  1. The employees of the LTC facilities often have kids, or in some cases are high school kids, so yeah, the numbers likely would've been higher. Now what's the result when it's all plugged into the societal cost-benefit formula? Who knows.

I see those same messages and when I go to the show pagesource tab, I get a message stating the page is read only. Is that the issue you're getting too?

    The Herald

There are 2 ways to get a click, which is really the only thing the media cares about now. Write a good article or write an exceedingly bad article. McFooly excels at the latter. He gets people to link his takes here, on other forums, and on social media, resulting in even more clicks. Stop clicking on his articles and the problem will eventually take care of itself.
  12. I think one of the stated reasons in NYC was the need to get the medical professionals and other "essential" employees to their workplace. I'm not familiar enough with either city to say whether their commuting situations are comparable or not though. The 2 cities/states certainly didn't react in the same manner at the same time. Politicians will politic though.

  18. USS Comfort will leave NYC after treating 179 patients in 3 weeks. NYC says the conversion of the Javits Convention Center into a temporary hospital reduces the need for the medical ship. Turns out the ship wasn't ever really necessary, but it's good to hope for the best but be prepared for the worst.

  20. I don't blame the hospitals for adjusting quickly, it's to be commended. I simply disagree with drawing too strong a conclusion from this analysis of data that could be seriously flawed.
  21. Any concern that this was simply a retrospective analysis rather than a properly controlled, randomized study? Edit: NM, found it https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.04.16.20065920v1.full.pdf

  24. In the age of twitter, all nuance and context are lost. Unfortunately it goes both ways and important decisions are being made based on headlines, rather than underlying information, both in this fight and in life before the Rona.
