I like it. Keep the ideas coming; maybe the marketing and gameday folks at UND will take notice. Of course, one could always contact them directly.
-
I agree; this is now the bottomline expectation (Great job Bubba and staff). Beyond the expectation, the goal is obviously an FCS national championship. No different with UND men's hockey; every season one expects UND to be in the national tournamant but the goal is still a national championship.

Great points by everyone. End zone seating/clubs with bar service needs to be considered. I too wouldn't sit there, but I'm thinking towards the atmoshphere and aesthetics of gameday. Filling the endzones with folks wanting to socialize or "continue the tailgate" would certainly improve both areas. Lastly, consider the two bar clubs in the REA; both are very popular and a similar idea would takeoff with UND football too, I believe.
-
Even if the "end zone row" had its own bar service? Just a thought - it might grow on some with that offered. The more I think about it, the more I do think the endzone space needs to be utilized so they aren't so bare and negative or neutral towards the atmosphere (they certainly don't add to anything as is).
-
I like the idea. I've always thought the dead space behind the end zones was a contributor to the relatively poor gameday atmosphere at the Alerus Center. Filling those end zones with fans using temporary seating of some kind would help the atmosphere and certainly the aesthetics of gameday, in my opinion. I think it should be considered by Kennedy and his rumored "Gameday committee".

I agree with what @ericpnelson just posted above. Call the Ralph Englestad Arena Ticket Office and they will work with you to find the best available options. If you're looking for something they don't have, it's probably too early to know yet if season ticket holders are willing to sell single game tickets or packages quite yet. Season ticket holders possess most seats between the 40s.

... or this, perhaps. Just a thought. Go Hawks
-
Be careful; I wouldn't build up that hypothetical wall. All it takes is a UND FCS national championship and things could change albeit temporarily.
-
Couldn't agree more. In fact, given the current state of UND athletics, I'd argue UND football should have by far the most marketing in terms of investment. UND hockey has already built and established their following to impressive levels.
-
I'm not losing any sleep over the move. In fact, it's about time the move was made. Doesn't make sense for UND, a school in the Midwest, to be in a west coast conference. Montana and Montana State are impressive venues for the FCS but the rest of the Big Sky Conference is quite average. I will enjoy being able to actually attend UND football road games within the Missouri Valley Football Conference.
-
Sounds just fine to me.

Love it!

I'd rather there be fans indoors and eventually in the Alerus Center for the games than those fans not show up at all. Hardcore fans and tailgaters will be at games irregardless of the weather and circumstance, but for UND to really expand attendance (key word is expand), indoor events like the ones mentioned are probably a good idea. The more the merrier. It helps spread the word of UND football, and the faster that word spreads, the quicker the Alerus Center reaches capacity for football games. The indoor atmosphere before the Richmond playoff game was really quite good. Now just imagine the atmosphere/turnout with the addition of the hockey fans that were in New York and after some playoffs WINS ... plenty of potential for an expanding atmosphere and 2017 could see that.

UND and Adidas need to get a university-wide apparel deal done for this reason; it would increase marketing options quite drastically. Unfortunately, coaches like basketball's Brian Jones think Adidas is the devil. Faison (or eventually the successor in not so many years) needs to put his foot down.
-
I don't think Adidas has much of anything to do with UND getting an alternate helmet next season. With that said, I would love to see the throwback gray helmets next season; they would look sharp with the green jerseys and gray pants (along with a couple other uniform sets).

I agree. Proof is in the pudding. People are overthinking the LB issue as of this juncture. Bubba and Schmidt have proven they can consistently produce top defenses at UND. UND's defense will again be fine in 2017. UND's offense still has some proving to do, though, in my opinion.
-
Speed just isn't everything. Hopefully he develops and can see the field more in 2017.
-
About damn time. I - along with many others - have been bringing up the Alerus Center atmosphere countless times over the years. I'm interested to see what they come up with. Simply winning is not the only answer as some think. Go Hawks
-
I'll let him play out his senior season before I speculate on his limitations. It is great to see both Deion Harris and Cole Reyes get the pre-season attention they deserve. The other two DBs in the base defense need to step up in 2017, whoever those two end up being.
-
Agreed. If there's anything this job posting shows, it is that UND football coaches are yet grossly mistreated in terms of relative compensation. The aspirations for UND football still need to be worked on from the top-down. Correct this, Kennedy and Faison. Start a fund specifically for UND football if need be.
-
You folks are far too dreary for the direction that Bubba wants to take UND football. Kansas State went 11-2 in 2012. NDSU beat them in 2013. Iowa went 12-2 in 2015. NDSU beat them in 2016. Utah went 9-4 in 2016. UND has a fair chance in 2017 against them. UND and Bubba need the "supporters" to feel UND can get a statement win with 2017 Utah game. UND has the experience to get this done if they are confident and catch a couple breaks during the game. Not play starting players? I'm going to just take that as pure sarcasm.
-
Completely disagree. QB position is the most important position in football and UND needs to improve there. Depth and competition, depth and competition. Being Mr. Ketteringham in, UND. Remeber Braden Hanson from UNC? Unfortunately, that 2012 team couldn't play defense at all.

Yes sir, quite neat. Goal #1: Frisco. Go UND Fighting Hawks

So, according to SFI, the Eastern Washington and South Dakota State vultures tried to sneak in and grab Grady. Makes me sick but that is the way college football works these days. Glad Grady is sticking with the staff and program that stuck with him all along; welcome back to THE University of North Dakota.
