Calling that time out is fine … if you execute. Didn’t happen. So calling that timeout rightfully is questionable. Defense been sh*t this season. Also, hard to imagine that second to last play (the fourth down play) only took 1 second. Went from 0:05 to 0:04 after that throw to the middle of the field on 4th &3 …

Horrible defense most of the season. It’s sh*t
-
UND sucks at tackling. Indiana State game demonstrated the same thing. Need to work on that big time. In my experience, that usually means different players. Can’t teach that fundamental in the middle of the season.
-
Been a concern from the first game of the season, and now it hurts. With that said, Skokna’s return against NDSU was a major plus. Would argue having Skokna returning is not the same though as having Belquist or Seigel return … those are guys who are bona fide starters

Called Lennon to speak to the team again.
-
Correct. Score-comparing is a way to say you don’t know ball without saying you don’t know ball.
-
Some on here just like wins, plain and simple. Some just like to support UND blindly. Others like high quality play within the wins. Others just like to complain and play devil’s advocate. I do like the variety.
-
Don’t know what half of this means, but sure sounds good.
-
Correct. It is playoff time … sort of. There will still be plenty of prayers, hopes and excuses if (likely when) UND loses to USD.
-
Ha! This is good stuff right here. Love the disparity. All I know is there will inevitably be things to complain about on Saturday, but a hell of a lot more to complain about if UND loses, which would suggest that UND goes the entire season without winning a road game.

We oftentimes abandon the run too early. But I get it, because it can be hard to stick with a slow methodical approach on offense when this team feeds off big plays and momentum. This is a very finicky team in terms of mindset. Easily swayed by big plays. Momentum affects this team more than most. NDSU game was perfect storm as UND had the momentum from the get-go. Not to keep beating a dead horse here, but I think this finicky mindset is in part due to how they’re coached day in and day out. Players are conditioned to this. I keep hearing this is a player led group, which is good, but additional leadership would be nice (and is basically required if you want to be a deep playoff team).

This is only 100% correct. Everyone needs to see the mock up done earlier of Kelly green jerseys with silver helmets/pants in style of Ohio state. It’s only spot on what UND should do. Only debate would be what logo to put on the helmet …
-
Ya’ll looking into this too far. Win is better than a loss, but it took OT at home to beat a winless team ……
-
My recollection is this - the defense played like absolute dog-sh*t to end the game, but they did hold Indiana State in OT. The interception by Schuster late in the game just plain stunk. Good play by Indiana State on that one, tipping the ball on the attempted screen to Belquist. I guess that’s where a consistent running game (or at least a focus on it) comes in handy (don’t get too cute).
-
it’s a good debate, but going up 12 with an XP is preferred. Another mistake by Bubba … sure. But I’ll be honest I didn’t mind it at the moment, because I didn’t expect the defense to play like crap after that point in time.

Two points. 1. Support will continue. No one should threaten discontinuation of UND football support. I certainly won’t be. 2. We can still be disappointed in how poorly UND played. A win is a win sounds nice, but no one truly believes that. The last two weeks UND football has regressed significantly from a dominant performance vs NDSU to a blowout loss on the road to barely beating a winless team in OT at home. Players haven’t changed a ton, so this fiasco falls squarely on the group responsible for preparing and motivating the players; the coaches. I hope for the best, which is UND running the table and making the playoffs, but it’s very reasonable (and realistic) to prepare / expect the worst. with all that said, I think UND finishes 2-1 in the final 3, goes 7-4, and is actually awarded a home playoff game this year with a substantial bid actually being recognized this year. Then we get to watch a home playoff game that can be won … still, I understand the agony when considering what could have been after the NDSU win; instead, we got what we got these past 2 weeks
-
Might be a dead horse but also the elephant in the room
-
Coaches players or both?
-
I want winning above all else. don’t distract from that, but I also understand realism and probability
-
I hope!!

Pretty much a consensus opinion at this point; this is basically a loss. At end of year, need new leadership. All good guys on staff and such, just some need re-positioning. The necessary mental make-up / motivation of this team is currently absent. Need a new voice. Go Fighting Hawks.
-
Point being the current “group of old” ain’t good enough. Certainly does not only include the student-athletes, but also those considered the motivators and teachers on the sideline (i.e., coaches). As for today and your question: Romfo and Sawyer Seidl. Seidl could be the “hot” new fan favorite after today. Can’t count out Donovan Hunt, he shows up every time he gets into the game. Not worried about the stable of backs, more interested in offensive line play and play calling. I hate to be critical of Danny Freund (he’s the future much needed new head coach), but I honestly think he shies away from the inside running game too soon.

Losing 27 zip will do that. And the worst part is it was predictable (historical trend already had been set)

Crazy surprising score for GFC against 2 seed Fargo South. Meanwhile Red River loses by 1 in OT to Jamestown. Good players on both GF HS teams, UND commits and prospects. Need to wrap up the commitments from the prospects.
