  1. She looks like a Keebler elf.
  2. Where I lived when I started(Napoleon, ND) you started in Kindergarten and only stopped in middle school/high school if you were going to struggle to ever make varsity. We went anywhere from Dickinson to Grand Forks once we were maybe 8-9 in addition to the local stuff. Iowa is nuts when it comes to wrestling and that would make sense with the proximity. Our North Dakota "All Star" team or whatever went down to Iowa and wrestled some team from Ohio, coached by some ex-Olympian. I think a year's 'tuition' or whatever to work with him was around $10,000. It didn't go very well.
  3. Any sport will be expensive if you do that stuff. I'll ask my dad about the costs that went with wrestling on a yearly average. The guy in your example seems to be somewhere very very different than North Dakota...monthly dues? Traveling all over the country? Good Lord.
  4. Bro, it's in the open records requests...come on! keep up!
  5. My friends got pulled over at like 3am or some nonsense during springfest. Probably looking for drunk drivers. They were high. One got in trouble, one didn't. Same friend who got in trouble, later got in trouble for smoking and driving again late at night. In each case, he did not get in trouble for driving if I recall. Again, I do not care if people smoke. I don't know a lot of people who do. Like I said, the ones I know who did it have pretty much outgrown it.
  6. .....And there it is. The race card. lol. From my experience, the only time alcohol was ever "overlooked" was if it was a big party. The police don't feel like doing that kind of paperwork. The police drove through our alley a few times while we were playing beer darts and may have had a couple of underage people present. Again, probably don't feel like carding everyone when there are 10-20 games of beer darts going on in the college neighborhoods.
  7. Maybe he can't even grow any at all.
  8. Ok, what if the police officer just comes up on them doing it? Was it a sting operation? I agree that the other crimes are much more serious. I'm indifferent to it. Plenty of friends took part in that particular activity. All but one have stopped, as they have goals in their careers and failing a drug test isn't exactly going to help that.
  9. Notre Dame and the B1G don't really get along all that well from what I understand. I have seen the few Irish hockey fans that are out there complain about HE because they are the only team west of New England.
  10. It's not the whole student section. Or wasn't anytime I was there.
  11. 80's music is still where the party is at.
  12. I had some extremely liberal teachers at NDSU. Had some more right-leaning ones as well. The difference was my right-leaning ones were a lot quieter about it. Similar to celebrities political views.
  13. It's hardly even a hidden agenda. Pretty much out in the open.
  14. This post is why I enjoy living in Vikings country. Season after season of endless optimism.
  15. Once or twice a year... I'm sure they'd have no problem dumping the tickets if they wanted to make sure they got used.
  16. Right, I get that. But once or twice a year playing a Thursday/Sunday series or whatever really doesn't seem that terrible. If that was the "hang up" or whatever on joining the B1G, I'd think that is a weak reason.
  17. God forbid you play on Thursdays once or twice a year... I wonder how mad Duke gets when they play basketball games during the week. #backseat
  18. I can't imagine people being excited to see the Scheels Arena. So the Ralph Engelstad Arena, the Cathedral, Taj Mahal, etc. of collegiate hockey, hosted the ND State Tourney 5 months after opening and 9500 or whatever showed up. I'd say the lure of seeing the new($100 million+) home of UND hockey was pretty strong relative to the lure of going to Fargo to see the Scheels Arena.
  19. Do you think that may have had to do with people wanting to see the new Ralph?
  20. They basically have free agency, or did when I was in school late 2000's. I'm looking at you Bismarck High and West Fargo wrestling...
  21. Minot was graduating the most or second most in the state I believe when I was in high school. So saying it's not surprising to see GF and Fargo schools do better based on population doesn't really add up. No reason for Bismarck to be represented by one team in any sport. That's nonsense and anti-competitive.
  22. They have changed it. We started at ten I think.. And this year they did that as well. State wrestling has to be right there with Class B boys basketball in terms of fun. Fans make it wild at times. Especially if a high seed (moreso if they are a high seed from one of the evil empires) gets put on their back. Go Blue Jays. Go Imperials. Bismarck, West Fargo and Linton can go crawl in a hole.
  23. Was pretty bummed to see Central lose. Atmosphere was pretty fun. Friend who teaches there said they only lose three seniors... Two best players are juniors. Should be good next year. Goalie is real little. Only a freshman. Don't know *#%& about hockey but I would think he'll get better. Definitely would have went to watch tomorrow had Central won. 4th time is a charm?
  24. PTSD kicking in right about now....some very lop-sided dual scores between 2005-2010.
