No disagreement here. Masking didn’t stop us from getting sick, but it might’ve resulted in a lower viral load. Masks in public settings indoors makes common sense. I’m feeling really good about our outcome. We never stopped living life, took basic precautions. Got it. Got over it.

You see what they did at the Shanghai airport? Would we as a society be okay with that level of draconian lock down? I don’t think we’d be okay with that.

nobody is denied healthcare. Reform has never been about care, it’s always been about who pays for it.

Us system is bi-Modal in terms of pop health metrics. That is an issue, but if you are educated with means- there has been no better time or place to seek healthcare than in the US today. I would also contend that % of GDP is not a negative. What should a highly developed society spend money on if not improving health and delivering healthcare? It certainly is better than spending it on say marketing and producing junk that you don’t need.

If you or someone you loved were dealing with a serious healthcare issue...let’s say it’s cardiac...would you rather be in the Canadian system or the US? I can tell you that id be at the Cleveland Clinic tomorrow.

Wealth and income are two very different things. If you have a high income you can become wealthy over time, but they are different concepts. the 1% in CA is about $650k, nationwide it’s about $500k. If you are earning that as a w2 employee somewhere you don’t have a ton of tax “loopholes”

If I ever hear someone call for “fair share” again for “1%” I’m going to blow a gasket. Basically, in the major coastal cities if you aren’t in the 1% you are proper f’d financially. People making $400k-$800k are victims of envy politics big time.

Thank you

You are right, however; I don’t know what sarcasim is....sarcasm, sure, but I can’t speak to sarcasim
-
But I survived covid, so I got that going for me, which is nice.

It appears sarcasm is lost on some of our friends

Speaking from the perspective of one who still lived life, took precautions, but still caught it. There is absolutely nothing you can do to stop the spread of this virus short of sealing positives up like ET and instituting Marshall law. I don’t think that’s acceptable to anyone. So, take your vitamins, get rest...hope your immune system doesn’t go nuts.

Ahhh, Senator, we’re you, ahhh, drunk at the time?

Ha! Thanks

The other thing I would say is that I got very emotional. Some of it due to the media’s portrayal of this as the Black Death. Some of it probably anxiety/vascular issue feedback loop.

Yes- this thing kills when your oxygen level gets too low. Pulse ox is an easy way to make sure you don’t need to rush into the hospital. 96-99 is normal. 92...call your doctor.

It was a minor flu in terms of what it felt like. I had pneumonia about 10 years ago, and that was wayyyyy worse. Now from a thriving perspective, those vascular numbers I shared are doozies. An unhealthy heart probably couldn’t take that abuse without having some consequences.

Greetings all. Tomorrow I will officially be deemed free of Covid. It will be 10 days post onset of symptoms and 7 days free of fever and other symptoms. I echo Goon on the vit D and Zinc. Load up! It’s a sneaky bastard too. I never would have thought I had covid when I tested positive. My little girl was positive too and she has been entirely asymptomatic. My experience started with the most inauspicious throat tickle/cough and some light fatigue. 2 days later I had intermittent fever and chills. My heart rate and blood pressure both took off as well. I was walking around at 124/80 on 50mg of losartan. Last Friday I was 180/105 on same dose. Normal resting heart rate is 65-75 for me. It was 100 with covid. I feel very fortunate to have had a minor flu for my COVID experience, minus the vascular symptoms.

The Republic has been corrupted for a long time. Deficit spending to give out entitlements and other free stuff...Obama phones, etc. 1/2 the population are net recipients...

My wife falls into a similar camp...she understood all of it, so she voted “none of the above” to try and avoid f$ckery. She couldn’t support the democratic agenda, but couldn’t stand Trump. I get it. I don’t care for the man’s style either, but I focused on policy.

How about people who just don’t enjoy funding a corrupt federal government?

I still think that is too early, same with Virgina. The total geek stats guy is way too smug
