I love GF too, but that was one game. The lake conference for example is a different animal than anywhere else. They sent 2 teams to State and had 5 teams in the top 13 in the rankings.

I wish Minny would have a 16 team tourney. Some of these sections are not nearly as competitive as others. I guess you gotta win when it counts.

15O is a specific USA designation that has its own national tournament, I would not say the kids playing 15O AAA out of Shattuck or BK or Caesars or Honeybaked are playing AA...

all the insta and internet hype is just that...hype...scouts don't watch hype or highlights, they watch games. who is better to a scout, the guy with a couple highlight reel goals and big celly's or the guy who got one and took great routes with perfect details and won...

So, Joey Cullen is universally a top 5 player in the birthyear, will he stay and do before and after with the force or will he go to the program? I mean Moorhead is stacked for years...I think Matt Cullen should get the key to the city for what he did to build that crew and the community hockey wise. They are lined up for a decade thanks to Matt. Its almost unfair...they will own Section 8 probably forever now...at least they played an elite schedule with the metro blue bloods.

Roeder is elite...he is quietly one of the absolute best players in minny high school. He plays a good physical game, clean but hard, and he reads the ice, handles contact and dishes it. I put him among the absolute best projections in Minny

Other topic, I get going to USHL or CHL out of high school...to AAA? Only if you are 16 playing prep AAA or better at an elite program. One example of a late blooming player isn't the norm. If you are leaving and then going to the NAHL...good luck to you.

If you leave your local to go to a tier 1 program you had better be elite...and I don't mean in the eyes of your mom. I'm talking certifiable top 2 rounds of CHL or USHL draft. You also better have a darn good reason for not staying that has to do with your own development and you better be going to a top tier program with top tier coaching and development and competition or else you are simply throwing money away.

I gotta think that guys having success playing older competition (that's what the NTDP does after all) will be seen as "better" so that's the 2010's playing high school or prep or 16U or 18U. I'd also think they'd pay attention to the league. So Minnesota's power conferences in hs hockey are not apples to apples with some dude playing high school in California. Massachusetts prep school circuit same.

Joey Cullen had to have gotten a bid. There's no world where he isn't in the top 4 or 5 players in the birthyear when healthy, and that's including Dmen like Daley. Did Buttweiler get a bid for sure? He's a good player and deserving of a look. Also not surprised on no Hontvedt. Nicol did get big young like his brother, but the kid is really good for his age. His older brother plays the game right, I imagine he does too.

In AA- Lotta really good teams are out in the metro power sections. Seciton 8: I can't see Moorhead not getting there and making a run. Section 7 making an argument will be surprising, it is weak this year. Edina vs Wayzata will be a good tilt. I think Tonka will walk Chan, but you never know. The Andover vs Centennial match is a shocker that nobody saw either of them going to the dance.

yeah...the 16 year olds running social media sites probably ain't the best sources. I'm not saying they are wrong, but not definitive.

they should do it the weekend before, so all those boys can go to the State tourney to cheer on the school they will be playing for. That is how you build the culture
