  1. They're college kids and they're drinking, it's what college kids do. I don't think this is anything to get too worried about. Hak's disciplining them plenty with the scholarship reduction IMO, as minors in college are usually the result of bad luck. All 3 players are 20, so hopefully they don't have much longer to worry about the GFPD.
  2. Unless I'm misremembering, Miller committed, got drafted into the NHL, then left for the CHL that summer basically right before he was expected on campus.
  3. Seth Jones and JT Miller are 2 recent ones. No, Jones never did commit to UND, but it was down to us or the CHL.
  4. I don't think this year's team had a "game" to force upon the opponent. The lines were being changed so often and there was so little consistency that a team identity never got a chance to be established.
  5. Perhaps the Y's are providing their "it" power this year.
  6. Game 3 against Tech and both games in Omaha?
  7. Research and academics are 2 very different things.
  8. I'll argue with you on academics and integrity. I know you're young (16?) and probably don't remember, but when ndsu was trying to get into the BSC they had a president by the name of Chapman. Bresciani hasn't improved the integrity of the place by much.
  9. I can't believe the Presidents haven't voted to remove us yet!!!
  10. Many teams are, however, if you look at Alabama or even ndsu you'll see it's not really in the team's best interest.
  11. So you're saying a coach who doesn't look great at another school right now could replace Hak and win us 4 national titles?? And I thought there was nobody out there to replace him with.
  12. Sorry Maine, I'm going to take a year off and then head on over to Michigan State.
  13. What was UND's record without Huff this year? Hmm.... could they be related?
  14. It will take some time for the corporate hacks to push the good doctors and nurses away....
  15. Ah my bad. Well I guess the development of D-men under Eades was even worse than I thought. Now the only one he can claim is Finley.....
  16. I just think it's weird that the Summit is SO much better than the Big Sky in basketball and yet both conferences got just 1 team into the tourney and both of those teams had the same seed.....
  17. Because Lee developed so well here under Eades?? I stated Eades did well with defensive defensemen (Commie and Greene). The ncaa is no longer allowing us to develop defensive defensemen, so UND brought in a coach who is better at developing offensive defensemen. Wisconsin might have an argument to make with your statement about UND being the place to go for NHL defense prospects too.
  18. Would Hakstol have created a new game plan?? Absolutely not. Would we have won the next 2 games?? Absolutely.
  19. If Forbort sticks around I say he gets the C. If Forbort signs then stick it on the General for 2 years.
  20. There were people who thought Marto would play in the NHL?? I think Kristo will spend the majority of his time in the AHL with a few stints in the NHL. If the same question had been posed last year I would've agreed that he would spend some time in the ECHL, but he improved a lot for his senior year. IMO, he showed for the first time this year that he actually cared enough about winning to try, whereas in previous years I always viewed him as a lazy showboat who couldn't pass the puck.
  21. I felt Forbort's improvement from last year to this year was quite impressive. Although I appreciate most things Coach Eades did at UND, developing defensemen for the NHL wasn't, IMO, one of his strong areas. He was very good with "defensive defensemen," but didn't seem able to do much to improve the more offense-minded players. Personally, I have always preferred to have the lock-down defensive players at UND and didn't care much for the puck-handling, offensive defensemen. However, after watching Big Mac get called for a penalty every time he touched another player this year, I recognize the NCAA isn't going to let us play a bruising defensive style anymore.
  22. IMO, with the top attendance, the best arena, location by Minnesota AND Canada, and an athletic department completely committed to hockey, there is no reason not to expect UND to be a top 3 team.
