  1. I respect your opinion, so I'm not picking on you. I do business all over the globe and as a GF native, I've sent many corporations to recruit at UND for grads. There is always room for compromise. UND's current management needs to find a way.
  2. Just saying, that it is a likely solution that will work. With 2 sides dug in deep, the all or none (either way) is not going to work.
  3. Kelley should lay out an executive order. 1) Keep the Sioux name for the Men's hockey team only, so UND will keep it's word to Spirit Lake and Ralph. 2) Drop the name and go with North Dakota for all other sports to respect the opposition. Essentially, UND is already there and let the chips fall where they fall. The Big Sky would be OK with it, and the hand the feeds all UND athletics men's hockey would be safe. As for the NCAA, whatever.
  4. Ok, what number is between 1 and 2? 1.5 when you cannot play for the top spot? It's marketing, like 1-A verses 1-AA. 2 comes after 1. D-2 is the third tier. FCS-D1 is so that people don't feel bad that they will never be considered for the top spot. Example see Boise State.
  5. I think you are right, the attempt to "stomp" out the Fighting Sioux was a marketing 101 mistake. OK, stop using the name, but don't tell be the PC police. It will only result in backlash. Better not say or thing Fighting Sioux or Freddy Krueger (maybe Jason) will visit you in your dreams.
  6. Mankato, Duluth, SCSU are now D3. Comes down to the NCAA poor leadership protecting the NCC D2. Teams were forced to "move up" or "be pulled down" with less scholarships. If you can't play in the the top league, you are D-2. The Sioux Football team is D2.
  7. FCS is the new D2, I loved in the NCC (even Morningside) and it didn't cost big $$$ to play at Memorial. Richmond, Saint Francis, Presbyterian are "D1" as well???....pull your head out of your A and do the math, it's D2 and will always be no matter what the NCAA tells you. The Bison were not in consideration for the Fiesta Bowl. Be the Sioux and we will have no problems playing Maine, New Hampshire, BC, Miami OH, Western Michigan, Vermont, Harvard, Kansas, Notre Dame, Texas Tech, Fresno State........
  8. Makes you think...are 14 team leagues "like the Big Sky" sustainable? Not long term. Likely these "Super Sized Mc Leagues" popping up everywhere will realized that a good league is 8-10 team where you play everyone..............just like the NCC
  9. Come June vote Yes or No and be proud Referendums are the North Dakota way, just like banning parking meters in 48’
  10. 2 wins in Duluth would likely put the Sioux in the National tourney. With Blood, McWilliam, Forbert on D, nobody will want to play the Sioux in a one and done game come March/April.
  11. Technology is easy. With Inkscape (or Photoshop) software and all the cheap modern embroidery machines today, it's pretty easy to make whatever Sioux gear you need, from your iPad. I just printed a 36" by 40" commercial quality Fighting Sioux logo poster to go in my garage the other day. It's Sweet and Perfect! That along with all the non-trademark Sioux stuff from the past, you don't need to rely on UND to sell you Sioux Gear. Just make it yourself.
  12. I'm done with Shaver and Minnesota, bring on the Super League! Blood's performance last weekend was excellent and one for the ages. After watching Fighting Sioux hockey for 40 years, that was one of the best examples of Sioux grit and stepping up with your team needs it, I've seen. Too bad on the handshake, but we all know that is not his nature to lose his cool. If it was Zach Jones, I wouldn't have been that surprised (we love Zach, but he had his moments). Knight's play is also to be appreciated. He was obviously hurt, but stuck it out.
  13. GREAT! to see Jason Blake with 2 goals and 1 helper tonight. Reminds me of the Stevie Debus meltdown of 1998 (Thank your Tradition of Excellence of reminding us of that awesome that comeback). Hope Blake has a few more years in the NHL representing the Fighting Sioux Family!
  14. I see they have a student section. Is that for the students that paid tuition or the ones that Chapman let in for free?
  15. While Miami and Western Michigan are comitted to hockey......but what if they decide in 2018 that the travel is too much and leave the league? Adding St. Cloud is an insurance policy to keep the Super League's numbers up to at least 6, plus it give UNO a closer travel partner. It's a good move, plus St. Cloud usally give the Sioux a good game.
  16. I plan to stay on the side of the truth, the tribes were supposed to be offended by the Fighting Sioux name, and Sprit Lake voted to say they were not
  17. It's 100+ days until the Sioux opener, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses
  18. I see this as a progression that started in the 90
  19. NHL.com has a nice video interview with Dillion Simpson and his dad "Sons make fathers proud at Entry Draft". They have nothing but good things to say about the Fighting Sioux program.
  20. NICE HELMET! The new ownership group seems like they have their act together and did it right. 1) Building the MTS downtown, 2) Bringing in the Moose and running a good organization, and 3) Upgrading to the Jets. It's not like someone buying a team and not knowing how to run the team. All the better that Mark is a Fighting Sioux grad.
  21. I don't know for sure, but Michigan Tech played in Europe last fall and those teams were paid players. More and more, the college game is giving the Ca Major Jr's a run for there money, so it would be fun to see. Wisconsin needs to wake up and know you need to play the best to be the best. Going to the big 10 and scheduling cupcakes will get you 20 wins, but won't get you into the playoffs.
  22. The Sioux, Denver, and CC are known for reciprocation and traveling to any rink, where Minnesota and Wisconsin try to cherry pick and only play in their building. Who would you want to play? My speculation is that the WCHA will stick together and sign a non-conference deal that you have to play every WCHA team on a rotating schedule. This will allow Wisconsin an excuse to
  23. J - E - T - S, Jets, Jets, Jets to borrow from the NFL Jets, but this is great news for the region. Let's hope it's true. Move the North Stars (Wild) to the Norris, Nashville to the Southeast, bring Winnipeg HOME to the Northwest, and the Sioux bring home #8 (as the loss to Michigan still hurts as bad as 98')........and all will be good.
  24. Hennessy is the best! I'm sure Tim would have found a Fighting Sioux to interview. I'm sure there were many former players around at the FF.
