remember everywhere outside of MNDakota, they are club teams and super teams. Say what you want about how it destroys the purity of the game (I would agree mostly) but these kids are the best in massive population centers and Detroit and Boston and NY and Philly and Chicago are hockey towns. yep, in the States you want the guys at the 40 man camp, the guys who play at Caesars, Honeybaked, Mission, Shattuck, Bishop Kerney, Mount St Charles, Neponset, Minutemen, Pens Elite, Long Island Gulls, Buffalo Jr Sabres, Dallas Stars Elite, Mid Fairfield all having UND at the top of their dream schools.

I tried a bubble and I used to fog it up so badly...I didn't have a guy on the bench to towel it clean between shifts, so I quickly went back to a cage. As an adult I went no visor or face protection...but coaching kids and playing other out of shape old men posed little risk

good player. 4.25 star from neutral zone (for what its worth). lots of nice scouting reports. Passed the eye test in Minny State. Like all the local kids, the big question is once they get into the bigger pond, do they rise or are they already at the top of their game. If I'm recruiting, I am watching a ton of film on him and watching him closely at USA camp...I don't think he is a no brainer chippa, but he is a possible chippa that just hasn't seen the ocean....

Again this is where the NIL $ starts to be really, really important...Gavin McKenna has nothing to prove in the WHL anymore. Playing vs men in college hockey for a year with a nice fat pay check on his way to the #1 draft pick sounds pretty good...hanging around a college campus instead of in a basement in Medicine Hat sounds pretty good too...putting on 15 pounds of muscle so there is zero doubt that his next stop is the NHL also sounds pretty good....

I asked myself who was Zach Mauer, then I realized you were talking Parise AND Mauer. Minnesota is extremely provincial and always has been...it has definitely hurt their sports success at the NCAA and Professional levels

So was this a coup d'etat? It was quite obvious something was amiss when Brad's very well written letter neither thanked nor endorsed a man he worked with for many years. Perhaps we will never know the sordid details, and I can live without knowing. So we throw our support behind Dane and see what he can bring in terms of change. Hopefully I am looking forward to Friday and Saturday nights again with a couple cold ones and Sioux Hockey on TV by the time October rolls around...

modern coaching believes in a possession game...if you have the puck you can score and can't be scored on. Getting pucks deep and forechecking the hell out of the D is only when your group is gassed or you are disadvantaged in numbers or you don't think you can play a skill game against the competition.

Bump had a very good freshman year, and he turned 21 in November...He was older, big bodied and will be in the NHL in 1 week.
