somewhere in fargo gene taylor keeps reaching for that phone to make that call but pride and the thought of that phone call from chapman if he does keeps him from going through with it...
although i like the thought of the bison staying in the ncc 2.0 the thought of the bsc adding idaho, ndsu, and maybe some like the univeristy of san diego or some other cali schools would be nice?

Sorry I don't see the Alerus that way. Most multipurpose venues will have a sterile feel. But it's the fans that make the impact of the atmosphere. I believe the problem is that our fan base has gotten so spoiled with it's facilities that they have lazily grown accustomed to cheer or look to video boards to be entertained or when to cheer and be rowdy. Really, it boils down to the fan- the experience is what you make it...if you're into the game- your going to have a great time if you're just going to just sit there like a tree stump- then I guess you most likely will not have a good time...but then what will? I will say that our TEAM better start playing a little better- like scoring more than 1 offensive touchdown against a non scholarship D1 would help too. The point is I think the Football facility question is far more complex than "sterile & boring"- Unless you were talking about our offense.
I dare you to find a FCS team that plays on a football field that is more boring that piece of junk rug at the Al? Two giant Alerus logos and two Sioux words in the end zones? I know they replacing the field next year but what are the odds the Alerus center logos will be bigger and more in your face? They should have the interlocking N&D at midfield, with the Big Sky logo at the 25 and North in one end zone and Dakota in the other. The sound system stinks. Me and my three friends that went to the Drake game couldn't hear a word anyone was saying about anything the whole game. The banners that hang from the roof also partially block the video boards too. Also the rise over run or pitch of the seats sucks. I'm only how many rows up when i sit in the last row behind the students yet I feel i'm miles from the action. Compare that to REA where they have the highest pitch possible (ADA sets this i think?) for their seats and sit in the last row of REA and you feel your right on top of the action. In my mind the seating pitch is one the biggest failures in the Alerus that makes that it feel so sterile.

The Alerus is what it is. A concrete box along the highway that made a handful of local people a lot of money (kind of like the Choice Wellness Center will). Sterile and boring (kind of like the Drake game!!). Hopefully Faision is working behind the scenes to secure a long term home for Sioux football for their entry into to the BSC and beyond (WAC/MWC???). Why is it that UND hasn't paid for a football stadium maybe since the 1920's yet it still doesn't have a plan or money set aside for a on-campus football stadium that would cost millions of dollars? I know its nice to have people like Ralph to cut checks for 125 milion dollars but when are we gonna lead the way and get it done.

The problem really is that there is nothing to motivate the NCAA to relent on their position. They have been getting beaten down every time they turn around... USC, Cam Newton, Ohio State, and on and on... They must just be feeling that they have to win one and this is one they have already won, so they won't back down at this point. It seemed, back when the meeting was originally scheduled and the NCAA was going to come to North Dakota to talk to the legislators & the governor, that they may have been willing to talk, but they appear to have taken the hard line on the Fighting Sioux now.
Mr. Carlson doesn't seem to have anything in his back pocket to pull out and save the name, at least not that he has leaked to the press, so the result,as Darell put it will be a name-changing decision.
HOPE MR CARLSON HAS SOME MAFIA CONNECTIONS AND PULLS OUT FILES ON EACH OF THOSE NC$$ CROOKS AND FLASHES IT TO THEM AND THEN MAKES THEM AN OFFER THEY CAN'T REFUSE!!!

I first me Cordero last year where I work and he was a really really nice young guy..likes to talk football.
I had a feeling about MH having a shot at qb...being that they say he is one of the best if not the best athlete on the team.

I still think the only way this meeting does anything is if they bring people that actually live on the Spirit Lake Res. like Eunice D. who could look across that table and speak from the heart and make little president berkeley squirm in his mini-chair.
I also think that the delegation might to need to ask if dropping the logo from athletic unis but still sell merchandise but keeping the name would be ok.
to be a fly on the wall in that meeting in indy!!!!

I emailed that emmert guy and surprise surprise no response yet...i just asked him if he regarded UND as the best university in the country for American Indians and if so why do suppose that is?

That would be awesome if U of San Diego joined the BSC...anyone checked out their boards to see what anyone is saying....Any new news on Idaho, SJSU, and USU? I did check out Egriz.com and yes that is some violent stuff over there.... I'm sure Fullerton is waiting by the phone to see which three schools (not you south dakota) wanna to be part of the future of the BSC conference (two eight team divisions and then hopefully cal-davis and cal-poly would be REQUIRED to join 100% into the BSC). Hopefully Faison can get out toof the Mines game and bring in some school from FCS to come here in place...if not its only one more year of crap and then its on...

don't know about anyone else but it would be been fun to see anti, anderson, and webb play a few more minutes together....fun game last night and a nice win against a bsc team!!
