  1. I'll give you 57,165 reasons why the Summit League isn't leaving Sioux Falls. https://www.keloland.com/keloland-com-original/57165-attend-expanded-summit-league-tournament/
  2. Big 10 has their tournament at one site. Because it works much better logistically for every team to be at one site. If you are meaning like the B1G hockey tournament, they aren't going to spread a basketball tournament with 10 teams over 3 weekends. This is the dumbest poll I have seen on this site.
  3. If by "successfull" he means: - A record of 214-265-50 - Conference standings each year: 7th, 8th, 8th, 7th, 6th, 8th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, and 4th - 5 seasons (out of 15 total) team finished season with single digit wins (including a season where they went 0-27-1 in conference - Confernce tournament record of 9-13 - NCAA tournament reocord of 0-2 - ZERO Conference Championships - ZERO Conference Tournament Championships - ZERO NCAA Tournament wins - ZERO NCAA Tournament Champsionships .....then I guess he is dead on!!
  4. From the article: "Robert Morris cut its men's and women's programs in May 2021 just months after the school hosted the men's Frozen Four. In December 2021, the school announced both programs would be reinstated for the 2023-24 season thanks to fundraising efforts. Alaska Anchorage had its hockey program, along with other sports, cut in September 2020, but the team was reinstated in August 2021 following a grassroots $3 million fundraising campaign in which the NHL's Seattle Kraken were involved." Was there any "grassroots fundraising campaign" to keep the UND womens hockey program?!! Did anyone donate to save the program?
  5. https://www.uscho.com/stats/attendance/division-i-women/ Average attendance for all but 3 schools this last season for womens college hockey was less than 1000. Two thirds of all womesn programs averaged less than 500. And I can gaurantee the average ticket price is in the single digits. Womens College hockey is not as popular and in demand as some portray it to be.
  6. The article did bring up a good point. When considering adding womens hockey, or any sport, there are two big things a University must consider. Cost and demand. Demand is something that is probabl not as important. I mean, is there a big following for golf and tennis at Universities (mens or womens)across the country? Not really. But they don't cost alot to have. One thing the Lammy Twins and the UND womens hockey aplogists stillfail to answer is how the University gets aroud the enormous cost to run just the 1 program. "Well, the mesn program can pay for it.". Yeah cause thats sustainable. If the demand for womens hockey at UND or anywhere else that may be looking to add it was even average, you could justify the cost to sustain it. But it's simply not there. So UNd and other Universities aren't going to burden their budget for a sport that is a drain on the Athletic Department.
  7. Maybe we need to be the poachers and the the team that gets poached in regards to the transfer portal!!
  8. Want toknow what is going to get recruits to come to UND in 2023 and moving forward? I'll give you a hint.... N I L
  9. We need to get back to the days where we were losing in the Frozen Four semifinals instead of just winning conference titles, a playoff title and a Natty!
  10. Should have just renovated the Old Ralph and raised the roof for upper deck seating. Same thing with the Union. Could have just slapped some fresh paint and got new carpet in the basemant and it would have looked fin. The thing is, new students don't care about what buildings were on campus 30 years ago. They care about the buildings they will be spending their time in over the next 4 years. UND campus looks great now with the new buildings. And that is what attracts new students. In a world of declining college enrollment, Universities need to make steps like this to get students to come there.
  11. Demolition of UND’s Hyslop Sports Center slated for summer 2024 https://www.grandforksherald.com/news/local/demolition-of-unds-hyslop-sports-center-slated-for-summer-2024
  12. I think I would rather have UND be the 8 or 9 with potentially playing Oral Roberts than the 7 or 10 with the winner playing the Jacks. We seen to match up better with ORU, plus avoiding playing SDSU in a home game for them would be much better.
  13. Might want to put 2 guys on #5. I think he's a good shooter
  14. So why not have the 3rd place game and Final on Friday like they are doing in the Region 1 regional at the SHAC in Fargo. Poor planning and embarrassing for the REA and UND.
  15. So why is Thursdays game at 11am? Weather? State Hockey Tournament? Just for kicks?
  16. Wait.....where is GFC and GPR? Did they get rid of their hockey programs?
  17. UND hockey has had 1 losing season since the 93-94 season. (2001-2002). They are getting dangerously close to doing that again. If this team doesn't get 7 more wins, it will be the 4th time in that same timespan that the team doesn't get to 20 wins on the season. 3 of those times will be under Berry in the past 6 seasons. Sure he won a ?NAtty and 3 Penrose Cups, but the problem is the inconsistency. And that is a problem. And it needs to be addressed.
  18. Former UND captain Gage Ausmus diagnosed with cancer, shares message for others https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/former-und-captain-gage-ausmus-diagnosed-with-cancer-shares-message-for-others-1 Glad to hear that they were able to remove the cancer. A good reminder to everyone to go to the doctor if something isnt right.
  19. Things run a little differently for a public University in North Dakota as compared to a private school in Minnesota. Also helps when you get when you get a check for $75M.
  20. If UND misses the tournamnet again this year, it will only be the 4th time in the last 27 season that they haven't made the NCAA tournament. And 3 of those would have been in the last 7 years under Berry. Now, on the other hand, the other 4 years under Berry's tenure, they won the league 4 times and won a National Champiionship. So I guess the question is can this fanbase take the ups and the downs? That all being said, I think we all as a fanbase need to maybe just pump the breaks just s second. UND has won the last 3 Penrose Cups and were robbed of the 2020 season where they were a likely favorite to win it, and were a 5OT loss away from going back to the Frozen Four just 2 years ago. No I know that being fans of this program, we are all used to seeing this team in the Tournament, and missing it this year would suck. But before we turn up the heat on Berry's seat, let's let next season playout and see whow this team bounces back. This year sucked. But the last 3 prior were pretty good.
