  1. I’ve slept on it and now can comment: Underwhelming performance but a win. Ultimately UND looked worse than I had hoped. The players and coaches have to do better; more work to do. Positives: QB play was a quite good. Ketteringham is an upgrade over Studsrud. He has a better deep ball and is composed in the pocket. He also just looks the part. Happy with this position which is huge (most important position in sports). UND Pass rush was getting after MVSU all night. With that said, MVSU’s Oline was pathetic. Negative rushing yards and multiple false starts. Garrett Maag is the real deal. Great potential career for him at UND. New wrinkles in offense: throwing to TE, all three backs on field at same time, more plays to Santiago in space, bubble screens, deep shots; the game was called well by Rudolph. Negatives: The fumbles by Oliveira were unacceptable. Can’t turn the ball over. Have to finish in the red zone! Should’ve scored at least 14 more points! To make matters worse, the field goal unit left points out there on the field! Leach looked poor ... DAMN! That will hurt UND Pass defense was unacceptable ... again. This will continue to be UND’s Achilles heel unless they can tighten it up. MVSU shouldn’t be able to pass up and down the field like they did. Cant drop interceptions! Damn! kickoff coverage and kick depth was poor All in all, I would give UND a C - grade for this game; Below average but pass because they won. Washington game likely to be ugly. Have to hope UND plays way better and Washington completely overlooks UND also. Not going to overlook the next game to week 3. Have to take it one game at a time. Improve this week and get after it versus one of the best In the country.
  2. I can see where you’re coming from and it’s a very fair point. I know some of those who have complained regarding DiLorenzo and those folks happen to be far more problematic than DiLorenzo himself. Even so, DiLorenzo has competence issues.

Bears and whales ... CLASSIC! Hopefully a hawk or two also ... Go UND
  4. Agree with both parts. DiLorenzo is a Kelley administration holdover who should’ve received the boot a while ago. I hope it’s actually coming now.
  5. I get 13 also

I can respond when someone, in reference to me, says: “Well at least he gave us a preemptive warning, as if he needed to do that for us to know that he would be ripping on people for taking away positives. I am sure the coaches are hinged on every one of his ultimatums.” At this juncture with the improvements the UND staff has made to the roster why would anyone even consider 1) UND plays MVSU remotely close and 2) that I would rip on UND for doing well and appropriately crushing MVSU. @tnt has me all wrong and I’m expressing that.

You in with the MVSU is a playoff team group? My Lord people on here are sensitive. You also probably believe UND football players should get participation trophies for just suiting up. What I said was and is not wrong: UND needs to blow out Mississippi Valley State.

If UND plays this team close I will blast anyone who tries to justify such a pathetic effort. Fortunatley, I expect Bubba’s squad to come out and take care of business. UND’s offense better put up 50 and the defense needs to really emphasize that sack city.

Can’t really teach work ethic; for UND football coverage, the Herald still lacks it (also pride in the work). Hockey of course has great effort behind it though.

Find a different picture, like maybe one with UND football players practicing or Mississippi Valley State against someon else. Blowing up a photo with NDSU players is just asking for this type of response. All in all, not a big deal but could/should be done differently.
  11. There’s this: https://www.justice.gov/atr/health-care Altru is likely here to stay for some time.
  12. Here’s an opinion (one that I absolutely agree with) on the primary funding project that Bubba needs help with: http://www.grandforksherald.com/opinion/editorials/4490940-our-view-hpc2-looms-definite-need-und

Very fair, have to give Maag the opportunity first. We know as great as Wanzek and Toivonen are that they are definitely possession guys and won’t be reeling in 50+ yard scores with any consistency. UND can’t rely solely on Santiago running for long scores. Either Santiago plays out wide more and/or Adeoti, McKinney, or Greibel has a break out season. UNDs offense desperately needs a deep threat! Remember the Clive Georges factor from 2015 (unfortunately missed nearly all of ‘16).

UND did beat Missouri State by a score of 34-0 in 2017 with that team that “wasn’t very good at anything last year” ... Albeit MIssouri State was poor and it was prior to the injuries piling up. Wih all that said, Missouri State is a far better program than Mississippi Valley State. UND needs to win by at least 50. Not only for early season confidence but praticially for depth development. Get the young guys some valuable game reps early on!
  15. Good point.
  16. The student seating needs to be adjusted. Ive been saying it for years. With the students consistently not using their entire allotted sections, the student sections should be reduced and/or relocated. We all know paying season ticket holders would love to consistently attend home games seated at the 50 yard line.
  17. They were just so-so; now that there’s an established bar presence there, the catwalks truly will be where it’s at. A field level bar would be even more hyped and attended. All good things that should be in the works.

    2018 Season

It’s a great series thus far! They do great with it and need to keep it going. I like it so much I wish It had its own time slot for tv programming. Also it could be a bit longer, but I’m just being particular because it’s such a good source of exposure for UND football.
  19. It makes sense. It’s a huge hit at hockey games at the REA.
  20. Up to this point, this is true unfortunately.
  21. I hope he puts up big numbers. Biggest difference should be deep shots downfield if offensive line can protect him. If he does put up big time passing numbers, UND wins many games and is a postseason team.
  22. Tremendous! Prior to these changes (particularly two years ago and before), everything was done half ass and anyone who has been to other college football games for comparison knows this. Glad the initiative was made to improve UND football gameday to what it should be.
  23. Ketteringham must be an improvement over Studsrud. If he isn’t or simply equals his play, UND’s offense will remain the same. There has been no pleasant surprises (yet) on the offensive line to indicate the running game alone can carry the offense. Ultimately, it takes an entire team to win games, so UND’s defense improving is also a huge factor in win total for 2018.

    2018 Season

I stand by what I said. He was a tough player and a good leader; doesn’t mean he was a great overall QB via arm talent. In fact, he wasn’t. Some people on this board can’t handle the damn truth and are way too sensitive. Get over it and move on. Talk football rather than making me a personal target; plenty of professional losers on this board. If UND’s football program actually reflected this level of sensitivity and ignorance, they wouldn’t win a playoff game before 2030.

    2018 Season

Studsrud was an average QB, even relative to FCS competition. With that said, I think the UND offensive system could’ve better fit his skill sets. Nevertheless, he certainly had certain intangibles which I think gets people biased emotionally. From an X’s and O’s and ability standpoint, Studsrud was not all-conference caliber. His arm strength and accuracy were both limited and his reads were at times poor. His toughness and ability to move were positives, but let’s not talk Studsrud into something he was not on here.
