  1. I’m on losartan for my HTN...I now feel like Superman!
  2. I would advise all intelligent people to avoid entertainment media for answers: Fox, MSNBC, CNN, NPR...all not good sources for unbiased info.
  3. You mean the Tiny Island country with 77 cases and significant recent upticks?
  4. Are these jaywalkers locked in a room with McGyver or what?
  5. Ha!!! We could televise it, make billions- nothing else for people to do but watch tv at home
  6. Testing makes people feel like they are doing something, when in reality it accomplishes nothing for the general public. There is no treatment or cure beyond time and support I.e fluids, oxygen, secondary infection treatment. Possibly some antiviral therapies have seen positive results...immunothrapies are being actively pursued as well. Tests are also imperfect- you would “imprison” healthy people and let spreaders walk. it’s a scapegoat to blame testing, and it’s misplaced
  7. Incorrect. We are not where we are today because of a lack of test kits. There was no way, repeat again, zero, no way that we were going to use test kits to isolate and contain every positive person (and carrier object) out there. And even if by some crazy miracle we did, quarantine does not work- read the models. This virus is airborne- woukd you use the test kits to find the positive and then just kill them and incinerate their bodies? Would you separate the uninfected and lock them in clean rooms and let the sick battle it out.
  8. I’m still at a loss trying to understand why this is so different than H1N1 flu. I understand trying to mitigate an explosion, but you can avoid dying in a car crash or a plane crash by never leaving home.
  9. If this is how we handle all future virus outbreaks we are really screwed.
  10. Almost every private insurer has waived member liability for testing, removed early refill edits or allowed overrides for early refills- in some cases 90 days, and extended existing prior authorizations for additional months. Healthcare system is doing the right things. Volume is currently manageable from what I’m seeing. Stats being reported in this country are also promising from rate of new infection and certainly deaths. Each hour brings more info, and we aren’t out of the woods yet, but we seem to be managing on the health side...economically we have a much different story. I bought a handle of Crown yesterday- just in case they close booze sales...Bay area under lockdown...LA still open for business.
  11. White makes sense, black I can live with, but It should read NCHC champion 2019- 2020 though, nothing more.
  12. I think we should wall paper the restrooms at the Ralph or maybe the visiting team locker room with participation banners...
  13. I respect your opinion as your right. I disagree on the accountability you describe. As partial and incomplete information comes in, you trust your people and make the best calls you can. Is FDR accountable for Pearl Harbor? Is Jimmy Carter accountable for AIDS? Test kits, test kits, test kits- Not the damn issue. It was how aggressive to respond. It isn’t a simple CDC public health question. Way more variables and considerations. Thus far we’re looking at the equivalent deaths of lightning strikes. If it ends up being twice H1N1, was it worth blowing up the economy? Less than H1N1? We’ll never know, because we won’t know what would’ve happened without intervention. end of my rant- peace brother- good luck out there to you and your family.
  14. At this point in time our healthcare system is keeping up, there has been minimal death, but Our economy is being devastated on Wall Street and Main Street. we waited to break out draconian measures until it was the only thing we could do. Too late? Time will tell. I’d be reluctant to shut down the country, cage (aka isolate)people coming into the country that might be sick or even who are sick, until I was absolutely certain it was the only option.
  15. The economic component that everyone forgets is that in order to break even from a 29% drop, the resultant figure needs to go up by 41%...
  16. Not sure if ICU in France is different than ICU here. France May have already chosen to aggressively treat the most likely to recover too, so not admitting 60+ people with underlying disease to ICU
  17. Wait until the real estate echo...lots of boomers going to get wiped out financially. Last month $1M in 401k and $1M in home equity all up CA, Seattle, New England, NY, mid Atlantic....about to be $500k in 401k and an upside down house...
  18. This is why I wanted to close the markets yesterday. Wealth is evaporating, and even those who have significant assets are not buying. If anything they’re betting both ways. We haven’t seen the ripple effect yet, which will be massive.
  19. I see this thread now closing...that topics too hot for me to touch
  20. This where $hit gets real...broke leads to desperation...desperation leads to bad stuff. Powder keg is an understatement.
  21. Just wait until a major layoff gets announced or a company’s payroll doesn’t execute...
  22. 48 hours. Cool down the vol. we suspended trading after 9/11
