    Unfortunately the great Bob Kelley signed Faison to an extension through 2020-21 before he resigned. So we're likely saddled with him for 5 more years or facing potentially a seven figure buyout.

    Looking at the make-up of the committee, here's what I found for sports affiliations of members: Track & Field - Alycia Cummings - Arts & Sciences (Stanford); Dick Clay - Coach; Jessica Sobolik - Med School; Ian Collins - Student Rep Swimming and Diving - Susan Jeno - Med School (Michigan); Daniella Irle - AD (Tulane/Fresno St); Janna Schill - Med School; McKenzie Jeske - Student Rep Football - Lowell Schweigert - Alumni Rep; Eric Murphy - Med School - 1 yr Football and 2 yrs Track (Hastings College) Golf - Tanis Walch - Education (Omaha) Unsure - Kim Kenville - Aerospace; Mark Askelson - Aerospace; Cherie Graves - Med School; Gary Schindler - Med School; Thomasine Heitkamp - Nursing/Social Work; Nicolas Hanson - Student Rep (College of Business); Brian Faison - AD If Faison and Kennedy plan to axe swimming and diving, I don't expect them to get the supporting recommendation for that from this committee.

    Do UND employees coach/help out with the camps? Is this really just a way for UND to pay Goehring without paying him?

    A lot of full-time employees at that place. Not saying they aren't busy and needed, but someone's gotta ask

    Anyone know why we have $0 in revenue from hockey camps? Does REA and the hockey academy just keep it all?

    Do they spend $1.5 million per year on it, not including any costs that can be shared with the men's teams?

    Just for the record, per USA Today Scott Nagy at South Dakota St receives a salary of $212,000 plus $25,000 of "other pay" plus potential bonuses of $17,000. In 2014, USD was at $185,000 and NDSU was at $190,000. Per its 2015 NCAA report, UND spent 137,000 on Brian Jones, including benefits, bonuses (if any), and the social security and other taxes that go along with employing anyone. That would put his salary around $100,000.

    So she, as an aviation professor who apparently doesn't know anything about athletics, should be given authority over the athletic department because her step-dad was a good leader?

    How much is KVLY spending to broadcast ndsu women's basketball, volleyball, and women's hockey games, along with a weekly show dedicated to those sports (not football)?

    While I also get a nasty taste in my mouth anytime moving to the Slummit is mentioned, who wants to play Sacramento St and Southern Utah? There's going to be some garbage teams/schools in any conference we look to join.

    The lack of faith in the AD was somewhat implied in my post. If there's no faith there, he should no longer be the AD.

    He didn't appoint her as chair. But yes, if he had any faith in the athletic department he should have put the responsibility for the future of the department with them.

    Do you actually believe the garbage you spew? UND MBB is poorly coached and one can look at the salaries being around half that of our peers as a good indicator of why. If we cut the women's hockey coach's pay what's that coach gonna do? Leave to coach a high school girls team? Would anyone care if he did?UND has been ignoring the market on basketball for a while now. Life in the real world includes cutting (or reducing) huge money losers that have little to no potential to improve.

    Yeah, I've always thought the people getting paid $250,000 per year were paid that much to make decisions and should take the heat/praise that goes with those decisions.

    How many other women's sports have drawings for free tuition at their games? Women's hockey does. How many other women's teams have the marketing in an entire season the women's hockey team receives just for the gophers series? Weird that of the female sports, UND spends the most money on the 3rd most popular sport, and that's without allocating any facility costs to it.

    I agree that Title IX should only be part of the process. Instead, everytime cuts are being considered a few in power start screaming TITLE IX whenever a cut to a women's sport is brought up as a potential option. Ah yes and here come the sexism complaints. After dumping M&W S&D and WIH, we'll still have 9 women's sports and 7 men's. Not all of the funding from those cut sports will be completely cut either. Some will be redistributed to other sports (likely more towards women's sports than men's) so our teams, yes even the women's teams, can be more competitive.

    That article confirms it for me. Women's hockey is NOT needed at UND.
