  1. TOUCHDOWN CENTRAL WASHINGTON!!! Mike Reilly to Johnny Spevak. PAT pending. 1:36 left.
  2. First down CWU at the UNO 18. I can't say I am surprised at this.
  3. Zach Miller is INTERCEPTED at the UNO 30 yard line. First and 10 Wildcats!!!
  4. UNO starts 1st and 10 on their own 13 with 2:43 left in the game.
  5. PAT good, unsportsmanlike conduct on UNO. Will be assessed on the kickoff. Mavs are imploding in the playoffs. Again.
  6. 100 yard kickoff return for touchdown for Central Washington?!?! 2:49 left, it ain't over yet!
  7. The key word to this is "on paper". But games aren't played on paper. And Behrns-coached teams aren't very effective in the playoffs, either. If they don't have the talent to make a run to Florence this year, when will they?
  8. 14:55 in 4th quarter in Omaha: UNO 14 CWU 7 Closer than I expected. I figure that the Wildcats were embarrassed two weeks ago at home and want a little payback. I still think UNO will grind it out in the 4th and win the game.
  9. Speaking of our friends to the south, anyone have a scoring update on the UNO-CWU game?
  10. I feel your pain!
  11. I have a hard time believing that our recruiting of defensive players has suddenly gone down the toilet. What kid who plays defense (especially linebacker) wouldn't want to play in our system where you fly to the ball and "get after it" as Coach Lennon always likes to say? I have a feeling that the 3-4 defense is obsolete against teams that spread it out in four and five wide receiver sets and run the ball out of those formations. The 3-4 is designed to stop the option or straight ahead running plays. With the move up to D-I at hand, I think it might be time to switch to a 4-3 to get more pressure on the QB and disrupt some of these passing-oriented offenses that are taking over college (and professional) football right now. Maybe I am grasping for straws, but I think it should at least be considered.
  12. Come on now, we still have hockey vs. Duluth tonight and a chance for the first home sweep of the season! All is not lost!
  13. Provided that UNO doesn't choke against CWU at home today (and I don't think they will), I think that this is the year that "tradition fails" for GVSU. The Mavs love to pound the ball over and over until your defense is tired and worn down. I don't think UNO is banged up in the backfield like we are and I think Zach Miller is going to be tough for them to defend. Early pick: UNO 27 GVSU 21
  14. Time to focus on hockey and a sweep of Duluth. And if we "run into a hot goaltender" tonight, I am really gonna be ticked off!!!
  15. Offensive line did not get it done today. Period.
  16. 1:59 left. Sioux football. It's do or die time for Landry and company.
  17. I think the D got worn down in the first half when our offense was going "3 downs and out" over and over again. This isn't a traditional Sioux defense, but I think the 2002 unit was much worse than this.
  18. I think all teams that host playoff games on Thanksgiving weekend have at least some problems drawing people. There isn't much that can be done about it usually. Nonetheless, that IS a low number.
  19. Unless we make something happen, it's Game Over!
  20. All the Lakers have to do is get in field goal range and make it and the game is over.
  21. Another wide open pass completion for a first down! This is getting really old!
  22. A drive killer (holding) wipes out a big GVSU gain. 2nd and long coming up.
  23. Man, I am sick and tired of these cutsey little pass completions to the tight end against our defense! The linebackers just don't recognize that stuff like they did in the past.
  24. The defense has got to be exhausted, they have been on the field way too much. If we can hold them here, we'll have a chance.
  25. Great time for a "drive killer"!
