  1. Don't know the film, but looks like a young warren Beatty in the back..:that guy PULLED
  2. Ausmus sucks should be stripped of the C
  3. These teams are pretty equally matched, with UND having a little more elite talent (Boeser and Jost) but UMD being more seasoned. They both play the game the right way. Special teams will play a role. UMD hasn't seen Jost and Boeser split...I don't follow the Dogs enough to know if they have two d-pairings that can shutdown guys who will score 20 goals in the show in a year or two...
  4. He likely never was- I'd give him six figs, but not half a mil
  5. This is not a dominant team- unlikely to win any conference hardware...however, this team is very capable of beating anybody on a given night. This is a year where the theme needs to be "get in" then win 4 games. Could easily parallel UMD's national title team with this one or DU's second title team in their b2b.
  6. I don't think it's a forward depth issue...to me it's compete level and being hard to play against in the neutral zone and defensive zone.
  7. Only works if you can pick a defender without interference and the guy you pass to can carry the puck into the zone cleanly with speed. im with you that you chip, F1 and F2 win a race and puck battle and get it back to the point to set up
  8. So that wouldn't hit +/- either... the kid was on the ice for 7 goals scored...unfortunately 5 were by Miami... my starting point is the +/- stated by ogle torp, so I haven't validated anything via official source... a dman being out for 5 goals against has to be a record...maybe need to confirm against Lee and Finley...
  9. Yikes...-3 with an even strength goal means he was out for 4 even strength Miami goals against?? i can't find the full box anywhere, but that means best case (assuming he was out for the first goal) is that he was on the ice for 3 of the 5 goals in the third, worst case he was out for all 4 even strength third period goals against... how many shifts does the bottom pair get in a period? Five?
  10. We needed a timeout and there was no other way than a goalie change
  11. Straight asassination
  12. Whoever went after Jost needs a code red tomorrow
  13. How do we have bad ice when it's subzero outside?
  14. Not difficult to understand- my response is also nuanced. The nuance being while speaking positively of their program, I posted some facts reinforcing our greatness.
  15. Since 03-04, Miami has only missed the NCAAs 3 times. They also made consecutive Frozen Four appearances in 2009 and 2010. So, while not a "dynasty" they have consistently been in the top 16 of college hockey. Knocking that performance is kinda petty- especially from the defending champs who've only missed the tourney once in 20 years, with 3 titles, and 11 frozen fours in that time period. Kinda like Brad Pitt dissing the local homecoming king...we're better than that.
  16. This is something that had me perplexed for awhile. Evidently, the new line of thinking is to support rather than play the traditional position. In the circumstance you describe, the D is licensed to leave the front of the net to provide support to his partner. This passes the buck to the pivot to cover the front of the net or the wingers if its a dman sleeping down. I'm not sure how I feel about this, but support is being drilled into kids as superordinate to your position.
  17. agreed- kid can shoot. No way that he leaves after this season. He's what, a 5th round pick? Washington is going to be patient with him.
  18. Ahcan is one of the best skaters around and a heckuva hockey player...he keeps proving the size doubters wrong. The kid was the dman of the year in the USHL last year and has made the transition to D1 look pretty easy. The only thing wrong with him is that he doesn't wear green on Friday and Saturday nights
  19. and Chad Krys gets the Ralph Cox talk last night...helluva hockey player...lots of good players let go off this team. Go USA!!!
  20. I don't think you can isolate roller hockey as the why, but certainly all reps practicing deception help. TJ has absolutely sick hands. That skill translates to shootout goals.
  21. I got a powerplay hat trick once in peewe- got all 4 years of eligibility left too...thinking about calling up bubbs just hope I don't have to do a zone entry....or backcheck...or god forbid, get hit
  22. Big honor to wear the maple leaf, especially at 18 in this tourney
  23. Too much hate- he didn't work for us...could be reasons we don't know beyond ice time and production. I have no ill will for the kid.
  24. 6'3 22years old playing in the AHL...he still has a shot. Judging by point production, they are likely trying to develop him as a 4th possible 3rd line NHLer if he develops some intangibles in terms of two-way responsibilities, pk, or face-offs He likely enjoyed sniping 47 in major junior...
