1. This weekend I had the chance to watch a bit of the Michigan State/Minnesota games and came to a more clear understanding of why Lucia is excited to get into the Big Ten league. The amount of contact and hitting in the games was very minimal especially when compared to a normal WCHA series. Many times a MSU player had a Gopher lined up and either made a soft hit or just played the puck. That type of play is what the Gophers want to engage in with the players they get. After they are in the BT league it will be interesting to see how the do when they play more physical non-conference games.
2. If he doesn't stay, I sure hope there is another solid recruit coming in with Zane. All the eggs in one basket could be dangerous with a freshman goaltender. I am kind of surprised there wasn't one brought in this year to gain experience. You had to know Dell is a big flight risk after this season. It seems like they are counting on Zane to be the man before he has even stepped on campus. However, on the positive side if Dell stays and is able to mentor Zane for a season it will look like brilliant planning. I guess trust in Hakstol is the best practice.
3. Probably old news, sorry if I missed this being posted already, but Frattin is back up with the Leafs. He logged a good amount of ice time and a couple of goals with Marlies then hopped on a plane out of Oklahoma City just in time to miss the quake. Still hasn't found the net in the big league, but getting chance to perform.
4. Maybe it is too early to talk or think about, but I wonder if any of the sophomores or juinors on UAH would be of value to the Sioux. IF, there is some talent there it would be nice to legally convince them to transfer now. We would have them for most all of next season which could really help us. By the looks of what will be left of our now junior class (Knight and Kristo will likely be gone) and our sophomore class we could use some strong leadership, experience, and not to mention scoring, to join the team next year.

5. What fight is Eades going to be talking about?
6. Good grief, I wasn't able to sleep a bit last night! I can't imagine how the players slept with the circus that has been going on around them the last two weeks, especially Frattin. What did he do like 15 interviews in a matter of five days. I guess they are probably better adept at handling as elite athletes, I hope their minds are clear. Can't wait for puck drop! Go Sioux!!!!
7. I am with you on this one. I can't wait to see the video of Cepis getting his teeth knocked in. He will find out quickly the refs won't get in between him and someone wanting to knock his head off like they do in the WCHA.
8. These brackets seem to be a long shot, but I love the idea of UNO going against Yale and Denver against BC. It gives us a chance to benchmark how those two east coast teams size up agains our familiar opponents. On a separate note, why is everyone so certain UND will go to St. Louis? I am not disagreeing, but it seems less obvious to me. If the CCHA is the host in St. Louis wouldn't that automatically put the highest seeded CCHA team in that location? I get NCAA is all about the $'s and fans in the seats but it doesn't seem logical. I don't care either way, Green Bay or St. Louis, neither of them are the Ralph so it doesn't matter everyone is just so set on St. Louis.
9. Maybe at least the Pony line time on the ice is minimal on Saturday and the third and fourth line see a lot of ice. This gives Fratt, Malone, and Trupp a breather and protects them a bit from injury or getting pulled into a fight. If they are on the bench they can at least be plugged in as needed to assure the win but not overexerted. I think that is a win win compromise.
10. Any description on how SC got the second goal?
11. This isn't a bash Eidness thread nor should there be one, his is a good goalie. However, what always scared me was how he played the puck. He would come out way to far and have no sense of urgency when trying to play it to a forward. I can recall several near misses and a few ooops goals.
12. Seems like they are just kind of playing with Alaska. They are only sending one in on the forecheck and automatically dumping as soon as they cross the red line.
13. Trupp back on bench. I have never been so happy!
