Green pants w/ green jerseys - no good.
Green pants w/ white jerseys - should look pretty decent (as long as it's the correct shade of green)
Sac State, Michigan State, Marshall have pulled this look off.
I'd prefer a gray or black pant over green, myself... in addition to the white pants. Depends on what color accents (gray or black) are on the jerseys... Hearing an alternative uni combo will be in the mix for '16.
Green jersey with white pants is perfect simply because it IS the identity of UND football traditionally, and it still should be.
As for finding use for the green pants, couple them up with the white jerseys for the road and it will look fine.

Frustrating listening to Jack Michaels on the Fan right now. Only talks about the Bison. Radio voice for UND football that doesn't talk about UND
Yeah, it sucks. Someone should call in just to give it to Jack 'NDSU' Michaels.

I cannot wait for September to see how these kids do. FBS win? Playoffs? I think this could be "the" best year (as far as DI wins go) since moving up. Bubba has a lot of talent joining the team.
No question. If Bubba keeps on putting together recruiting classes like this, UND will be a perennial playoff participant and eventual Big Sky champion.

Defensive line returns four experienced players that should all play a lot: Hinojosa, Dranka, Greely, and Carrothers. Should be a good group with the young guys helping with depth.We had an issue with 3rd and longs last year and that probably had something to do with the size of our players getting out positioned on balls down the field. I heard one of the new JUCO safeties is looking really good, on par with Reyes. Although Tillman is gone I anticipate the secondary being improved. Linebackers will be experienced with senior leadership.....improved. And I think the young d-line will be improved, too, but remains a question mark on how improved. I know a guy or two on the d-line battling some injuries......limiting workouts.
All four linebackers from last year return along with depth; will be good group!
As for DBs, lose Tillman and Carr but Chris Carter, Brown, and Reyes all return along with new JUCO safeties and tall incoming freshmen. Should be an improved group!
Defense will again be the strength of UND's team and it will be fun to watch!

Bubba did great things with the defense last year and yet he didn't even have his own recruits. Some of these DBs Bubba has acquired with this class are an absolute improvement over what UND has had since going DI. I'm really excited, as I only expect the defense to get even better moving forward.
As for the offense, more playmakers and more offensive linemen. All of that is present in this class so the offense should also only improve.

Pending any unexpected subtractions, the way this class now sits is really impressive. Bubba and his staff have done both an outstanding job recruiting locally and acquiring DI talent!

Surprisingly ran into this on Hudl. Show's MLB and team captain Will Ratelle's 2014 highlights. He's paced for a big senior season in 2015!

Have heard Austin Gordon, 5'9" 195 RB/LB. Was a captain this past season.
Would be a good addition.

I think you're spot on. He's an athlete that UND football could use on either the offensive or defensive side of the ball, so his addition would certainly be welcome. With that said, Bubba and staff have done a good job of getting better athletes at WR and DB.

False. Bubba and his staff have indeed contacted NDSU commits over their first two recruiting seasons.He isn't doing it.
If they didn't do that, I'd be worried.

I have connections in the Hawley area that have told me that UND coaches have been in contact with Ellefson since he committed to NDSU. I couldn't believe it, Not Bubba!! Guess what, they ALL do it. Every recruit that has committed to NDSU and have been on the radio with your play by play guy have said the calls still come even after they have committed. That is college football these days. If you are trying to say NDSU coaches do it more than everybody else, you are fooling yourself.
In all honesty, I agree with this. Aggressive, and ultimately successful, recruiters stay active on recruits they want right up until signing day. Ever heard of flipping a verbal commit? Happens quite often.
The fact that Bubba is doing this with NDSU commits is actually encouraging; Mussman and his staff did no such thing and that lack of recruiting effort showed.

Something interesting to ponder:
More local representation with this recruiting class should equal greater attendance, right? Obviously winning is most important to attendance, but more local UND student-athletes means more local family and friends.

