  1. For sure. Experienced back with plenty of carries while he was at UNI. Just need to hope he has a healthy 2022 and then he’ll be a great contributor. go Hawks
  2. The portal has finally giveth! yes, this is definitely a much needed positive addition
  3. Yeah, it’s disgusting. Not good
  4. If I had to guess, Waletzko is going to go in the 3rd round. Great player and great success story for UND football. Need to keep it going - momentum is only "so-so" right now for UND football from my perspective.
  5. The waning attendance speaks to a lot of UND football failures, not just spring football.
  6. Wrong. You obviously don’t get out much. Thanks for your opinion, though.
  7. The “home of UND football” doesn’t really feel like the home of UND football. This dysfunction is noticeable if you look at it from all angles.
  8. Sure. Fact: not a game format. Fact: no tailgating. Fact: not held in Alerus Center. Fact: big ten programs and MVFC still hold spring events in home stadium. Nothing made up there, but keep getting defensive; it’s entertaining.
  9. You’re missing the point, per usual.
  10. At UND with Bubba … sure. But nearly all Big 10 programs still hold an event at their home stadium to give the fans something to cheer about, if nothing more than to just get together before the fall. Several MVFC teams also do this. UND being scared of the Alerus Center for a “spring wrap up” is telling. Do a tailgate in the lot and then a pregame production in the Alerus to at least give UND fans something to do. The lack of marketing for UND football is somewhat scary.
  11. Feeney better than Schuster?! Blasphemy according to the masses on this board … And the facility that should be showcased should be the game day facility (Alerus Center), unless they’re embarrassed by that … just don’t agree with that recruiting tactic. Bubba going conservative is a recurring theme. Retirement from coaching will be a nice transition for Bubba, hopefully sooner rather than later.
  12. The “spring wrap up” is today. bush league in my opinion. UND still can’t figure out how to do a spring football game at their home venue of the Alerus Center. Would be nice to make an actual event out of it- even if only 1000 or 2000 people show up. Still builds more excitement for the team than another practice in their practice facility. Just my two cents. Hope no one gets hurt.
  13. The difference is, at NDSU, the culture and masses focus on football. The majority of funds goes towards football. At UND, the culture and masses focus on hockey. The majority of funds goes towards hockey. Simple difference, but it is, in fact, the difference. For UND football to ascend further, there will need to be a major financial gift (like UND once received from RE for REA). That is the only path moving forward where a significant change in fortune comes for UND football. If UND had a $100 million facility for UND football, which sport at UND would be the most popular? Money talks, directly and indirectly to fans as well as it creates the culture. For UND hockey, pretty darn hard to overlook a frickin’ massive $100M Arena in place for hockey games. Will UND ever again receive a gift (individual or collective) that trumps Engelstad’s gift for hockey? Doubtful, but that’s what you have to hope for for the sake of UND athletics, specifically football.
  14. It is what it is - mediocre in football and basketball - but it is beyond disgusting. Change needs to happen at the top, and currently, for UND athletics, the top cares principally about hockey.
  15. Maybe? I would use a different word.
  16. Yeah, it is quite funny; you’ve exaggerated your ”important role” from day #1. And what’s happened before? No significant success as a DI football program to speak of, but there has been spurts.
  17. The people outside of the team (all of us posting on this board) don’t truly affect those expectations. It starts with Bubba and his coaching staff, but there’s no indication that the expectations are going to change with this group, especially since Bubba is at the end of his career rather than the beginning. His track record speaks volumes. And now UND’s administration just extended that mediocre track record until Bubba’s inevitable retirement. UND football will need to be a surprising dark-horse, because nothing here speaks to excitement for the future.
  18. No, but the score against UND was a short pass and then run after catch, so should still be good.
  19. Starts at the top. I honestly think Chaves doesn't give two shits about UND football. He has hockey fever as so many other ADs before him fell victim to …
  20. Burnt UND secondary for 50+ yard touchdown last fall. Would be upgrade to current UND receiving corps. Freund following on Twitter ….
  21. UND just extended a coach coming off a 5-6 losing season…. This program/athletic department is an embarrassment. Pathetic. Not impressed by this move.
