Yikes, Division Three beating Division IAA.

I think coming out of the gate and swarming the oppostion's net and setting the tone in the first period is going to paramount in winning games especially against the top defensive teams in the league.

Technically UND was third this past season in the nation and not fifth. The two teams that lose in the Semis of the Frozen four are third.

While Phil isn't Jorday he isn't Briggs either (he is better). I think Phil will do a great job this season, however, I think the team needs to get going and score for him.

I definately thought that Parise was the better of the two goalies last season, Phil is probably going to be the starter, unless AG comes in an steals the show (which could happen). If Phil is the starter this season he is going to have to step it up and play better than he did last season. Having a good defense in front of him will help but Phil is going to have to make the second and third saves if the Sioux are going to keep the GAA down. Winning against teams like Wisconsin who don't give up a lot of goals is going to require that the Sioux keep them selves with in a goal going into the third period. The offense infront of Phil should score a lot of goals.

That could be, I kind of liken it to the WCHA final five program and some of the question they ask these guys and the answers some of them give are kind of like off the wall. If any thing it appears that some of the boys were eating right and lifting a few weights, time will tell when we see them on the ice. 252 is a big defenseman? Thats even heavier than Commie and Green if I remember right.

I hear you on that one but if the program is going Division 1AA and we are playing a legit 1AA program you would think they would want to put it on the air.

I wouldn't call 195-205 fat, good sized. I think somone mentioned it, but the weights are kind of inflated a bit. I remember one of the players dad's a few years back admiting his son was a little lighter than his program listed playing weight. Some have also said that this is kind of a spoof.

What the heck is wrong with WDAZ? What I don't get it. Pat must be worried that the Sioux UNI game will cut into the game of the week, pick em: Notre Dame or FSU game versus the weak sisters of the poor.

Hey Hak is the coach, Hak hired the person he thought was best suited for the job. That is his right by being the head coach. I think Sioux fans response should be welcome aboard Dane. As for the leter to the editor that person is entitled to his own opinion no matter how flawed it is. That person isn't biased all, brother in law. To each his own. I don't know why there are some that think's Steve Johnson is entitled to a position based on him being from Grand Forks, that is flawed logic in itself. I guess some people are still romanticizing the past. The future is now. I also think UND will be fine even without Johnson because of UND's recent sucess and that fact that Hak and company have carried on the Sioux tradition proudly. Again Hak isn't doing to bad as a coach. Two frozen fours in a row.

I suppose if you look at it deeper, except for Stauber, the gophers never have really had an exceptional goalie. I guess you have a point.

Slap Shot I would consider you to be a relatively great to good hockey mind baring the fact that your partisan Goofer fan (that is not a crime), however, do yourself a favor and stop trying to sugar coat Brigg's lack of success, face it, the kid is not a top line goalie. Briggs is a mediocre goalie at best. I want to snap when I see people saying that Briggs is a good goalie and when it is evident that Briggs is in fact a big fat Sieve.

Wisconsin is going to lose a lot of close games 2-1, 3-1... No one to score.

Having lived in the Boston Area for a couple of years, I can tell you that the Boston media is brutal, I am sure Phil's handlers will have him on the company line when the season starts. They are still mad as heck about Bill Buckner.