The main thing to me is that the class contains most if not all positions and possesses local recruits. The rest of the grading, like you mentioned, is wait and see.The point of my post was that at the end of the day, recruiting is celebrated every year no matter what happens. Coaches and fans will rip their team on the field and in the media when they stink, but the one area they don't deal in brutal honesty is on signing day. Your prime example is exhibit A. The daggers don't come out until after it becomes evident that the recruits can't win.
Not a complaint, just the nature of recruiting.
I'm happy to see Bubba has addressed nearly all positions and many recruits are local. With those two points, I'm fairly pleased with this class given how early it is. Won't know true nature of class for a couple years.

Recruiting is certainly an inexact science. The only ways around that, or to be a consistently good recruiting program, is to recruit the top local prospects year in and year out. That's the only way to nearly guarantee the majority of the class will stick it out and participate their entire eligibility. Attrition kills recruiting and ultimately football programs.I think we all remember a QB with the last name of Mertens from EGF. NDSU got him and people on this forum were all up in arms that we didn't recruit him harder. Well, Mertens turned into an interception machine in Fargo and didn't amount to what people were thinking he would. Recruiting is an inexact science at best and a total crapshoot at worst, although I do think Bubba and his staff have a better handle on it than the previous regime did.
When a lack of local recruiting and attrition hits home, it's not good news. Prime examples include Brewster/Minnesota and Mussman/UND.

A player that UND's staff should at least consider to contact. He would get plenty of playing time.

Good for you... 4 of the ND kids that NDSU targeted were Johanasson, Brooks, Robbins & Grady. WIth 30 scholarships to hand out 2 straight years hard to compete with that amount of money for some kids. Ellefson is the real deal and has an offer from Purdue. A lot of our class have FBS offers so our class is shaping up just fine. As far as PWO no FCS team develops them as well as NDSU.
So NDSU has the best player development program in FCS history? Got it and thanks for the info. Your unbiased insight is much appreciated....

Of course you do. Although he follows NDSU coaches and tweets an NDSU National Championship ring. I would guess the latter is more realistic.Kind of strange for a kid to keep tweeting about a school other than the one he committed to. I would call this one a very soft verbal. Although I don't see NDSU offering him. They are pretty full of db's.
He sat by an NDSU coach on his flight to ND. That's why he has connections via twitter to NDSU. Also, it's obviously known to UND recruits who the rival is and who is on the schedule next season for the first time in over 10 years. Oh, and Mr. Smith can play more than just DB; he played RB and WR as well.

Waiting to hear how it goes with the Hartness quarterback prospect from Fargo.
I'm thinking a class with both Hartness and Heidlebaugh from Rugby would make this class well set at QB. Two ND kids with the potential to be good local QBs for UND.

Concerning Muss, likely it was a case of mostly having below-average recruits (& a few above-average recruits that weren't developed or coached-up) w/ a below-average coaching staff. Not a good combination.
All in all just a below average coaching staff that couldn't develop. That's why they were pressed to recruit outside the area.
Bubba will recruit locally, which is key, and he and his staff will also develop North Dakota and Minnesota kids into contributors, just as NDSU has done over the past years.

That's the very point I was getting at. It doesn't matter that Mussman supposedly (at least according to geaux sioux) recruited the best players out there. If they transfer after a year or two, it doesn't do us any good at all. Go after only good recruits and only players from the upper midwest. That said, get us a stud QB for this class as well.
This is exactly why I believe the kid from Rugby should have a chance to play QB. If he stays and practices behind Mollberg and Studsrud for three years without ever playing a meaningful down, he may eventually develop into a good homegrown FCS quarterback for UND

Biggest reason for attrition is because they were "foreign" players. By that I of course mean players not from North Dakota and Minnesota that are not overly dedicated to UND football and willing to leave at the first sign of difficulty.Mussmans last class was very good. The one before wasn't half bad either. Sure that one had a ton of attrition, for various reasons, but look at the players in those classes. They hit on some kids nobody had heard of. Compared to his previous classes it appears he was starting to figure out who to recruit. Bubba on the other hand had the figured out the second he took the job.
Having a majority of ND and MN players best assures full 5 year participation which is needed for championship teams.

If you're looking for the closest comparison to what UND's uniforms will look like next year, I'd say look at Sacramento State.
Both are Adidas, wear green helmets with black facemasks, and have green/white sets. Only differences would be any trim/style differences and the lighter shade of UND's due to Kelly green.
