  1. Its not that we're not big on fan buses, its just that amazingly, the University or the Alumni never really bother to put together a team bus for broke student types like myself. Sure wish they would. Oh well, 14 hours in a rented van can be all the more fun. Especially with some of the student bodies that GVSU has.
  2. I know it is Diggler, those Monkey's seem to think the world revolves them sometimes. GVSU got seeded sixth and is on the road. Right now we're just happy to still be alive in the playoffs. The most wonderful fact is though, dispite whoever wins GVSU-UND and Pitt-NWMSU, the Northwest winner will have to travel to the Southwest winner. Would be even better if one of us was to go into the Jungle there, and beat them there, just to shut their Banana holes. *Puns fully intended.
  3. *Muttering under my breath* Put it on TV. Put it on TV. */Muttering under my breath*
  4. Well, the showdown we have all been expecting and hopeing for all year, although I'm sure you'll agree that we've both had to jump thru a few more hoops to make it all happen. Who would have thought a Fifth seed would ever meet at sixth seed? Anyways, here's to an epic game to be played. The Monster will be seeing you guys soon, as soon as I figure out how to get my butt up there to GF. Also, as a side note to any GVSU fans, or anybody Posing as a GVSU fan: Please, don't be a Dumbass here.

  6. The trick is to pool together your money to go.... Just gotta find one person that can rent one of those big passenger van, and then find a bunch of people to split the cost will. Say it takes about oh, lets figure a little high here, shouldn't nearly be this high for you, to rent a van, get the added insurerance! for it, and to put gas in it there and back to the game, No hotel room, for say 400 dollars. You get 10 people in on that, and its only about 40$ per person. you take turns driving, the rest sleep on the way there in the back seats, and if so needed, I'm sure you could find somebody there that does have a hotel room where you all could grab quick showers, or at least freshen up a bit. Thats how a bunch of us GVSU fans got to Boston last year to watch the bentley game, and that only was about 50$ there and back and we took toll roads most of the way there.
  7. Its the shortest roadtrip you guys will have. If both UND and GVSU both happen to win, you guys got a home game to save your travel money on. get out there to Tech. They bearly get 3,000 there, a good thousand roudy fans will probably neutralize the Native Yooper crowd. Plus, its now Gun season here in Michigan, so its likely a lot of them are out, sitting in the woods somewhere. (don't forget your orange vests!) Its just under 500 miles. An easy trip to pull off if you rent a big fan and get a few people together to chip in on it.
  8. You guys ever heard of Gordon Lightfoots's "Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald"? Lake Superior ain't no picnic. very unperdictable. Edmond Fitzgerald explaination Weather can change at the drop of a hat. Not saying that UND hasn't seen some nasty stuff before or anything, but its very unperdictable. They may dress for weather thats cold but sunny, and right after kickoff you could have freezing sleet coming down. If the weather turns nasty, its going to be anybody's game, and whovever can find the endzone, and if the Ref can see them, they'll win.
  9. As one of the GVSU voices here, guess I should say something here I guess. I am kinda torn here about all these, do I pull for Tech and GLIAC dominanance or do I really wish to bring down Lakers-Sioux III upon us all? Either way, I'm looking at a roadtrip, so no advantage there. Tech does play outdoors in the elements where God ment football to be played, but it is out there on Lake Superior in the end of November. Not likely to be all that warm and hospitable. However, UND does play in a Dome, so the only weather to worry about is the drive weather. And I am slightly curious as to how the Al is during a game. Then again, do I really want to know that?? Lucky for me, with the green face paint on, I might blend in amongst you, but the rest of my fellow Laker Nation may not fair so well. However, the chincher is that SiouxMeNow has promised me a free Grinder at the Red Pepper there if we go, so I guess I'll have to lean that way into who wins this weekend as far as UND-Tech. However, I'll probably be a little more worried about the game at hand for us this weekend against Northwood, and getting sweet, sweet revenge!!!
  10. If that was true, then there's no way GVSU would have traveled to Bentley last year, or would have GVSU travel to Winona or Northwood. They want teams to go out and earn the Home Field Advantage, even if their opponents fans will travel well enuff to nuetralize it pretty much.
  11. Keep driving until you see the sign for the End of the Earth, then, keep driving, its only another 2 miles after that.
  12. Thats as closely guarded secret as an Yooper's prime huntin' spot is up there right now. Haven't really found Boo about their QB and if he'll be playing or not.
  13. Damn, UND and GVSU both have games that went down to the wire today. Whats in the water in Minneasota today???
  14. your D gotta stop Cloud one more time....
  15. Time?? Score Please???
  16. Winona misses a FG as time runs out. Lakers win!!! 16-13
  17. GVSU 9 WSU 0 Just started the third.
  18. One game at a time fellas. We both got tough roads to go before there could even be a Lakers-Sioux III this year. We both have 2 road games to win first.
  19. Yeah, the guy really hurt his eye with a shuttleCOCK. You'll put an eye out with that thing!!
  20. Any of you guys members of the Sioux Band?? If so, I just might be able to pass something along to you that just might peak your interests here pretty soon..... Lets just say that it could end up being a 2 for 1 deal here.
  21. Well, I guess its really safe to say now that UND is truely a Hockey school that happens to have a football team. Who else would invoke a conspircey to have the WCHA teams knock each other out of the playoffs when the playoffs involve Football.
  22. I would have to agree with you there. There will not be any cakewalks in this region at all. No team went undefeated, and its pretty hard to pick a favorate to come out of it. It's got the GLIAC co-champs in at the bye week spots, and the two teams that played in the NC game last year are 5 and 6. Throw in St. Cloud and Winona - the Rodney Dangerfield of the NW region, "No respect I tell yeah!", its going to be an interesting 3 weeks here.
  23. Not to mention how great a recuiting tool that would be. All off the kids from some of the best teams around watching a D2 playoff game??
