That has to be one of more %$^!@#$ things that you have said lately. This whole smoking thing has more to do with people's health and collective rights of the masses. Dave if you're against the ban than file a legal challenge to it. Good luck gettting the ND supreme court to hear your case. Frankly the people have spoken there was a democratic vote on a public smoking ban, the ban passed. Like I said if you don't like it sue.

If the League calls it tighter this season I think you will see goaltending numbers go down. Personally I could care less because I would rather see a 6-3, 7-4, 8-3 game than a 2-1, 1-0 trap feast.

The thing that irritates me is this was a such a big story last winter to the Herald the community, I remember there people asking Hakstol what the heck is going on here? What kind of program is Hakstol running? I even remember some people being upset because the UNH player got an extra game more than Oshie. Like I said before the the Herald was falling all over themselves to get this story out. Ok, fall all over your self to report the rest of the story. I don't care if the charges are acquitted, dropped or dismissed it is still worthy of more than a page 6 story. While some people just love the Herald, I think it is legitimate to have issues with the way that paper is ran.

First off it is almost July. The Herald newspaper is a joke; they were falling all over themselves and were in a big hurry to report this story when it happened. So if that story is good enough to put out there when these kids were getting cited by the police so is the story about the charges being dropped. Why isn't that story on the front page? While I don't have a lot of love for the regular beat writers at the Herald I do think the sports writers at the herald do a great job of covering Sioux hockey and other Sioux sports, but the rest of the paper in my opinion is nothing more than liner for a bird cage, or for wrapping fish. I also know that I am not the only one that feels that way. We get it you love the Grand Forks Herald. Also notice how McFeely hasn't even made a mention of this story either.

For a rookie you seem to ask a lot of good questions. Defensively I think UND was one of the better teams in the nation, statistically this is a true fact. For whatever reason our team peaked a little early in my opinion. I think UND lost the by old: "you can't stop what you can't catch" in the Semi-final game of the NCAA Frozen Four.

Now the city of Fargo has ruled that you (hypothetically) don't have a right to allow smoking in a bar if you owned it. The only recorse is that someone will challenge it in the ND supreme court and then they will have to decide if there is going to be smoking in bar or not.

I am all for personal freedoms myself, I am worried about gun owners rights and freedoms that are being taken away from me. Like I said you can do all the drugs and booze you want in your house as long as your not driving on the highway, flying my plane or driving my bus or driving anywhere where you could kill me or my family and friends I am fine with that. Smoking at a place like McDonald's or a restaurant where my daughter is don't think so. I am not even against smoking in bars but I also think we need to have some perspective, your freedoms are not extended to compromising others health. Heck at Altru you can't even smoke on the grounds or chew snuff anymore if my wife explained it to me right. Are people going to sue them now?

The point is that the media rushed out to hang some Sioux athlete and when the charges were dismissed they went ho hum, nothing here to see folks.

I haven't seen a semi auto that I can't unload fast. In Sodak you can have your plug out so you can empty it even faster. I have had three of them and the pump gun is almost as fast for unloading. I read where they said the war in Iraq is causing the price of shot gun and rifle shells to be more expensive. I have noticed that steel shot is way too expensive. One plus though is that it seems that the power of the steel shot has gotten really powerful as of late.

I can't wait for hunting season I bought a new over and under the last weekend of hunting season and I can't wait to go hunting and shoot holes in the sky.

I am all for personal rights if you want to play russian roulette at a poker party at your house more power to you, if you want to do drugs in your home where I can't see it or smoke 8 packs of cigerettes great puff away but if I am sitting in McDonalds with my daughter present while she wears her happy meal that smoker doesn't have the rights to polute the air around me or my daughter. I am torn on public BARS. I think smelly bars that don't serve food that allow smoking are some what different, however, public places like the malls, concerts, hockey games ____________ public event should be smoke free. Eventually you will be able to go to a bar and not smell smoke, that is just the way it is going. I can see public support for all eating, drinking establishments to be smoke free.
