  1. That right there is the biggest flaw in libertarianism. Nothing in our modern, complex world is "simple". If you want "simple", you need to reset society back to what it was in 1789 and that ain't happening. #pipedreams
  2. I suppose we could trim garbage pickup from every week to every other week? That would save some serious cash. But I can bet you a lot of the no voters today will be the first to b!tch and moan about it. Libertarianism is a fantasy-land where everything is magically solved by a non-existent "free market" without the "theft" of taxation. If you want stuff, you have to pay for it. If the Feds and State are paying less, then we have to pay more locally. #mathisbeautiful
  3. Then why did it take so long to raise enough money to renovate the BSA? And outside of FB, none of their other programs have accomplished much in recent years.
  4. Anything less than a sweep this weekend is unacceptable! Copyright 2017 Goon. ALL Rights Reserved!
  5. No one is talking about winning a Natty every year. People are talking about changing the narrative in the region so that we aren't "that other school in North Dakota". And I cut a check to UND every year, so I will "expect, wish or demand" excellence from our teams. Got that? #iwillnotputupandshutup PS: I am not arguing for Regime Change. If next year is like this year without the injuries, then I might change my mind.
  6. If you think roads and bridges are a want and not a need.....you just might be a libertarian.
  7. You mentioned different cities and populations, that is what I was referring to. That is something we cannot fix, but a lot of people fixate on that and get discouraged. We cannot do that. I agree with the bolded text above.
  8. Why is there this perception that NDSU is swimming in money, while UND is broke? That simply isn't true. If it was, the BSA renovation would not have taken as long as it did. NDSU is not some private school with deep-pocketed donors who can fund whatever they want out of their pocket. They are a state institution like us and they face the same financial challenges as us. The fact that we have Men's Hockey and REA should give us an slight edge in finances.
  9. Based on this, we should just fold up the program now and forget about it.
  10. Loyalty is sometimes not a good thing.
  11. Think big and you will achieve great things. Think small and you will achieve nothing. It all has to start somewhere.
  12. Yeah, get that diversion built before you even think about building an FBS stadium.
  13. Good question. I think Darcy's may be older, but I cannot confirm that.
  14. How's that application to the Big 12 coming?
  15. Hey, if this garbage happens again next year, I'll be in your camp. I just don't think it will.
  16. This is true. However, there was inclement weather moving in well before kickoff. That may have cut back on attendance.
  17. No one is suggesting that this year hasn't been a complete and total disaster. But your solution is Regime Change. That is what I disagree with. I say we bounce back next year and surprise a lot of people.
  18. Maybe. I am reluctant to call for major changes in scheme after one bad year. But I suppose there are some wrinkles Schmidt could put in there to make it more lethal.
  19. In other words, do what everyone else expects you to do. I have never understood that logic. But that's Rudolph for you. He would have been a great OC back in the 1950's.
  20. This season can't end soon enough.
  21. I believe that was 2008. In 2006, it was in Grand Forks. In 2007, it was in Denver at the Pepsi Center.
  22. He's trolling. Don't take the bait.
  23. Not exactly an endorsement of Mr. Eaves.
  24. Oh screw that! I don't care if Patrick Roy is in net for them, we have to figure out how to score on "hot goalies" or we'll finish in the lower half of the NCHC.
  25. As I recall, that day was rainy in Florence, AL and both teams were struggling on offense. GVSU had been putting up 40-50 points per game in the playoffs, but struggled in this game in part because of the conditions and in part because of our defense. UND had put up 42 against Winona State, 38 against Pittsburg State and 14 against UC-Davis. So our offense was better than most people remember.
