting gem, "At least we can still drink!" He made all of Bentley look stupid that day, when most of their fans went out of their way to be nice to us, offering us food and drink. Heck, one guy even moved his motorhome so we could park our van. We were even thinking of chanting a little "Yankee's Suck!" as our way of saying thanks to all of the Boston Area crowd. The point here to all of this is that every crowd is going to have their bad apples in the bunch, that are going to cause trouble no matter what. But your AD is right to ask that the fans try to police themselves when it comes to these matters. Because, no matter what the Officals in Charge might try to do to keep things from getting way out of control, there are those who are not going to be happy with any widespread policy that they will hand down and will have to enforce. The less they have to do to keep the crowd under control will be better for everybody. *personal favorate taunt ever - UC Davis @ GVSU - 2002 - "Where's your surfboards?"
  17. then please, explain to us how Swiming, Diving, Triathlon, and Gymnastics would all fit into your defination of Summer Sports when they don't need to wear shoes all the time in them. and how are shoes not special apparatuses? the only way you could not have those in sports if they went all natreal like they did back in the first olympics in Greece.
  18. The only true olympics are the Summer Games because the Winter games are consumer driven shame? Hmmm.... must be you wasn't even out of diapers in 96 when the games where in Atlanta, where McDonald's, Coke-Cola and other companies had spread their corperate feces all over the place. They had to double check all the Japanese flags to make sure they didn't grab some flag that had the Coke-Cola logo on it. Too bad you're not from TEXAS!!!
  19. Holy Dog*shibby*!! Hockey is a winter sport numb nuts!! Athens is hosting the Summer Games!! This guy just might be a long lost brother of Doogie!!! I bet that guy is only a braincell away from having to wear one of those Hockey helmets all the time. *Special Ed* YEAAAHH!!!
  20. We've been saying over at GVFOOTBALL that now the New Northwest Region, the next couple of NC's are going to come out of there, in a GLIAC vs. NCC showdown in the Regional title game. When UND going at Ferris, lot of people are going to be watching that game, to get perhaps a fleeting glance at how both conferances match up. While Ferris hasn't been as dominate in the GLIAC lately, they are useally a tough team to beat. Not to mention that they are also one of GVSU's biggest rivals. We even have a trophy between us, called the Anchor-Bone Trophy. GVSU leads the series 19-12, and the last time they won it was back in 98. *Don't you guys think its time for Ferris to move up to DI-AA and come crying to GV that the rivalry is goint to die??** Anyways, lot of us are going to be torn between cheering for UND to win, or, *gulp* actually swallowing our pride and cheer for Ferris to win. Eh, forget that!!! FERRIS SUCKS!! FERRIS SUCKS AGAIN!! AND FERRIS SWALLOWS!! Sorry there, got a little carried away, but it just rolls off the tongue so easily.
  21. Geez, whats so bad about playing in Meeeshigan?? You guys are talking about it as if it was some real armpit of the world, like New Jersey or Ohio. Its not that bad to live here fellas.

    Hyslop?

eh, if all else fails, you could always turn it into it into an indoor golf driving range. It would be a good place to pump your alumni for more donation money, not to mention improving the quality of your golf team. that is if you have a golf team. Do you know why they call it golf?? Because of all the other Four Letter Words where already taken!! Grudge-Match Golf Game!
  23. AMEN to that brother, it was all worth it to listen to all of those serious newscasters talk about the story, and then watching Jon Steward dive into on The Daily Show. personally, i don't see the big deal about it all, she only popped one out, and you could bearly see whatever decorration she was wearing on her nipple, unless you happen to TiVo it, or have gone to some website offering to show it to you. anyways, my point to the topic at hand. GVSU has one open spot, sept. 25 open as of the moment due to New Haven droping football. From what i have heard, most of our offers to fill that date are DI-AA losers. nothing all that promising as well as i know it. I for one would love to hook up with the Sioux again, and get into a great debate about indoor versus outdoor playing. Unless the planets aline, the Lakers won't play UND on that date, and they'll be stuck either with some DI-AA team. *and just a disclaimer against those bison people, as far as i know, the lousy DI-AA teams they are talking to don't include you!!*
