I agree with the offensive question marks for next year. Yet, I’m not letting the D off the hook. I know, I know we’ve had injuries. We’ve also been terrible. Is Harris and some young ILBers going to improve us that much? I’m not convinced that we’re going to be dominant on D. I’m hopeful just not convinced.

Niether was I. Although I never watched him practice I heard Rattelle was one that had another level in a game and in the weight room, but practiced at what appeared to be 80%.

I love seeing this. In a season like this let’s find those future contributors. They may not shine in practice but some people are just gamers. I’ve seen it for years. A guy doesn’t look like much in practice and then has another gear when he gets in a game. I’ve seen it go the other way as well. A player looks great in practice but gets in a game and the speed of competition is too fast for them to process. I want to win games but let’s find some positives for next year. The goal should be a natty and that’s not happening this year. Let’s make it happen in the near future.

Some of the good things that we can get from this year is establishing players/coaches that can’t cut it at this level. Hiedlebaugh needs a position change. Rudy needs to join the NDSU coaching staff. On defense I’d like to see Hunt anywhere but on the field next year. I thought it was painfully obvious after the Richmond game last year. Going into this year I figured it would be Harris and Holm but we know wha happened there. This D can’t have a welcome mat to throw on one side of the field. He maybe an athlete but he’s not a D-1 corner.

One thing that has become a glaring fact is our fan interest. South Dakota Game Day thread was 36 pages long. This game only 6. Things are spiraling down right now and it’s going to hurt our recruiting. Changes need to be made.

There’s always money spent on both sides. Either it’s the lawyers or the plaintiffs opposite of the defendants. The problem with lawyers is they get too many free rides. They walk in demand a settlement and make a mint. Not enough people stand up to these bozos. I’ve got a work comp case going with a lawyer down the street from us. They have a crappy case. He knows it and keeps dragging it out. I felt if we caved on this one he’d be all over every scrape and nic til he retired. I didn’t think he did. Still find it fascinating that if you want to fire somebody you need to pay them. Baffles me. If you fire somebody and you take the right steps. Legal action shouldn’t hurt you. Yes lawyers cost money. Yet it costs both sides money.

It’s ridiculous to think if you put 9 years into a job, you get your tenth years salary for nothing. If this is the normal government payout practice our civil servant checkbooks are out of control more than I thought. Did Kelley receive the same payout?

The guy was obviously convinced to retire. Call it what you want in the end he was let go. The question is why? Why is it such a secret? Why the charade with the press conference and fake love fest? Seems weird. I also don’t give a sh&t. I was indifferent about the guy. Didn’t love him, didn’t hate him. Bring on the new guy, let’s see how does with taking away the stipends or finding the money for them. Tough job but somebody has to do it. That’s why I think our next AD will be more of a fundraiser than anything.

I doubt it’s anything about a single sport or it’s staff members. Sounds like it’s coming from the athletic department in general. If Gundy says we won’t be disappointed, I’d guess it’s an announcement of a big donor.
