  1. I found it interesting that he was hurt and likely done for the season until Scheel got hurt and then poof! He was healed. I have no inside knowledge there though.
  2. I could see Poolman, Mismash, and Thome as early signings. Could also see Adams and Rieger leaving.
  3. Ah, unfortunately challenge grant money can't be used for building projects (anymore).
  4. There's a difference between 1 donor coming in with $20 million specifically for a project and the foundation using some of their undesignated reserves.
  5. You know this? Or is it similar to your knowledge of players being arrested for drinking underage?
  6. Guessing this was one of the calls anyway. These guys don't look real athletic though...
  7. If the state doesn't pitch in (I don't expect them to), the foundation needs to be prepared to step in and fill the gap with undesignated funds.
  8. I don't think Burgum ever recommended matching funds for Gamble.
  9. No kidding. Get this, even if Anchorage had swept UND that weekend, they'd still be last in the pairwise. They're that bad!
  10. I'm thinking the issue is the gopher fans have already put away their Goldy sweaters and pulled out their SCSU and UMD threads for the playoff push.
  11. Even with 2 wins against Canisius, we're still on the road for the first round of the conference tourney for the first time in forever. So the issues do run a little deeper.....
  12. My belief is Berry and crew had about a 1 year championship bender/hangover where a lot of time was spent kissing babies and fundraising. Recruiting was neglected and we ended up with a fall 2016 freshman class that had 1 star forward (who left after 1 year) and a lot of other forwards who either had been left on the back burner for a while or should've been left there permanently. The fall 2017 (one second rounder) and 2018 (zero early rounders) freshman classes were also lacking blue chips at forward compared to prior years. The fall 2019 class is looking very promising and I hope the on-ice results follow.
  13. Getting a team hyped to go against the elites should be easy. Getting a team hyped to go against the dregs....
  14. Pairwise yes, actual play on the ice? Well the defense has been good for the most part. Credit there.
  15. They aren't ready to play every weekend, particularly against opponents perceived as inferior.
  16. If the team was doing really well outside of those 2 games, I'm sure it'd be forgiven. But this'll be the first senior class to not win 100 games since 2005, even with a 34 win head start their freshman year. Unless the "puck luck" turns this weekend, they're going to miss by 9 games.
  17. The team is one game over .500 against teams in the bottom 30 of the Pairwise. Sounds like the culture may be lacking right now.
  18. I'm sure there would be flare-ups, as it was with Hak, but I doubt people are as upset if we're #8. Unfortunately they got swept by Canisius, which is an embarrassment to the program.
  19. So should we be rooting for Cornell or Union this weekend? A Cornell sweep would send Union into the 20s, but would solidify Cornell's spot.
  20. And the Gophers were still able to pull in 6,000 plus in years past.
  21. ...... Please no politics. Also, the Knocked Up picture isn't loading for me, but I'm hoping it isn't inappropriate. - Mods
  22. 97 would be ok, 98 would be better
