I hate to say this but Hockey drives UND. What is the first thing people say when they talk about UND, it isn't the great weather it's the hockey team and it's storied program at UND.

That is the attitude that I am getting from some around here that think it is a slamb dunk. I think it would be sad if it wasn't. I also still wonder if the NCAA isn't fighting this disagreement through the Summit league as a proxy?

I honestly don't know how they have won with their goaltending either.

If the Bruins can't win it all I would love to see the Hawks win, I am so bored with the redwings. If the opposition pops one of them in the face after they have cheaped you they will sit there take it go on the power play and score. Ugh. They have no personality. I will explain there were a few in the media that were bashing the Wings that they don't fight and actually the media had to defend them.

If the name goes and I think it will, I pesonally like something resembling those.

Oh goody now UND can play a second rate Big Ten Team. Maybe they will win their Music City or Insite.com bowl game this time around. I would rather see us play Iowa or Wisconsin.

I would say why don't go ask some of the coaches of Baseball, Basketball for a start. I would wonder if they are the ones pushing and driving this? I think it is a fair question.

When you compare the WCHA to the Summit league I don't think it's even close I think one could make the argument that the Missori Valley is a superior conference to the Summit league, but it is only a football conference. Here is an analogy I would use to describe the Summit league, it's 2 oclock your leaving the bar and the last girl in the bar is willing to go home with you and she isn't very pretty but she is the only option and were begging to go home with her. ------Flame away if you like.

I think it is a legitimate question but I posed this to one of the people that will benifit from being in the summit league conference and I understood from talking to him that the University wasn't just going to pick a name without a tought out process and that UND might not have one for a short period of time. We all know if the Administration decided to pick a moniker and logo without a well thought out process involving the students and alumni there would be huge mess. That being said, I could see the Univesity and or the SBHE doing something stupid like that.

remember there is a right to not be offended. So I guess if 2-3 people and their moronic ex-president are offended the name has to go.
