Yes I have. Agree to disagree.

Cedric Case went to Texas State, not Texas Tech. Big difference. And people weren't expecting UND to have a QB signed and ready to go after losing Case, but rather were upset they lost a high-caliber long-time UND QB commit to a school from the Sun Belt Conference? Really?! The Sun Belt!

I predicted Grover will never start AND win. He is not good enough. You say here I am completely wrong but then basically agree with me. Strange ... He may have the intangibles but that doesn't dispute my point: he won't start and win games. If he does, great! I just don't see that. Not enough arm talent or big play ability. Zimmerman played well at times in 2017 and was voted captain for 2018. I think that indicates who the players are actually behind.

Every FCS program in the country is very likely to lose to NDSU by multiple possessions. You only get a chance at beating NDSU, though, if you first schedule them. To be the best you have to beat the best. Play 'em!!!
-
Get blown out by FU? Do something about it and play better. You can't be the best if you can't beat the best, which starts by actually playing the best. Just so happens that the best FCS program in the history of FCS football is only 80 miles from the University of North Dakota. I have no problem playing UND's biggest rival on the road two times in a row. UND had no leverage and needed to do that in order to get it scheduled. Something worth bitching about is how UND performed in the 2015 game. That needs to improve. Also, I think it is worth bitching about how UND has to play in Fargo again in 2020. Why couldn't UND play NDSU in Grand Forks in 2020? The MVFC schedule screwed UND over more than Bubba and Faison did by scheduling the game for 2015 and 2019.

Sure, bring in both in such a scenario. Let’s actually see one first.
-
I completely agree with your assessment.

Who said a HS QB shouldn’t be the focus? If referring to me, I simply said the focus should be either HS or drop down depending on who is more talented. Why not take the best player? QB position desperately needs a boost. Also, Zimmerman has no shot? Favorites are Ketteringham and Boltmann. Zimmerman will be in the mix but I’m afraid Grover’s ceiling is 2nd string. Very high on Grover? Just like Heidlebaugh and Bolinske?

Relative to most on here, yes; therefore, I'll take that as a compliment. Despite my track record of predictions on here, most would rather blindly dispute all forms of criticism. To each their own I guess.
-
Exactly. This idea that everyone not only knows how UND is going to perform next year but ALSO how every team on their schedule is going to perform is hysterical. Let’s actually allow the new UND offensive playbook to be completed, the winter/spring/summer workouts to be concluded, and the new players to have arrived on campus before we start predicting. My goodness for premature limitations ... TRUST THE PROCESS

I’ve watched his film and have seen him practice. Next QB up. It hurts not getting Cedric Case but that ship has sailed. Now on to the next recruit.
-
I predicted the same thing with QB Ben Bolinske from Minot and got chastised on this board. Guess what, he left for Division II. Same went for Heidlebaugh but thankfully he found a spot at receiver. Grover will never start. If he does, UND won't win. A lot on here refuse to listen to realistic criticism.
-
Freund doesn't want to hear from you, or probably most on this board, regarding football recruiting and strategy. If UND's coaching staff starts regularly taking suggestions from people on this board then UND football is worse off than I thought.
-
Projected depth signees: They aren't needed at this time for the QB position. Plenty of examples of UND QBs over the years who have had little to no chance to ever start and win football games (Heidlebaugh, Grover, Bolinske, etc.).
-
Nah Give me the more talented player, whether drop down or HS. A high school kid with no shot to ever play and win does very little for program’s future. If the HS QB is good, then great - sign him. We’ll see what materializes.
-
EWU vs NDSU will be determined by NDSU running all over EWU’s soft defense. NDSU by multiple scores ...
-
Losing kids to Texas is one thing, but Texas State? UND just recently had a kid transfer FROM Texas State to play football at UND (De’Mun Mercer). Can’t lose high quality recruits to non-P5 programs ... damn. Well, next QB recruit up. Freund needs to get a lot more out of that position than what UND has been getting recently. This recruiting hiccup may all be a moot point if Freund gets a lot out of one of the current 3 on roster. [enter critical comments of unfounded optimism here].
-
Until they actually play who knows. All I know is that Case had a tremendous summer camp in front of the UND coaches and he had a prep career every bit as good as Boltman if not better
-
So UND will suck as long as NDSU is good? There’s something to that, but it’s not all bad. Why can’t UND pick out recruits that the other top teams in the region (SDSU, UNI) are vying for?? Point is, I agree that UND is in a tough spot grabbing players that NDSU offers a scholarship to, but UND needs to get players that SDSU and UNI offers scholarships to and Minnesota offers PWO opportunities to. As for Cedric Case, the situation is different in that this is a long commited kid lost “last second”. If not to a P5 team, UND should never lose recruits like that.
-
All FBS schools are not clearly better than all FCS schools - I sure hope that this fallacy is not all it came down to. I don't know the whole story here, but obviously it hurts for UND to lose a highly regarded player who plays the most important position.
-
There will always be competing teams. You have to win and keep commits. UND lost here. Again not end of the world but yeah.
-
Damn. Not good. Obviously not the end of the world for the UND football program but certainly not ideal. Not something a team that just came off a poor offensive season needs.
