For the sake of argument, like others have said there is substantial grumbling for UND not going out and having a national search for a coach after Blais left, I know because I have heard it a lot, I live in Grand Forks. There are a good number of people that want Steve Johnson, there are a good number that want anyone but Hakstol. I think Perfect argument for looking for a coach nationally is look at what has happened at Notre Dame and they went out and got a top line coach in Jeff Jackson, the same coach that took a small school like LSSU to the national title and won. Now not surprisingly Notre Dame is winning. UND could have had a coach like that. I don't care if this becomes or turns into a Nick Sabin type enviornment, UND deserves the best. I just saying if Hak has anymore season's like this the powers to be at UND will show him the door reguardless if his father-in-law is Tim Okeefe or not. Whislter brought up a point, he will watch them as long as they are competative I have watched every year since I transfered over to BSU. I remember sitting in empty stadiums while the team sucked. This team isn't far from being that bad again. We will be lucky to finish 6th.

Lefty I am not looking to pick a fight with you but how many more games do we have to watch before we realize this season is a lost season. I have no confidence in the present situation. There is something wrong with this team. Look at the WJC players and you can figure it out. There is no reason Jonathon Toews should be scoring goals and not in the WCHA. I am not sure why people should think you have to suppport this team no matter what happens without any criticizism. This is a Horse Bleep hockey team, there are players not producing its the job of the coaching staff. I am sick and tired of listening to excuses.

I would bet if Blais were coaching one of the last two teams to the NCAA Frozen Four he would have won a title with the talent the Sioux had. As Sioux fans we know that the patience with Hak will not be very long. If you listen to him in his post game speech he is getting desperate, you can hear it in his voice. I can't believe with Eades as one of the coaches we don't have more intensity? Maybe the school should look at getting Blais back. Dean is going to be out there and you can see him basically saying here I am, I available.

Make that the Sioux must Sweep BSU (losing is unacceptable). Must get points from Denver (something Hak's teams have not done) The problem is the Sioux aren't getting it done and frankly this team doesn't have it. Hakstol needs to be held accountable for this season. The Gophers lose just as much talent as the Sioux and they are running away with the division title. Hakstol fails to make the proper adjustments after losing players in the off season. While I am not ready to call for his head yet, its apparent he might not be the right coach for UND.

Slap Shot, the FSN boys are the propaganda machine of the Golden Gophers it was amazing to see how they spun this game. That being said even without the 5 guys that were gone to the WJC you would still win at least 3/4 of your games. So I think its silly to think other wise. Most teams aren't even lucky enough to have a Jay Barbell.

I am thinking they are going to start losing eventually...

If there was a time to get rolling it would probably be a good time to start tomorrown night. The bright side is UND didn't give up a power play goal and they got a solid defensive effort. Thats the Silver Lining.

We can't get a break, no finisher. Actually this was a top effort. We can't afford to lose tomorrow night or it could be bad for the Sioux.

Two of the last goals were really of the weak variety. Almost sick they were that sad.

Actually you should hear the excuses the TV crew is making, oh we are short handed and we only have three lines and on and on. The truth be told is that even minus their 5 players the Mavs are still the underdog. Its almost like the FSN boys are setting up the excuse if the Gophers lose tonight.

I think your right too. I know Backstrom from Sweden is a Pittsburg draft choice but he isn't playing in the USA or Canada that I know of. It might be tough for EJ to get that in his contract but who knows.

I just heard on FSN that Erik Johnson was the USA top score with 4 goals and 6 assists. Thats huge for a defensemen. I will take a Bronze medal since the USA hasn't gotten one since 2004. Huge

I wouldn't look too much into this rumor since Johnson turned down the bucks to play at Michigan, Johnson has been on the record as being very pro Michigan and it being a dream to play for the Wolverines. I wouldn't be surprised if he signed this summer but I also wouldn't be surprised if he stay all four years at Michigan either.

Ah keep ranting, I of all people love a good rant, especially when your preaching to the choir, how about when the game is already on FSN, then you go over to the FSC and there they have the Gopher game that is on over on FSN. Talk about a waste. At least give us the feed for the Badgers or Denver but no, they have two channels tied up. I am hoping the Gophers have their same implosion again this season. Wait till Briggs remembers he is the same goalie that sucked in the playoffs three years in a row.

I suppose that is probably from all the push ups and cheers that he has been doing. I think their AD is a hack, I have talked with Bunning a few times and I have to say that I am impressed with the COL Bunning. I sure she would have been out of her league.

Thats a big 10-04 on that, this is pathetic. UND is a top program in division one hockey and the media around here treats it like an after thought. The paper does ok, but the television coverage sucks, there is no reason there isn't a weekly show on Sioux hockey like they do with Football and Basketball. I don't get the mentality at all.

I think if we sweep all most all of our games at home and at least split or better on the road I think we will be ok. If I remember right we lost about 16-17 games the last two seasons. I think making the Final Five would be a realistic goal this season. But there has to be a gut check on this team. There are far too many good players for us to be a crappy team. Defensively we were supposed to be good. I think Chorney will light it up in the second half, his play impressed me. Of the two American WJC players from UND Chroney stood out as a top performer for team USA and was playing with the Johnson boys at the end of the tourney, his goal against Canada was huge. That leadership has to translate back to UND if they are going to be successful. The pressure/urgency the USA team members experienced by almost not making the medal round has to be brought back to UND and passed on to the other players. I think the three that left have under achieved this season but there is a lot of hocey left.

KESSEL is going down to providence first for reconditioning. So I hope he will be back soon, the Bruins have lost 3 in a row and lost 10-2 last night. Should we say Thomas looked very poor in net.

I believe the have a exclusive contract with Miller which is McKinnen I believe. Also, If I am not mistaken they have an agreement with Coke too. Personally I like both of those decision because I am a coke and Miller Lite Man. Someone told me that if you go with these kinds of contract they save money.
