  1. Nice try. You'll get to see a top-10 defense on Saturday. If UND cannot run they have zero chance of winning.
  2. Like I mentioned in my earlier post, win a FBS game first before bad mouthing NDSU's FBS wins...
  3. Jacks 38-20 I'll take a very good defense vs a mediocre offense.
  4. Last time I checked all of those teams still had 85 scholarships. Plus NDSU has won their FBS games....7-3. Win one game first...

    SDSU at UND

They played a lot of young guys on defense. Players mature for sure.

    SDSU at UND

Sumner is a very capable QB for SDSU. He had a thumb injury a lot of the season last year and supposedly it is 100% healed. SDSU is very much like NDSU in that they run the ball and play very good defense. I think they were a top-10 defense last year. Muss needs a win over a top team. 7 home games is huge, now UND needs to take advantage of that.
  7. I wouldnt call BSC superior to the MV. W/o Montana, the BSC is not the powerhouse you think. SIU, Youngstown, Western Kentucky and NDSU have won NCs from the MV. They are probably pretty equal but no way the BSC is superior in FB.
  8. Mods, sorry about the 3 post topics....my computer snafu. Delete them.
  9. I don't come over here much but this is a question that I have pondered for awhile. IMO, UND can do quite well in the BSC if they play alittle different than what most of the other schools expect. The BSC is a passing league with many teams running some type of spread offense. IMO, UND could come in and totally shake things up by smashing the running game at defenses and having a controlled passing game off of that. Defense has typically been a stong element the last 20 years so I expect the defense to be very good once the coaches figure out what type of player they need in the BSC. My point is that, as a Bison fan, I love our "modified" west-coast offense that emphasizes the power running game. The MV has a lot of teams that run some type of version of the spread and I love the fact that we stick to our same philosophy: play good defense and run the ball. UND runs a "pistol" type offense or some version. Will the coaches continue this or is there something else changing? Well, I guess I'm just "old-school" with liking power running teams and strong defenses. Like I said, IMO, UND can totally shake things up by having a power running team in this conference. One thing about the Midwest, we have big kids that make good OL and DL. I'm Mussman has taken notice of how the Bison did it last year......play good defense and run the ball. What do you guys think?
  10. Really? So you think those 2 schools are going to come in and "tear" up the Summit with multiple titles? USD in the MV will be a perrenial doormat....period. The game in Sioux Falls will be awesome when more Bison fans show up compared to Yote fans. USD, with all of their senior starters last year, would have finished 8th or 9th in the Valley. They are a good addition to the Valley.....shorter trip for travel, but they will never be a "power" player in the conference.
  11. So this is the mantra for the UND fan? "attach to the Montana schools"...... UND would be better off in the Summit, period. More regional schools with a lot less travel. The BSC worked out, it is what it is. But your administration would have joined the Summit/MV in a heartbeat if it would have worked out. As a TMer and Bison fan, there is no way the Missouri Valley is not the ultimate goal for NDSU athletics. Once the renovation is done to the BSA, IMO, that will be an issue pushed hard at NDSU.....membership into the Missouri Valley.
  12. JMU's QB reminds me of UNI's Rennie but not as good or fast. JMU, from what I saw against EKU, is too 1-dimensional. Their passing game is not very good and pass protection did not look too consistent. They like to run and I guess it works for them. Bison should be able to move the ball against them. Passing game should be open also. If the Bison do not turn the ball over, I fully expect a 2-3 TD win.....but if we turn the ball over...who knows. The Bison's Tampa-2 defense is going to get tested by the run. The bend-but-don't break system has worked this year but they better be ready to stop the run. A loud crowd will also help. Should be a good game. It will be interesting to see a CAA team play....
  13. An extra week of rest will help Jensen's turf toe for sure....how much?? Getting Drevlow back at DT will help with the running game. Hopefully the coaches use Ojuri more at RB....he is a more powerful runner compared to DJ and doesn't dance around like DJ does.
  14. Those attendance figures indicate that UNDs attendance has fallen throughout their transistion and only is higher this year because of a 6th game. 7800 ave this year in a 13K seat stadium......60% turnout this year. The Big Sky will probably improve those #s...but how much?
  15. In our defense, NDSU will probably ave over 18K this year. I wish we had a bigger facility, the attendance would rise IMO. The point on the 1st round playoff games.....Thanksgiving weekend always has lower attendance.....check Appy State and other perenial FCS playoff teams. If the Bison could get 17-18K for our playoffs game/games, that would be great.
  16. "classless programs like NDSU"......really? I don't come over here too much cus UND/NDSU references become a "pissing" match. But this statement is total bunk....period!
  17. Probably the 3rd down right before that. Bison ran a fake sweep to Sigers and the QB (Jensen) tried a dive and it failed. Sigers had a lead blocker and 10 yds of open field.......geeez!! What ifs.......
  18. Kind words from the UND fan board.... NDSU did have a good run this year but need to take care of business during the regular season to get a top 5 seed and home games. UND will probably get there also with the resources they put into the program. Big Sky is going to be a challenge, esp with the addition of Davis and Poly. If Muss can string together 2/3 good recruiting classes then the success will be sooner rather than later. My question is Muss the guy to do it? A NDSU/UND playoff game in a few yrs would be pretty darn awesome.
  19. Mohler is not but Jensen very well could be. He has all the "intangibles" to be a very good QB. Mohler is 5-10 and 170, he cannot see downfield and makes more mistakes than plays. Eastern Washington and Indiana State (MV) brought in 1A QB transfers and they did very well. I don't know if Muss will do that this year. I'm sure he'll play the QB that gives them the best chance of winning even if it is a RFR.....Bohl did the same thing this year.
  20. Fine, points taken. But that is one thing that BV has.....letting individuals voice or vent their feelings,thoughts,rants.....
  21. Are you kidding me? My minute little "jab" at some UND humor has nothing to do with your statement of giving traction to the anti-nickname crowd..... Bisonville posters have more "colorful" exchanges between themselves for heaven's sake. Call NDSU moo U, AC college, whatever you want and I could care less; if I came on here and starting calling posters degratory names along with the institiution then I would be asking for name calling or being banned on here. Wow, lighten up.......UND posters on BV have made worse comments than I did......geeez!
  22. Take it easy.....my attempt at a "poke" at UND.....heck my wife went to UND and I give her sh** about that. Lighten up you guys, no need to call me an idiot or d-bag! I asked a legit question. Many of you think 7-4 or 8-3 is possible....maybe so. I see 4-6 wins next year.
  23. With this schedule, how many games will the sue expect to win next year? Drake Montana Western Black Hills Sioux Falls These games should be considered wins. Idaho, Fresno, Davis, SUU will be tough road games. Cal-Poly will be tough even at home. N Colorado and USD are winnable, but also can be loses. What do you as sue fans think the record will be...... I see anywhere from 4-6 wins next year.
  24. I would expect NDSU's attendance next year to be back up to 17-18K. 10-11K season ticket holders will be a reasonable goal for next year. What are UND's numbers for season ticket holders in FB?
  25. WOW......that schedule is an embarassment. 4 NAIA schools? I thought GT called Fiason after Georgia Southern backed out of our game in Sept. That would have been a great game in the FFD. BS membership will solidify a FB schedule but for next year this schedule is a complet joke. Bringing in Dickinson State, Montana Western, SF....will not help to boost the attendance. If I were a Sue fan I would definitely be emailing Fiason and telling him this schedule is a complete joke.
