It would be unlikely to use private aircraft UNLESS the plane was already on location for another reason and/or the flight was already scheduled. I've interviewed several times in my career for executive roles with BIG companies with private jets. I was always flown commercial. Black car service waiting at airport, but never the corporate jet for an interview. I'd imagine UND operates similarly.

True, but you don't put a super short window out there unless you have your guy. I've hired many people where HR said I had to post it for a minimum of 7 days. I had my candidate picked before I posted with a 7 day turnaround. Otherwise I posted "until filled"

So, you gotta be looking for a rising star current Associate or Assistant on a high performing team, head coaches on high performing teams aren't leaving, and if they are announcing soon, that also rules out Associates and Assistants that are in the field of 16. Alternatively you are looking for a former Head Coach with a proven track record that is not working or is working well below their pay grade in a lesser league. My two cents

Nick Fohr is a great guy and a solid coach. The style of play and response from players during his tenure at NTDP has not been good.

No, Jax is 99% gone too. They wouldn't have announced a search, and typically a new sheriff wants his own deputies. This allows an interim agreement for Dane to keep the trains moving (likely with a significant amount of cash for a short period aka retention bonus through Sept 1). Its a way of getting him some more cash for his years of good work and to keep continuity while the new guy gets organized.

Man, I'll never forget Oshie in the National Tournament against BC. Goal is scored late, I think an empty netter, and even though there wasn't a chance we were going to pull it off, he immediately went to the center ice dot to take the draw. Reminds me of the line at the beginning of Gladiator when the Captain tells Maximus "a people should know when they're conquered" and Maximus looks at him and says "would you Quintas? would I?"

I would much rather have a super talented group that the coach gets to buy-in and work hard and build over the course of the season into a complete hockey team, than a bunch of try hards with the lunch pail attitude who can't hit water falling out of a boat. I realize it isn't easy to get talented guys to play a role necessarily, tht's part of the art of coaching and what we need. Don't recruit 4th liners to play 4th line. Recruit first liners that accept they gotta play 3rd line because they have Oshie and Toews in front of them.
